Subject: Loving Update for Wed., 11-1

Alex and Charles have come to the Rodeo Bar to see Buck. He jokingly says they look
like they've been up all night. They ask if he's seen the paper which he hasn't.
Alex tells him they've found Stacey's killer.

Tess is supervising the guys who are packing the agency stuff. Lorraine comes in
looking for Jacob. Jocelyn comes in asking Tess what's going on. Tess says after
what happened last night, she's not staying in Corinth any longer. Lorraine finds
Jacob in the back room. She tells him he's been hard to find. He asks what he can
do for her. As she takes off her jacket she says it's what they can do for each other.

Steffi's in her room when Tony knocks at the door. She thanks him for coming over.
He asks how she's doing. Tony tells her everything's over now, but she says it isn't.

opening

Steff asks if Richard said anything else about Gwyn's hands and how she couldn't
have committed suicide.
T: "You know Richard. He talks and he talks but nobody really listens anyway."
S: "Yeah, I can't stop thinking about her."
T: "You will Steff. It'll just take time."
S: "You know when I was going through a hard time in my life, this isn't very nice
to say, but she was what a real mother should be. And for her to kill her own kids
and her family, it just.."
T: "Come on Steff, don't beat yourself up like this."
S: "I just can't keep this locked inside, I have to.."
T: "What?"
S: "The amount of pain she must have been in. I just..I just didn't have any idea."
T: "Yeah well, how could you?"
S: "Because when you're that close to somebody, you should know and I think maybe
she might have been sending out a signal or something and I just didn't see it."
T: "Stephanie we're the police, we worked with her every day and we didn't see it
coming!"
S: "She didn't mean to hurt those people, she loved them."
T: "I know."
S: "It's just that she was hurting so much that killing them was her way of putting
them out of pain. I know it's a horrible thing to do but she thought she was doing
the right thing."
T: "Yeah well, I guess she just wasn't thinking right. I mean she must have been a
little.."
S: "You think she was crazy?"
T: "Well, don't you Stephanie?"
S: "Well if wanting to be out of pain makes you crazy then I guess I'm crazy."
T: "Steff, did you sleep at all last night?"
S: "I can't sleep. I'm not going to be able to sleep for a while."
T: "Stephanie, please listen to me. I am here and I'm going to take care of you and
I'll see you through this, okay?"
S: "I killed her Tony! I killed Gwyn."

The guys have told Buck that Gwyn did it. He doesn't believe it and wonders why.
Charles tells him it would take a professional a long time to explain it. Alex says
it wasn't really Gwyn that did the killing. Buck asks where she is and Alex tells
him she's dead and how she died. Alex wanted him to hear it from them. Buck is
dumbfounded. He goes to call the family to let them know it's over. Alex tells
Charles he should go home and sleep. He informs Alex that he and Angela are having
problems. Alex laughs and tells him about Ava leaving.

Tess is telling Jocelyn if it hadn't been for Steffi and Ally she might not be
moving. Jocelyn commends her on her coolness. Tess says after she's settled in New
York she plans on having a major breakdown. Jocelyn says she'll have to go to the
real estate office but Tess tells her that there is still available space in the
new building. She doesn't know if she wants to move back to New York. Tess reminds
her the reason she came to Corinth was to help Danny and now he's gone. Jocelyn
says she'll think about it.

Jacob asks Lorraine if she's been drinking. She says no and to prove it, kisses
him. He tries to back off and asks what's going on.
L: "Yeah, why don't you, why don't you tell me what's going on, Jacob Foster, huh?
Now why did you do that to me, why did you do that to me? You let me go on and on
and on, pouring my little heart out to you."I am so in love with Charles. No, but I
feel so guilty cause, I am..He's married to the most beautiful woman, now how can I
break that up?" No how can I be so damned stupid?"
J: "Lorraine, would you just listen.."
L: "NO! The entire time, you are having an affair with that wonderful, beautiful
woman.."
J: "We ain't havin' no affair! What you talkin' about, it ain't no affair.."
L: "Oh Pul-ease Jacob, please! I spoke to Angie!"
J: "No, I know SHE didn't say nothin' about an affair!"
L: "NO, no, no, no! She didn't have to. It was written all over her face. But I
tell you, she had one thing right. She does not think you are having an affair. No.
She is in love with you. And if I was a bettin'woman, which I am, one more of my
many vices, I would lay 1-10 that you are in love with her too, h-mm? Now go on,
pay the lady!"

Charles sits down with Alex to commiserate. He says they're not in the same boat.
Buck comes back and says he's going to go down and see the kids before he goes to
New York. He explains about opening the club with Jacob. Alex is surprised. He
tells him good luck and Buck leaves to go open the bar. Charles says it doesn't change
anything just because Jacob is moving to New York.

