				LOVing Update
			    Tuesday, August 23rd, 1994

Today's episode finds us with 1 storyline: The Plane Crash and how the
involved family and friends handle the tragedy.

[At Hannah's apt in NY]

The phone rings and we see Ava rush to answer it calling to Hannah that
she's got it. It's Alex, who is very surprised to be talking to his
wife. Ava explains that she had a funny feeling about Dinah Lee and came
to see her only to find out that she'd already left with Buck! Alex
calmly explains to Ava about the accident and how Dinah Lee was injured.

Ava is stunned and recalls Harry's prediction, what if it means Dinah Lee
is going to die?! Alex tells her to get a hold of herself, to be strong
for Hannah's sake. Alex also assures her that he has a strong feeling
that everything will be all right, and that he needs Ava to keep the
faith and not give up. Ava shakily agrees, and says she and Hannah will
be on the first plane back to careful. She hangs up with a loving
warning from Alex to be careful.

[At the Hubbard Home]

Charles, Frankie and Pat are finishing up the pizza when Pat notices that
Frankie only ate one piece. He confides that he's not sure about Janie
coming through with the bone marrow for his Mom, and that when she does
show up he'll get his appetite back. Angie can't sleep and she returns
downstairs just in time to answer the phone. It's her doctor with news
that Janie has been found.

Angie covers the phone and joyously shares the news with the family, and
they all chatter a moment about how happy they are. When Angie finally
returns to the phone, the doctor explains that it's not really good news.
He tells Angie that Janie was killed in an airplane accident. Angie's
smiles turn to horror as she wordlessly hangs up the phone. She turns
and tells the family about Janie's untimely demise.

Angie's reaction is tears, and regret that she got Janie involved in her
life, that perhaps she would have been better off if she'd never met
Angie. Charles nixes that train of thought and reminds Angie of how much
better Janie's life had gotten. Angie recalls Janie ... That poor girl
new nothing but pain her entire life. She had so much to live for, it's
just not fair ...

Frankie's reaction is a withdrawn silence. Pat tries to comfort him, and
Frankie starts to limp saying that his foot hurt ... Grandma, remember
when I danced with her? ... Yes, I recall that I put you up to it ...
well she was a horrible dancer, kept stepping on my feet. Funny how I
wouldn't notice it till now ... Frankie, you liked her and now she's
gone. That's hard ... Yeah, she said she felt like she was a hunderd
years old and that I was a nice kid ... Well you are a nice kid ... No,
she meant that she'd lived through so much that she *felt* old. I didn't
understand that till now. Why do I always catch on too late? ... Pat
hugs him and he leaves to take a walk.

Charles is talking to Angie and says ... Angie, there's something else we
need to talk about. You didn't just lose a friend, you lost your chance
at life! ... he continues after a commercial ... I know this may seem
insensitive, but Angie, can you still use the bone marrow if the donor is
dead? ... After a moment's hesitation Angie quietly answers yes ... Then
let's go, I'm getting you to the hospital ... No Charles, the bone marrow
has to be harvested within 12 hours. But more importantly Janie would
have had to sign papers, which she didn't. ... Charles says they don't
know for sure if she did or not and wants to go to the hospital anyway.
Angie starts to refuse saying that she can't do that to Janie ... Excuse
me, you have a dead girl in there and we just want to borrow something
from her, I can't do it Charles! ... Charles makes her think ... Angie,
what would you do if the situations were reversed? If you were in Heaven
looking down at Janie? ... Angie answers ... Go ahead Janie, don't be
silly ... They get ready to leave for the hospital. Pat agrees to wait
at the house for Frankie's return.

We see Frankie dealing with his grief. He goes back to the alley and
recalls his conversation with Janie when she had first come to Corinth
and was dressed in the bright flowered shorts and midrift top, with the
bright red accessories. :) He remembers throwing rocks at the
abandonded building with her, and flings a couple and kicks the garbage
cans in frustration. Ending shot is a close up of his face as he angrily
wipes tears from his eyes.

