Subject: LOV: Update for Monday, November 7, 1994
Status: R

Deb (usual Monday updater) is not available to do today's update, so
we're changing (unless she can't do Wednesday's, too). So, here is the
audio version of the happening in Corinth.

Ava goes to see Jeremy. She tells him that she and Alex had a big
fight about this. He offers her a drink, she says he KNOWS she doesn't
drink. She says that she and Alex are this close to breaking up. She
asks if he thought about Cabot's offer. Jeremy asks her if she wants
to disolve their relationship.

Cooper is checking with Lenox about all the preparations for the
party. Lenox says Mrs. Brewster is heading up the arrangements. Cooper
says she's crazy, but he says Deborah is doing a great job. Cooper
tells Lenox he's off to get Steffi. The doorbell rings; it's Steffi,
the birthday girl, who wants to know why he is ignoring her.

Meanwhile, Deborah is frantic. She tells Clay they won't be ready in
time. The caterers drop the champagne. Deborah screams.

Deborah tells Clay that Steffi is at the house. Clay tells her to be
calm. Deborah tells Lenox to get the guards to stop the cars from
going up to the house, and to take the people up the back. Deborah
goes out. Clay asks Lenox if Mrs. Brewster's dress has been
laundered. Yes, he says. In the special detergent, Clay asks. Yes,
Lenox says. Deborah comes back, and Clay suggests that she get
changed. She rushes off. Clay comes over to one of the caterers and
asks about the pay. It pays the rent, he says. Clay asks if he'd like
free rent for a few months to make a few calls for him.

Steffi tells Cooper that this whole week, there have been mysterious
phone calls and secret meetings. Has he been hiding something from
her? Steffi asks. Yes, he says, he has been hiding something. Steffi
commentss that he can't even look at her? The phone rings. Lenox tells
Cooper it's for him, and it sounds urgent. Cooper takes it and it's
the caterer and he says Deborah needs to talk to Cooepr in the
carriage house, right away. Cooper says he'll be right there. He tells
Steffi that he'll right back, and he'll explain everything. He tells
her that the pipes broke at the carriage house and he has to go down
there. She says he's doing it again. Cooper promises to make it up to
her when he gets back. He tells Lenox to keep her in his bedroom.

Alex finds out Jeremy fired Mike. He says Jeremy KNEW they had the
place under surveliance, and he went and fired the drug
dealer. Charles tells him that it's not Jeremy's fault. If catching
the bad guys was easy, they'd be bored. Alex tells Charles that either
Jermy is leaving Burnell's, or Ava is. Alex gave her an
ultimatium. Charles said that is good for about 3 years of Ava being
mad. Alex says she'll get over it.

Ava tells Jeremy that twice his investment is a good return. Jeremy
says he's not in this for the money. She says she appreciates his
help, and Burnell's is almost out of the red now. So, Jeremy says, she
doesn't need him anymore? No, she says, she'll always need him, as a
friend. She says she is mad at Alex right now, but she loves him and
needs to work this out, one way or the other. Ava asks him to sell his
shares to Cabot. Jeremy says he can't do that.

Deborah and Cooper think each other called, and once they figure
someone made a mistake, Cooper wants to go back to Steffi. Deborah
tells him she bought Steffi a compact. A makeup case? Cooper says. No,
silly, a CAR! She says she's not been good about picking presents in
the past. She's not sure if Steffi will like the color or 4-wheel
drive...Cooepr says she'll love it. Cooper says he got her a
frog...and this. Is that a ring? Yes. They're both happy. Deborah hugs
him.

Steffi is not good at waiting. She wants to know what is going
on. Lenox tries to stall her. Clay comes in, screaming for
Cooper. Steffi wants to know what's up. Clay says this doesn't
involve her, it involves Cooper. Does it have to do with the envelope
behind his back? She asks.

Ava says he won't sell his shares? Jeremy says no, Alex was right,
Jeremy says, this is personal. Ava says "Oh, no." Jeremy says he
didn't start out this way, (Ava says Oh, no) and he didn't want it to
happen, (Oh, no) but it has, and he doesn't want to let her go. Oh,
no.

Charles and Alex talk about plans for the evening. Frankie is going to
Steffi's party. Charles tells Alex to go find Ava and make
up. Anything else, Alex asks. Yeah, SMILE, Charles says. Ha Ha, Alex
deadpans. Look, he tells Charles, don't be late tomorrow. Alex calls
Burnell's and leaves a message, he's leaving the office now, and he'll
pick up the kids at her mother's house, so she deosn't have to, and
ahhhhhh...could you tell her that I love her? Thanks, he says.

Jeremy and Ava kiss. Ava pulls away, and tells him that she does not
love him - she loves her husband, he (Jeremy) accepted that when Alex
came back. No, Jeremy says, that was not me. I'm not Jeremy.

Deborah starts to scratch. She tells Cooepr she's alergic to almost
everything. She thinks it is something the dress was washed in (Good
guess, Deborah). She needs to get changed. They find out the door is
locked. Cooper says the door doesn't lock. They can't get out. Deborah
wants out of the dress. Cooper says no, not here. Oh, God, he says.

Steffi insists on seeing what's in the envelope. Clay tells her not
to. She insists. He tells her not to. She grabs the envelope, and
looks. It's the doctored picture of Cooper and Deborah making love.
