Subject: Loving Update for Wed. 8/30/95

At the police station, Tony's talking to Richard. He tells him if he
wants the inside scoop, he's got to deal with him. They go into an office
for privacy.
T: "Here's your exclusive. You make one more wise crack about me being
connected on account of my family and I am going to personally kick your
Ausie butt from here to Dingoland! So how am I doing, you know, in the
public relations department?"

At the park, Ally's invited Buck for a picnic. They are consoling each
other since they've been through the same thing.
B: "You know what really gets me? It's how you keep it together with
Danny Roberts out walkin' free the way he is, always gettin' in your face."
A: "Don't worry about Danny, because I have faith, some way, some how,
Danny is going to get what's coming to him."

Charles is talking to Bree at Le Bistro about Lorraine. She tells him
Lorraine DOES remember him.

Opening Credits

Ally asks how Buck's hand is and he replies it's just bruised. Buck says
with Curtis gone, he has no where to put his pent-up anger.
B: "Yeah, I was so sure he was the one that killed Stacy, I'd stay up
nights thinking how if the cops didn't get him I would and I'm talkin'
about more than just a smack in the jaw, too. I'd see myself runnin' him
down in my pick-up truck or maybe just beatin' him in some dark alley,
just me, him and a baseball bat. You ever done that, fantasize about that
kinda stuff?"
A: "No."
He jumps up to help Tyler get the ball. Ally DOES fantasize about
shooting Danny. Buck comes back to sit down and Ally asks him what he'd
do if he could find the person responsible for Stacy's death.
B: "If I could find the real killer, Id make damn sure they knew what it
was they took from me."
A: "You would?"
B: "Oh yeah. I hope this doesn't sound crazy but I just get this feelin'
Stacy, she's never going to rest in peace, till the person that killed
her gets what's comin' to 'em."
A: "I can see why you feel that way."

Wilkins is shooting darts.
R: "Let me make this simple for you. You're in the public relations and
I'm the public. All right?"
T: "Get off your soap box, okay Wilkins? You don't care squat about the
people in this town. As a matter of fact, my guess is, you can't wait for
another body to appear. That's right and the sooner the better. This way
no other networks pick it up. Ya know, a corpse here, a corpse there, who
knows, maybe you'll get picked up for the international news."This is
Richard Wilkins coming to you live from Corinth Pennsylvania, at the
crime scene, back to you Peter.""
R: "Not even close, my friend."
T: "You know another thing, I think the reason you've been hitting on
Stephie is you're hopin' her stalker turns out to be the killer and maybe
you'll be at hand when he decides to go after her, get yourself a nice
little interview out of it, huh? See, I know you buddy."
R: "Oh and who am I?"
T: "Oh no, you're not a who, you're a shark, big time!"
R: "A shark who's a reporter. Well, that's a.. that's very original."
T: "Oh but it is. You see sharks? They're really cowards, yeah, they feed
on the helpless, but ya see YOU, your dinner? It's about over!"

Bree apologizes saying she didn't get much sleep because Lorraine had a
bad night. She asks Charles what her mother was like. He tells her Lorry
wanted to be on Broadway. She says it sounds like a whole different
person. She asks if Charles was around when Lorraine changed.

Jacob closes the door again. He hands Angie his cigar box.
A: "What is this?"
J: "This is me putting my life in your hands. Handle with care."

R: "You um, you talk about me using people, kicking them when they're
down. What would you call the way you uh, misrepresented yourself in
front of Curtis Alden that day at the funeral home?"
T: "I call it good police work. I'd call it trying to nab a killer before
he does some more damage, which is a hell of a lot more than trying to
stir things up just for a few lousy rating points.
R: "Your opinion. My opinion is that you're under orders to steer me away
from something and this is what this SHARK talk is about, this lecture,
or since the only good thing I've gotten a whiff of lately is something
about photo fragments and I'd say that's a good lead for my show tonight."
T: "Tell me something Richard.."
R: "On a first name basis now is it? Good, good, good, good...."
T: "You seem to have all the answers, right? So I don't have to tell you
what a copycat killer is?"
R: "No, go ahead."
T: "Well, ya see this killer we're looking for? The photo fragments?
That's his signature, but yeah I know you've figured that out already,
right? But what you didn't figure out is, if you go on the news with
this, every copycat from here to Coney Island is going to be looking for
their fifteen minutes of fame. They're going to be offin' people and
leaving photo fragments all over the place. Now you see we got alot of
dead bodies and a lot of false leads. And the real killer? He's going to
slip away from us. You want that on your head?"
Tony leaves the office.

Charles tells Bree that he went off to Princeton and she probably knows
more about Lorraine than he does. She tells him that her mother never got
married, moved in with HER mother and took her name of Hawkins. Charles
says that's probably why he couldn't find her when he came home from
Princeton on breaks.
B: "Wait a second, are you saying you dated my mother?"

Jacob tells Angie everything that is most important to him is in the box.
She wonders why he's showing her and he says he needs to. He tells her
about the bombing and burying Teresa. He was just a dead man walking
around with this anger inside. Angie is responsible for him getting his
music back. (Angie's started crying by now)
J: "Don't..Just let me get this out, all right? I swear to you I'm not
out to disrupt your life in any way. I'd rather get hit by a truck then
step on your happiness. Angie, My God, you gave me back my music, and I
don't, I don't know, what ever happens between the two of us, I just want
to let you know that I, I love you for that. I owe you my life, Angie."

Ally's tending to Tyler and sends him off to play. Buck tells her he's
been watching out for her since she lives alone with Tyler. She thanks
him for being so nice. She has to get to work but she understands how he
feels.

Tony comes back and hands Richard the psychological profile of the
killer. He tells him it's a copy, he can have it. Tony tells him not to
say anything about the photo fragments. Richard leaves.

Charles says yes and he's sorry he thought she knew. He talks about the
first time he saw Lorraine.
Bree seems a little upset but her food order is ready. She has a funny
look on her face, tells Charles she has to take the food home to her mom,
and leaves. Charles turns, "Twenty years ago?" Bree's outside, "No, no
please, no, don't make him be the one!"

A: "Jacob, I need to understand why you've shown me all this, why you've
told me this."
J: "You know I gotta tell you, I was really hopin' you wouldn't ask me
that one, because, the other explanation and the reason that really
brought me back here, I don't know if I could get that across again."
A: "Again?"
J: "Never mind. Um, here (He hands her the photo of herself) you uh, you
remember that day when i was leaving here?"
A: "The day of my wedding."
J: "Yeah, I took that picture out of that box and I deliberately put it
on the dresser, I mean I knew I had to leave you behind if I ever wanted
to get on with my life. So I'm out on the road, right? And something, ha,
ha, something happened you know, an encounter I guess you wanna call it,
anyway after..afterwards I look back down at my box and I don't know how,
but the picture was right there, in the box like it was meant to be and I
don't know if it was an omen or voodoo or whatever I knew I had to get
back here, take care of some unfinished business."
A: "With me?"
J: "With you, with Frank, Buck, all you people that had become part of
this life I had made up for myself here and um glad, I'm glad I came
back, I feel, Oh God, I don't know what I feel, but I want (heavy sigh)
if we could some how Angie, co-exist..
A: "Jacob, wh..What do you want from me?"
J: "Angie, Angie life is just too short, all right, it's too precious to
be wasted on petty behavior all this lashing out at each other, I want
things to be better between us, you have got a life to live and I'm not
one to try and figure out..just want everything to work out for everyone.
What about you, Angie, what is it you want?"
She takes her purse and leaves....
