Subject: LOV: Update Wednesday, August 10, 1994
Status: R

Well, it figures. Debbie is still busy, but she offered to find a
fill-in for her filling-in, but I told her that I wanted to do today's
update, since this is the day that someone is suppose to recognize
Cabot. Now the bad news. WCVB (as in I HATE CHANNEL 5) showed the OJ
Pre-trial hearing yesterday (did ANYONE else get this, or did everyone
else get LOVING?). I appreciate Jennifer's update, since it seems
this is today's episode.

Frankie is on the radio, asking for people to get tested for bone
marrow donations. Janie asks them to turn it up. Janie says Angie's
not getting any better. Buck says you know Angie? Yeah, Janie
says. From where? Boston, Janie says. She's the reason that Angie is
in this mess. The waitress asks Curtis if he's thinking of firing
Buck. No, Curtis sighs. Good, you gonna settle things with him? Yeah,
Curtis snears, I'm gonna settle things with Buck.

Tommy comes to Casey's place. Tommy tells him that he can't keep his
hands clean in this business, so he should just stop trying.

Buddy/Cabot asks Steffi what he can get for her. She's not gonna eat
anything, yet. Waiting for her fellow? Cooper is NOT her "fella".
Cabot laughs and says he'll just have to prove it to her. Cooper comes
in and gives Steffi a rose, for a beautiful lady. Buddy/Cabot says
Yes, sir, there is nothing like an afternoon sherry and a crossword
puzzle after a business meeting.

(This is a guess...Clay goes into his office, where he sees someone)
Cabot? Clay says. Cabot? You were expecting Cabot? Alex asks as he
comes into view.

So, Buck says, you were the one holding Angie in Boston. Well, belt
me, if you want. Buck says, nah, sounds like she's Angie's friend,
too. Why is she telling him all this? Janie wonders. Well, Buck
offers, a lot of people sit there and talk. Seems to help. He knows
where she is coming from, he's been there himself, Buck
says. Meanwhile, Curtis says, come on, Fontana, where are you.

Tommy says Casey goes good work. How did she react? Was she nervous,
angry. Look, I just take pictures, Casey says. What about the money?
Casey says. Hey, I didn't forget you. Tommy remarks that this is just
a job. He leaves. Casey sighs, right, just a job.

Cooper tells Steffi that if you can't give your best friend a rose,
who can you give one to? Cooper tells her that Alex did not make any
headway on the Cradle Foundation. The waitress comes over and says her
boyfiend is on the phone. Why would Clay call here? Cooper asks. No,
Steffi says, can't be him. Cooper asks if she is seeing anyone else.
No, Steffi says, that's the last thing she wants. Oops, she doesn't
mean that...Look, Cooper says, she is free to date. She doesn't have
to explain to him. She goes to the phone. It's Buddy/Cabot.

Alex wants explanations. He KNOWS about the Cradle Foundation. Clay's
been paying bills to a nursing home, for someone that is supposed to
be dead! Clay threatens to have Alex arrested for trespassing. Alex
tells Clay that Curtis caught Isabelle crying over Cabot. He was her
HUSBAND! Clay says. WAS? Alex says back. Clay tells Alex that he's
crazy. Not as crazy as Clay, thinking Cabot is alive, Alex retorts.
What? Clay asks. He incriminated himself, when Alex walked in, Clay
thought he was Cabot. Alex wants explanations.

Buck tells Janie the drinks are on him. Why is he being so nice? Buck
says it's about time someone was. She wouldn't believe some of the
things he did. Try me, she suggests. He ruined a lot of lives. He
never trusted anyone but himself. So, who is she supposed to trust?
him? She trusted Angie, Buck says. Yeah, but not enough. Janie tells
him that Frankie asked her to be tested, but she didn't. Well, Buck
says, it's not too late. Buck thinks that she has so little of herself
left that she's afraid to give any away. Meanwhile, the waitress
mentions to Curtis that Buck is good with the customers. Curtis says
yeah, especially the female ones. The phone rings. Curtis gets
it. Tommy tells him that he's started the Buck Houston family album,
would he like to see it? Meanwhile, Buck offers that the two of them
should go get tested, together. Sure, Janie says, she'd love it.

Alex and Clay, in a shouting match, discuss who was the better son to
Cabot. Alex thinks Clay squirelled Cabot away when Cabot was gonna
take him out of the will so that Clay could have it all. They shout at
each other some more and Alex finally leaves.

Steffi tells Buddy/Cabot that Cooper didn't care about her getting a
phone call from her "boyfiend". Buddy says, go back to him, see if
he's jealous. Twenty-three skiddoo, Buddy/Cabot says, and hangs
up. Steffi goes back, and sees the busted rose. Cooper tells her there
was an accident (I bet Cooper broke it in a jealous rage while Steffi
was on the phone). She tells Cooper that it was a wrong number. He
says she was on the phone for a long time for a wrong number. She says
they were getting to know each other. Cooper says she doesn't have to
explain. She says, look, it was the old guy in the kitchen. Sure,
Cooper says. She doesn't have to lie, either. Steffi says he called,
as a joke. Okay, let's go meet this guy, Cooper says.

Tommy shows Curtis the pictures. Not exactly what he expected, Curtis
says (did we see the pictures?). What aobut the girl? She's been hard
to find, but he's looking, Tommy says. As always, it's been a
pleasure, Tommy says.

Casey tells Alex that he was calling the police station about his old
job. Sorry, Alex says, that job has been filled. Casey sighs and says
that he'll have to stay with the free-lance jobs. Alex says maybe he
can ask around. Casey tells Alex that there was one picture on the
roll that he forgot to give to Cooper. It's a picture of an old guy on
a picnic bench. Alex sighs and says he told Cooper to only use the
camera in Clay's office. Alex says sorry about the job, Casey says it's
okay. Alex looks at the picture. Cabot?

Cooper rings the bell for the cook. You ringing for me? Buddy/Cabot
says. Uncle Cabot? Cooper says.

Wow-two-identifications-at-once-hanger
(This I did not expect!)

Public Service Announcement:

Angie comes on afterwards and says, For more information on the
