Some of you may have wondered what happened to me. (Then again, maybe
not. (-: ) Well, I just got busy -- *very* busy. Unfortunately,
I was unable to get anyone else to do the updates for the last few
Fridays, so they simply had to wait.

What follows is the update for the day of the revealing of the LOVING
murderer: Friday, October 27. Obviously, there are no surprises here,
but I thought this update needed to be done as part of the permanent
record of LOVING.

STORYLINE: MORE CLUTTER FOR THE FRIDGE
 (location: Danny's apartment)
* Danny is packing.  There is a knock at the door.  Danny is surprised;
where he's going, the cabbies don't pick you up at your door. Then,
Danny is surprised again; it is Ally at the door, not a cabbie. She
has something to give him. Danny asks her to leave. He says he's
leaving because of her and tells her to find someone else to blame for
everything that has gone wrong with his life. She says she won't leave
until she does what she came to do. Danny asks, "And what's that? Do
you want another 'roll in the hay?'"
* Ally says no, she brought him something. Danny is angry, telling her
that she has made his life a living hell. She admits that she deserves
that, then asks if he is finished. He says, "There's the door," and
opens it for her. She doesn't budge. He lays some more anger on, then
when she just stands there and accepts it, he says he considers it even
now that she "got him back". "As far as I'm concerned , it's a clean
slate now, all right? You go your way, I'll go mine, never the train
shall meet." She corrects him: "Never the twain shall meet." He says,
"whatever," and asks again why she came. She hands him a drawing.
"What's this? Junior's next 'Picasso?'" "Just take it, would you?"
* Danny unrolls the drawing. Ally says it is supposed to be the two
of them in front of the cave. She says that Tyler is going to Paris
to be with Cooper for a while, and he made some drawings as good-bye
cards for her and for his friends. "And me." "Yes, and you." She
points out that in the drawing, there's a big smile on Tyler's face.
"You saved his life." Danny says he won't have a lot of room on the
refrigerator where he's going, so Tyler really didn't have to go to
the trouble. Besides, he's not a hero, that's Casey's department. He
says he read the entire diary, not just the stuff about her setting
him up. "You never told me that." Danny says that for a few nights
after Casey "got it," he had recurring nightmares. After he read the
diary, he got to know Casey better, and he developed a case of "the
guilts." And now, seeing her there, it's like the hammer driving the
nails into his coffin, and he can't handle that, so he's going to go
somewhere where he can live his life the way he wants to live it.
Ally says she should go. Danny agrees. Before she gets out the door,
he says he paid particular attention to the stuff in the diary about
Casey getting a second chance. He says that after all, maybe he even
owes her! She says she doesn't understand. He says he thinks maybe
 they saved his life.
* "I don't want any credit for what happens to you." They yell at each
other for a while. He says he read what Casey wrote about her; he even
memorized stuff. "Damn you." Ally leaves, slamming the door. Danny
picks up the drawing, rolls it up carefully and puts it in his bag.

STORYLINE: NOBLE NEAL
 (location: Police Station)
* Charles is grilling Neal, but he keeps saying he killed Jeremy and
everyone else. Charles tells him to quit the "protecting the family"
routine. Neal tells him that he's wasting his time.
* Charles tells Neal that *nobody* on the force believes that he killed
anyone. Neal asks if it's OK if he falls asleep, because they're not
going to get another peep out of him. Charles says they *know* it was
Trisha. Neal yawns. Charles slams a fist down on the table: he says
Neal probably thinks he is real noble, protecting his family, but she
is out there somewhere planning her next murder. "Do you really want
 that on your head, Neal?"
* Charles says Neal isn't the only one who has to come to terms with a
long-lost family. He says he didn't get post cards sent to him; he
didn't even know she existed...so he knows what this can do to a guy's
head. Neal says nobody's accusing his family of being murderers.
Charles tells the guard to take him back to his cell.
* Neal is in his cell, sitting thoughtfully at a table. "God, please,
let it stop. Let it be over."

STORYLINE: FUN WHILE WAITING FOR THE LAB REPORT
 (location: Police Station)
* Richard, cuffed to the railing, threatens that the longer they keep
him there, the worse it will be for them. Alex, trying to ignore him,
tells him to "put a sock in it." Meanwhile, Jill tells Alex that the
lab report will be delayed. Richard overhears and asks if it is the
lab report on the hair sample from Dunellen. Alex tells Richard that
if he doesn't shut up, he'll break out the duct tape. Richard isn't
buying his threat...until he unrolls a few feet. Richard shuts up.
Alex asks how long. Jill says 40 minutes. Alex tells her to call the
lab back and ask if he can have it in 10 minutes. Meanwhile, Tony is
worried when Stephanie doesn't answer the phone.
* Alex tells Tony that there *must* be a clue in the photos. Tony asks
him to let him "hit the streets" and look for Stephanie. "Absolutely
not! I need you right here." He says he has almost the entire force
and half of the Pine Valley force looking for Trisha. He asks Tony to
focus with him: did Neal and Gwyn's conversation in jail give him any
clues? No, and he bent over backwards to listen.
* Tony is talking to Deborah on the phone, telling her to stay put in
case Stephy calls. She apparently hangs up on him. Richard says he
knows where she might be. Tony tells him that if he doesn't keep it
quiet, he'll wish he had the tape.
In another corner of the station, Alex has a number of officers and is
assigning them tasks. One is to call the FBI, one is to call the State
Department (to track Trisha's passport). An officer asks if there is
another woman they're supposed to be looking for. Yes, Gwyneth Alden,
who occasionally works at the station. She's Trisha's mother, and she
might be a target. Tony approaches the crowd, and Alex, seeing him,
says there is one more person to keep an eye out for: Stephanie. An
officer asks if she is the model on the billboards. Yes. Didn't she
have a stalker problem some months back? Yes.
* Charles tells Alex that he looks like *he* feels. Alex is frustrated,
looking at the photos again. Jill comes up with the lab report. Alex
grabs it. Charles gets called away for an urgent call from the FBI.
Tony comes up as Alex opens the report. He asks what they have. Alex
numbly hands the report to Tony. Richard, seeing this, asks to be let
in on the secret (since he can't do anything about it anyway). Alex
and Tony just give stunned looks to each other. Charles returns and
tells them that the FBI knows where Trisha is.

STORYLINE: KILLER REVEALED
 (location: Wilder ad agency)
* Stephanie is outside, about to unlock the door and come in.
[In Tess' office. In black-and-white.]
Tess asks the killer what she is doing. She chloroforms her, then she
 gets out a syringe.
* [In the lobby. In color.]
Stephanie calls out to Tess. "Hello?"
[In Tess' office. In black-and-white.]
The killer doesn't use the syringe. She goes to the circuit breaker box
and flips off all the lights.
[In the lobby. In color.]
Stephanie calls out softly, "Tess?"
* "It's me, Tess. Come on, talk to me. Hello?" She walks through the
darkened lobby into a closet, where she gets a flashlight. She enters
Tess' office and sees her slumped on the desk. She tries to dial 911
but the phone is dead. She hears the clicking sound...
* "This isn't happening. This isn't happening." Tess stirs. Stephy
says to just hold on and she'll get the lights. Tess slumps to the
floor. Stephanie turns on the circuit breakers; the lights come on.
We see the syringe again, as the killer is about to inject Tess.
Stephanie calls out, "Trisha, stop!" The killer stands up and turns
around: it is Gwyneth in a wig.
