Subject: Loving Update for Wednesday 7/26/95

Debra is at La Bistro reading a "Voodoo" handbook, about dolls and body
parts. Stephie comes in and surprises her. She hides the book and jumps
up to hug her daughter. Deb wonders where Steph's been and why she went
to St. Barts.
Steph: "If I tell you, do you promise not to freak out?"

Jeremy's working on a sculpture. Knock, knock, it's Gwynneth. He says he
was just going to call her. He just got back from Paris last night. He
asks how she's doing with Stacy's death. He also wonders how Curtis is
dealing with it. She takes offense but apologizes explaining she'd argued
with Clay. She's having doubts about her son and wonders if he SHOULDN'T
be back in Dunellen.

Curtis, at the liquor store, is buying a bottle for his father for $124.50!
He's talking with the cashier who tells about his father's philosophy:
Booze is like a car. It doesn't matter if you drive a porsche or a
volkswagen, still gonna end up in the same place."
Curtis: "Unless, of course, you have an accident along the way." (He smiles)

Clay is looking through papers and comes across one for Judicial
intervention pertaining to Curtis. He glances at the family portrait on
his desk. He starts to put on the "Implicit Reality" headset.

At the police station, Tony tells Alex that he's leaving town. He informs
him the AE secret service is taking over his job of watching Stephie.
They are interrupted by an officer that tells Alex Buck DID withdraw his
money and hands him the statement. Tony congratulates him for cracking
the case. Tony thinks it was too quick.

Jeremy asks if she believes Curtis killed Stacy. She says no but Clay
does. She thinks Clay WANTS him to be guilty. Gwyn tells him how Clay and
Curtis acted at the restaurant. She feels her whole family is
disintegrating. She's been trying to remember a time when the family was
together and enjoying themselves. Only one time came to mind, 1975, on a
trip to Maine. She played crazy eights with Trisha and Clay taught Curtis
to fish. Gwyn tears up at the thought. She wishes evereything were the
same. Jeremy comforts her with a hug.

Back at the station, Tony's questioning Alex's booking of Houston. He can
see that Alex doesn't believe Buck is guilty. Alex doesn't want to
divulge info but Tony's doing a good job of calling him out. He brings up
the ATM photo and the plane ticket purchase. Alex says they'll be
checking the signatures on the receipts. Alex looks like he's having a
brain-storm! Tony says the hard party is going to be finding the guy who
DID buy it. Alex says "maybe not." Alex says the next time Tony comes to
Corinth, he wants him to come straight to Alex and he's going to give him
a job. Tony says there are other opinions on that.
Alex: "Yeah, well, they're wrong, I'm right. I feel it in my... Kishkas!"
Alex rushes out.

Deb: "PREGNANT!"
Stephie knew she was going to freak out. Deb says how and steph says the
usual way. She asks about Cooper but Steph admits she didn't tell him.
Debra says to tell him and he'll drop that "French Bimbo". Steph doesn't
want him back. She says she'll tell him when the time is right. (Debra's
little wheels are turning like crazy!) She says they need to go tell the
Aldens. Stephie doesn't want to discuss it. Deb wants to get financial
support from them. Steph tells Deb about Clay's plan to follow her to the
Bahamas. Deb is hot-to-trot and rushes out saying, "I'm going to kill
him!" She bumps into Tony.
Deb: "Where were YOU when Stephie's body really needed guarding?"

Tony concludes that Steph told her mother. Steph thinks Deb is terrified
of being a grandmother. He wonders why she wants to kill Clay and not Cooper.
Steph: "Umm, force of habit, Cooper's not here." Tony asks how she's doing.
He tells her the stalker business is over.
Steph: "Tony, please tell me you didn't do anything stupid."

Jeremy is consoling Gwyn. She feels guilty about her family and the way
they turned out. She tells him he's a sweet man because he's biased. She
apologizes for their break-up and feels partly to blame. He says he was a
fool to let her go. They kiss!

Curtis has the bottle in a bag and is heading for the door of the
apartment. Ding, dong, it's Alex.
Curt: "If you're looking for my mother, she's not here."
Alex: "No, it's actually you that I want."

Clay is hooked up with the "Implicit Reality" glove and headset. He
pushes enter. The scene is the living room. Gwynneth is ironing. Trish
and Curtis are very young. They are doing s take-off of "The Beaver"
called "That Darned Muskrat". Muskrat (Curtis) broke a window with his
baseball and he doesn't get punished. Dad (Clay) says they're going on a
vacation to Maine. Muskrat starts talking about Clay being the worse dad,
he's never home. The milkman spends more time with them then he does.
Then Trisha joins in saying mom would have left a long time ago if he
didn't have so much money. While the kids are talking this seriously,
there is canned laughter in the background. They decide to runaway from
home and leave.

After receiving a cup of coffee, Tony tells Steph, no he didn't do
anything stupid and avoids any further discussion. He says he came to say
good-bye. She asks why he's leaving.
Tony: "There's nothing keeping me here. Why, you gonna miss me?"
Steph: "Yeah, I'll miss you, umm, it's been interesting, that's for sure!"
She reaches over and kisses him on the cheek. They tell each other to
take care and he gives her his number in case she needs a body-guard or
even a friend.

Jeremy and Gwynneth have done the wild thing! They lay there in "after
thought".

Alex asks if he can come in. He wonders if Curtis is feeling better since
the memorial and the misunderstanding at the restaurant. Alex thinks
Curtis is a bit edgy. He apologizes for having to question Curtis and
asks if Curtis is more at ease now that Buck's been arrested. Curtis
wants to leave but Alex still has something on his mind. The phone rings.
It's Curtis' doctor and he tells him he'll call him tomorrow. Alex hands
him the bag with the bottle in it.

Clay is interrupted as Debra grabs his gloved hand.
Clay: "What do you want?"
Deb: "You have caused pain to everyone that crosses your path. Well, now
it is your turn!".......