[At the Hospital]

Opening scene is a bloody, dirty, bandaged Buck talking to Curtis.
Curtis is very agitated and Buck is beating himself up with guilt saying
this is all his fault. Curtis falters and says it is *his* fault. But
does he spill the beans? No, he has a flashback of cutting the wires but
only tells Buck that if he hadn't tried to keep Trucker and Dinah Lee
apart, she wouldn't have fled to NY and Buck wouldn't have taken the
plane to get her, and this wouldn't have happened. Buck shouts that he
wishes he could blame Curtis, but this one is all his fault! And Janie
... Curtis asks ... Janie? She's home right? ... No, why did I let her
get on that plane with me? ... She was with you? (he's really antsy now,
running his hands through his hair and breathing in short shallow
breaths) ... Yeah ... But she's ok right? ... No Curtis! Janie's DEAD!
... Curtis looks like he's about to throw up and cry at the same time.

Trucker arrives in a flurry and goes looking for Dinah Lee. Buck tries
to talk to him but he's focused on seeing Dinah Lee. He rushes around a
corner and sees a nurse who tells him that Dinah Lee is in there (a
curtained off area) and stops him from entering. He pleads that he's her
fiancee, and after checking with the Dr, they let him in.

The Dr's have been readying Dinah Lee for surgery, and leave Trucker with
her for a moment. Her head is bandaged, there's a cut on her face, and
she has a respirator. He hugs her and sits by her bed taking her hand.
He has the lucky rabbit's foot and he rubs it against her arm telling her
that it *is* lucky! That she came back to him and told him she loved him
and that makes him the luckiest man in the world. And it will work for
her too. They come in to take her away, leaving a stricken Trucker
behind.

Trucker goes back to the waiting room where Buck and Curtis want to know
how she is? Trucker blows up at Buck yelling at him ... Why didn't you
listen to me? Dinah Lee would have come back in her own time! Why did
you have to take that stupid plane and make her get on it! ... Buck takes
all his lumps and says it's all his fault. ... If it weren't for me
Dinah Lee and the baby ... shocked silence ... WHAT BABY, BUCK!!! ...
Curtis has another mighty sick look on his face ...

OH My God, Dinah Lee is pregnant. That's what she was going to tell me
... Trucker I'm so sorry ... She's so hurt, it'll be tough for her to
survive this, how will a baby survive? ... Buck's having major guilt
attack, Curtis stalks off with a major anxiety attack, and Trucker
apologizes to Buck for blowing up. He tells him that he's his brother
and he loves him. He was just trying to help Trucker and Dinah Lee and
there's nothing to be guilty about. They make up.

Angie and Charles arrive on the same floor and almost run into Curtis
having an anxiety/guilt attack outside the elevator door. Charles is
talking to the Doctor ... So, can't we use the bone marrow for Angie from
Janie? ... I'm sorry, we can't because she never signed the release
papers ... WHAT? You mean you'll let somebody DIE just because of a
little thing like that?! ... Charles! ... Angie reprimands him. The
Doctor continues. ... The only hope would be if we could reach her family
and they could give consent. ... But she has no family. She told me
that her Grandmother raised her after her parents died. ... Curtis is
listening and walks up to join the conversation ... No, that's not true.
Her family is alive .... Shocked and hopeful glances turn towards Curtis.

Ava and Alex enter the waiting area from a different elevator and rush to
talk to Trucker. Ava says that InvisiHannah is talking to the Doctor
right now. Trucker says that Dinah Lee has been in surgery for a while
and that they should hear something soon. Right on cue a tired looking
little female doctor comes through the set of double doors by the nurses
station, removing her green surgical mask as she walks towards the group
of concerned friends. Trucker quickly asks the doctor ... Doctor, how is
Dinah Lee? ... The weary doctor solemly looks at Trucker and says ...
Mr. MacKenzie, it's over ..........

That's it for Tuesday!