Lorraine is still at it.
L: "You know, I thought I was a lot sharper than that. I should've seen it a long
time ago. It was always Angie, wasn't it? Angie, all along."
J: "Yeah. Yeah."
L: "The lady I can't get over!"
J: "Well Lorraine, listen, I was trying to forget her. It's why.."
L: "Yeah, drowned your sorrows in me!"
J: "No. No, it wasn't like that!"
L: "Wasn't it?"
J: "Well it wasn't meant to be. If it was, I didn't realize it and if it came off
that way, I apologize."
L: "Well, right back at you, huh? I guess we were doing the same thing. You're
trying to forget about Angie, I'm trying to forget about.. Guess it runs in the
family, doesn't it?"
J: "Well, hey listen..." ( he tries to touch her)
L: "Nope!"
J: "Well, if that's a question, I don't have the answers."
L: "Well, I got an easier one, huh? If it can be you and Angie, why can't it be me
and Charles?"
J: "Naw Lorraine, don't..."
L: "Don't what?"
J: "Don't you know what! Charles, that's what. Don't go there. All right? Thing are
complicated enough.."
L: "Oh please! From where I stand it can not get any worse. So maybe it's time for
me to start trying to change my luck, all right?"
J: "Lorraine."
L: "No, keep the faith, right?"

Tony consoles Stephanie because she's crying.
S: "I tried to stop her, Tony. I told her that I would do whatever I could to help
her, but she didn't want to live anymore after what she did. She.. her hands were
hurt and she asked me to..to, to just help her to end the pain, and I FELT it. I
felt the pain that she was in because I was in pain. I was in pain and I didn't
even have to make a decision. I just..I pulled her to me and I did it, and when it
was over before she died, she told me thank-you. What I did I did out of love for
her and if she asked me to do it again, I would. So you do what you have to do."
T: "Well, I know exactly what I have to do."

At the agency, Lorraine is using the phone as Tess walks by. She's calling Charles
but he's not there. She leaves a message for him to meet Lorraine at her place as
soon as he can and it's an emergency.

Buck brings Alex and Charles food. Charles' beeper goes off. He gets Lorraine's
message and leaves without eating. Alex starts to eat as Jocelyn comes in the door.
J: "Hey, heard you had a pretty rough night last night!"
A: "Yeah, I have a pretty rough life!"
J: "Anything a fairly competent attorney can do?"
A: "No 'fraid not. Wait a minute. Maybe. Come with me! Come with me."

Tess comes and tells Jacob she has a few extra boxes if he needs them.
J: "Thanks."
T: "Your friend Lorraine is helping herself to the phone in there."
J: "Yeah well, I'll leave a quarter on your desk, all right?"
T: "Well, you don't have to snap my head off!"
J: "Well don't bust my chops over these petty issues, would you, please?"
T: "I will come back later when you're in a better mood."
J: "Tess, Tess, I'm sorry, I'm sorry...I'm sorry."
T: "Me too. I guess we're both, uh..What..What are we...We're uh.."
J: (ha, ha) "I don't know about you but I'm pretty fed up with everything."
T: "YES! Me too. How about a shot, huh?"
J: "Hey, hey, make it a double would ya?"
T: "All right, you know, this is a good day. This is a happy day. This is a day
that Jacob and Tess leave the village of the damned!"
J: "Hallelujah!"
T: "Wonder who's going to get the movie rights."
J: "Yeah well, it's not one movie I'll be rushing to see, I'll tell you that."
T: "Me neither, not up for my cameo role. So, you happy?"
J: "About what?"
T: "What, are you kidding me? Starting over, getting out of here. Don't tell me you
don't want to get out of this town ASAP!"
J: "Well, actually I don't. But that's not going to stop me from leaving."

Steffi asks Tony what kind of sentence she'll get.
T: "You're not going to get a sentence."
S: "Come on."
T: "I'm not going to report this Steff."
S: "No, you have to."
T: "Look, you said Gwyn wanted to kill herself, so it's a suicide."
S: "But I helped her do it and it's your job to tell them."
T: "No, it's my job to do what's right and that's what I'm doing."
S: "Alot of people would not agree with you."
T: "Steffi, I don't care about alot of people. I care about me and I care about you
and I care about you alot, Stephanie!"
S: "I know."
T: "Look Steff, you remember on our date I told you I wanted to court you and I
wanted to hang out with you and all that? Well, I meant all that. But what I didn't
say is maybe because I'm not really good at saying things like this. I'm in love
with you, Stephanie. I love you!"
S: "Tony.."
T: "Steff please, listen, I'm not trying to lay a trip on you. I don't expect you
to say "Oh Tony, I love you, too", nothing like that. It's just that I had to let
you know. You know, I had to put it out there and whatever happens, happens. Okay?"
S: "Okay!"
T: "Yeah, I love you that's an "L" word. You'll find it, well..."
He kisses her and leaves ......
