LOVING Update for Friday, July 22:

STORYLINE: WILL SHE STAY OR WILL SHE GO?
           (location: fancy restaurant)
* Stephanie enters and goes to Jeremy's table. He asks why she didn't
want to meet at a more "trendy" place and she says that he will have
a hard enough time convincing her to stay in town; the last thing he
needs is loud music. Jeremy says he's surprised she is giving him
such an advantage, but he is still surprised she likes it here. She
says that she has come there for years. She says that you used to be
able to tell what the reaction would be if they took off their clothes
and danced on the table...and what do you say, let's try it now? She
pulls off her shawl and invites Jeremy to dance. [No, I didn't quite
 "get" this.]
* Jeremy tells her to go ahead and get naked and dance on the table; she
asks if that is a dare, because she *will* do it. Jeremy tells her she
acts wild, but all she has become is a trophy for men old enough to be
her father, and she hasn't done any modeling lately. [Seems quite mean
for Jeremy.] Stephanie says she *has* been working hard, and Jeremy
says she has been hardly working. Jeremy says she has turned down more
jobs than she has accepted lately, and that she walked out on the last
photographer. He says she is too "comfy" at the Mansion. She says,
"not any more" and says she needs for him to help her get to Paris.
He says he doesn't think she has what she needs to make it there. He
tells her to "put her mind to it" and forget about Clay. She says
that's exactly why she wants to go to Paris. She needs a fresh start
and says there is nothing going on in Corinth. Jeremy says Casey is
very busy because he "hitched his wagon to a star" and continues, "you
 *are* that star."
* Stephanie doesn't believe she is a star. Jeremy says if so, she has
been hanging around the wrong people. She says Clay always told her
she was a star, but Jeremy says that was only for his personal reasons.
She says she can't help that things would have been different. She
says she now knows that he married Deborah to "send a message to her."
Jeremy asks why she still cares about Clay. She says she knows she
shouldn't... Jeremy says that leaving him was the best thing she could
do. Stephanie asks why it doesn't *feel* that way. Jeremy tells her
that Gwyneth went through the same doubts, but she is doing *fantastic*
now. Stephanie says that is because she had him; Jeremy says she will
find somebody, too, but first she has to find herself. Jeremy says she
has everything, including a passion for life, and he tells her to enjoy
her life and one day she will have the world at her feet. He leaves to
get some champagne to celebrate her staying in town. On his way out,
he stops at a table of four women. Wide-eyed, he asks them if *that*
isn't Stephy Brewster, the face of Burnell's? "Oh my God, it is!"
"She is cuter in real life!" We pan back to Stephanie. A waiter who
overheard Jeremy goes to a table of -- um -- middle-aged women and
points out to them "the face of Burnell's." "What I'd *pay* for a
face like that." "Not to mention the body." Back at the first table,
one girl asks the mom if she can get her autograph. Mom tells her to
be polite. The three younger girls go to Stephanie's table and ask
her to autograph scraps of paper. She thinks they are kidding, but
one says that everyone at school thinks she is *so* cool, and they will
"die" when the find out that the three of them saw her. Stephanie
finally consents to sign. A photographer appears out of nowhere and
asks for a big smile for the _Corinthian_. She obliges. One of the
middle-aged women asks if that isn't "Gwyn Alden's boyfriend with the
model?" The other agrees. Stephanie kisses Jeremy on his cheek for
his support. Jeremy kisses Stephanie on her forehead.
* See below...

STORYLINE: HOW MANY KIDS DOES IT TAKE TO CHANGE A LIGHT BULB?
           (location: Casey and Ally's "house")
* Ava is touring the house, which is little more than a construction
site. Casey and Ally ask what she thinks of the house, and she avoids
answering. She has to make a phone call and takes a cellular phone
out of her purse; Casey says that they are plugged in now. When Ava
leaves the scene, we hear a *snap*, but Ava is OK. Ally, obviously
deceived (or kidding), says, "at least [Ava] likes it." Casey moves
in for a romantic moment and tells Ally to get rid of Ava...
* Ally says she thought he *liked* Ava, but Casey says he likes Ally
more. Ally says it is great to have a house like this. Casey says
he'll be happy when it is finished. He sits in the Casey-fixed rocker
and pulls her onto his lap. As she squeals, she says it can always be
like this. "Just you and me and all the kids." She asks how many
kids he wants; he answers "an entire houseful." He decides to start
making those kids now, but she stops him. He agrees to wait until Ava
leaves, but she says she meant until they have more money. Casey says
he is working *a lot*. He turns on the charm and says he wants kids
"as wonderful as you are." She is still worried, but he promises her
he will still have time for her, no matter how busy he gets. They
each tell the other, "I love you." She says he will be a great father,
husband, lover... They kiss. Ava re-enters the room, and Casey waves
bye-bye to her without stopping the activity on the rocker. Ava sneers
 and doesn't go anywhere.
* Ava says she is glad to see the honeymoon is still going strong, which
is what she should do. Both Casey and Ally tell her not to leave on
*their* account. [Funny stuff.] Ava says she has gotten the hint, but
Casey senses they want to talk and leaves to "check the plaster in the
kitchen." Ava tells Ally that she is glad things are going so well for
the two of them. Ally says she had no idea that marriage could be so
great. Ava says she should have asked her. Ally, to prove Casey's
romantic tendencies, shows Ava an empty picture frame they got as a
wedding present. Ava is confused, but Ally explains that Casey wants
to put a picture of their first baby together in there. Ava says she
figures they'll pack it away for a while, then. Ally says, actually,
no. Ava asks if Ally is pregnant. "No, no, no, not yet. Soon." Ava
asks if she wants to wait. She says *Casey* doesn't. Ava asks what
*Ally* wants, and she says she would love to have another baby. "Now?"
"Why not?" Ava tells her that she wouldn't have time for school or her
job, and what about money? Ally says Casey is working a lot. Ava says
he is also spending a lot. She asks if they have a "golden goose egg"
or something? Ally tells her that Cooper set up an account for Tyler
and another one for her, in case she ever needs it -- "not that I would
ever take it..." Ava says Casey wouldn't let her, and Ally says Casey
doesn't know! Ally says Casey won't even listen to anything if the
name Cooper comes up. Ava says it is not a good idea to keep secrets
in a marriage. As Casey re-enters, Ally says it is "just in case."
Casey asks, "where were we?" and starts kissing Ally again. Ava says
she was leaving, but she wants to say good bye to Tyler first. She
goes upstairs. Casey tells Ally, "Just think. If we're really lucky,
tonight might be the beginning of Tyler's little brother or sister."
 Ally forces a smile.
* On the porch, they are saying their good-byes. Jeremy and Stephanie
enter. Stephanie says she heard about a great party tonight. Ava
asks Jeremy, "since when are *you* in the party scene?" Jeremy tells
her that he is only dropping Stephy off; that he is going to have "a
quiet evening at home." [Said simultaneously by Ava and Jeremy -- a
funny scene.] Casey asks who is going to be at the party. Stephanie
says that Ariana Walsh ("I just did a big shoot with her!") and her
boyfriend ("I've been dying to meet him. He has got this amazing
lineup for the fall.") Stephanie invites them to the party. Casey
asks for five minutes to clean up. Ally stops him, saying she thought
he wanted to do the "quiet evening at home" act; he says there is time
for that later. Casey asks Ava to take Tyler home for them. Ally
says she thought Casey was tired, but he says it will be fun, and they
haven't been out in a long time. They go into the house. Ally takes
Stephanie to show her what they have done in the kitchen, while Casey
runs upstairs to get ready. Ava and Jeremy follow. Ava is surprised
about Casey's change of heart; Jeremy says that is the "fickleness of
youth." Ava says she hopes that is all it is. Jeremy tells her to
stop worrying so much. She says, "I can't help it. I don't want
Casey and Ally to get into something where there's no turning back."

STORYLINE: NO RONNIE, NO BETTY, NO TRUCKER, NO STACEY
           (location: Pins)
* While Curtis is still trying to talk to her, Dinah Lee leaves him to
deliver some drink orders. When she returns, she tells him she is
swamped. He says she hasn't answered the question: can the two of
them be friends? Dinah Lee says, "I don't think that we can ever be
friends." Curtis says he can if she can. He hands her a letter and
asks her to please read it. Exasperated, she opens it and reads, "Dear
Ronnie and Betty..." Dinah Lee stops, but Curtis encourages her to go
on. "I'm writing this letter to say good bye. It was wonderful while
it lasted, but it's time to move on for all of us. Both Dinah Lee and
I need our freedom, not just from you, but from each other." Curtis
says that we may not have Ronnie and Betty any longer, but we can still
have Curtis and Dinah Lee. He extends his hand to shake hers, and Buck
appears out of nowhere and grabs him. He tells him to keep his hands
off her and stay out of her life.
* Curtis tells Buck to "saddle up and ride off into the sunset." Buck
ignores that and asks Dinah Lee if she is OK. Curtis tells Buck that
he is only trying to be her friend. He tells Dinah Lee that he is her
friend and that he is there for her. Dinah Lee tells Curtis to leave.
Curtis says he thought they agreed to be friends. Dinah Lee says *he*
agreed and, as usual, he isn't listening to anyone else. "All I want
to do is help." She tells him to help himself, because it is him that
really needs it. He asks if this is all because of Buck. [Huh?] She
says this has nothing to do with Buck. "How do I make this any clearer
to you? I don't want your friendship, I don't want your life. I just
want to forget the biggest mistake I ever made." Buck tells "Mister
Mistake" to leave. Curtis asks why? Because that is what *he* would
do? Steal somebody's heart then leave them? Buck grabs him, tells him
to back off, and says he has *nothing* to say about Stacey. Just when
they are about ready to fight, Dinah Lee (!!) breaks them up. Buck and
Dinah Lee tell Curtis to leave. He does, with the parting shot, "at
least I've admitted my mistakes. Can you honestly say the same thing?"
He slams the door on his way out.
* None.
* Buck asks Dinah Lee why he lets Curtis get under his skin like that.
She says he is good at it. He says Curtis is right, though. He never
could stick it out when things got tough. He says that in his whole
life of running away, he never missed anything until Stacey. Dinah
Lee tells him that he is always getting on her to work things out with
Trucker, and he says that's different. Buck can't be the kind of man
Stacey needs. Dinah Lee says she doesn't believe that; he just hasn't
 found the right woman yet.
[At a therapist's office.]
The therapist [a man -- what happened to the woman?] asks Curtis how he
felt when he saw Dinah Lee. He says, "Sad. The same way I felt when
Trucker broke off our friendship." Therapist asks if he felt anger.
"No, not at them. It's that damn Buck, Trucker's brother. I'd like
 to *kill* the man."
[At Pins.]
Buck says he wonders whether he will ever find the right someone. DL
says she used to think that, too. Buck asks about Trucker. "Right
person, wrong time." Buck says one out of two ain't bad. Dinah Lee
tells him to hang in there -- "maybe we'll both get it right someday."
