Subject: FINALLY! LOVING Update, Monday, July 11, 1994
Status: R

Debbie accepted a lunch date with her hubby, so she asked me to fill
in. How could I say no. It's an HONOR to update the first LOVING in a
week. :-)

Okay, since the last LOVING I saw was on the 4th of July, I figured
I'd summarize the last update I did and then we'd all remember where
they left off and see if it follows...

---------------July 4th-----------------------

It's the Fourth of July, but you'd never know it...but then again, the
show is a day or two or three behind, so maybe they'll celebrate the
4th AFTER the OJ preliminary stuff is over, in November. :-( (Gee, who
knew I'd be so close :-()

Frankie gets Gwyn to hire him (for free) to help pay for the damage
Janie did to Gwyn's car). Frankie hits up on Tess, who tells him to
come back when he's older, then gets a phone call from Cooper, who
says he can't take her to dinner tonight. Frankie warns Tess that
Cooper is an accident that keeps on happening. He tells her to cross
to the other side of the street when she sees him.

Janie approaches Steffi and Cooper and gets him to set her up in the
Corinth Towers. Steffi is aprehensive, since Janie didn't tell them
anything.

Angie calls her doctor and says she hasn't been feeling well lately.

Is-it-OJ-or-Angie-on-Tuesday's-show-hanger
(Well, it was OJ on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday :-()

The newspaper has Soap Opera Update...let's see what they say about
LOVING: Frankie came on to Tess, who said she doesn't get involved
with "younger" men. Steffi and Cooper were upset when Janie (whom they
know as "Tyra") refused to tell them what she knows about Deborah's
hold on Clay because she really knows nothing.

Which brings us to today's update....

---------------July 11------------------------

Angie tells Charles that she has a doctor's appointment today. her
appointment is next week, Charles tells her. She asks him to sit
down. No, when she does that, it's bad news, Charles says. She was
gonna ask him to move in, but now she thinks it's a bad idea.

Janie/Tyra tells Cooper that she could be happy here (the Corinth
Towers). No, way, he says. Their deal was she could live here for a
little while, then he'll buy her a ticket home. He asks where home
is. Out there, Janie/Tyra says. She suggests he get her the penthouse.

Trucker tells Dinah Lee that maybe Curtis has done them a favor. Now
they can get on with their lives and look to the future. Gwyn is at
the door.

As the opening credit and theme plays, a voiceover says, Welcome Back
ABC Daytime Viewers! You haven't missed anything. And just so you can
remember, here's a recap...Dinah Lee and Trucker are in Rome. Gwyn
wants to convince Clay to reexamine Trisha's body, and Janie is
trying to convience Cooper she knows something about Deborah and
Clay. Will she succeed?

Gwyn tells Trucker she wants to exhume the body. Trucker and Dinah Lee
try to tell Gwyn that Trisha is dead. Gwyn says they never checked the
dental record! Trucker said that he has come to grips with Trisha's
death. Gwyn is hysterical. She can't let go, she's her MOTHER. Trucker
says that the body in the car was wearing Trisha's wedding ring. And,
Trucker says, if she was alive, nothing would keep her from
Christopher. Gwyn says she doesn't know how to let go. She breaks
down and cries. She appologizes to them. They deserve to be happy. She
knows Trucker is right; Trisha deserves to rest in peace.

A penthouse with room service, Janie suggests. For someone that is not
used to this, she is getting comfy quickly, Cooper says. So, she has
been here before, Cooper asks. Cooper says is this where she and Clay
had a "thing" and he dumped her? Not quite, Janie/Tyra says. Look, the
meter is running, and it's attached to his wallet, Cooper says. No,
Janie says, it's attached to her feet. And if she leaves, so goes what
she knows about Deborah and Clay.

Angie tells him that this is not a personal Dear John letter. This is
about her heath. She thinks that the disease is progressing. She may
be very sick, Angie says. And he may get hit by a bus and loose his
legs, Charles says. He wants to live with her, in sickness or in
health. He wants to spend the future with her. He doesn't care...He
should care. If he moves in, he'll be the closest Frankie has had to a
father. What happens if...WHAT? Charles asks.

Dinah Lee is calling a cab since she left her car at Pins. He doesn't
want her to go. She figures that he wants some time alone. If he wants
to exhume the body, she says, if he agrees with Gwyn, he should feel
free to say that in her presence. He tells her that he went to Rome;
it's over. He wants to have a life with her. He wishes he could show
her how much he loves her. She says that she has all these
insecurities. He has an idea. He tells her to stay right there.

Janie/Tyra wants to go to her room. Cooper says that's what hotels are
for, so let's check her in. She wants to rest. That's what hotel rooms
are for. Gwyn comes in and Cooper stammers through a story about Tyra
being an old friend from Alden University, and there was a fire, and
she's homeless, and he figured that he could put her up for a couple
of days. Gwyn says that's nice. Gwyn asks about Tyra's family. Tyra
tells a story about being on her own and what her grandmother said.
Janie/Tyra is biting her fingernails. Gwyn says her daughter used to
bite her fingernails when she was younger. Gwyn and Janie/Tyra hit it
off and Gwyn says she has to check on her car repairs, but she'll look
her up when she gets back and maybe they can get to know each other.

Angie and Charles are at the hospital (doctor's office). Angie says it
takes a while for the blood test results. She wants him to think this
through, logically. If he's not here when she gets out, she'll
understand. She kisses him tenderly on the cheek, but Charles doesn't
kiss her back. She goes into the room to take the test. Charles
leaves.

Cooper rushes the bellboy out of the room. Cooper wants to talk about
Clay. Janie/Tyra is enamored of the place and Gwyn. Cooper wants to
talk about Clay. Gwyn comes in and is surprised to see Cooper. Cooper
leaves. Gwyn tells Janie that she has instructed the front desk to get
her anything she wants. Janie says this is amazing. She is awed. Gwyn
says she is in Suite 6-0, and they seem to jive right away. Gwyn leaves.
Janie mocks Gwyn and says Girl, if they could see you now. Janie calls
room service and orders the steak, shrimp, and oh, yeah, the lobster.

Trucker rummages through the toy box, finds something and tells Dinah
Lee that Chris won't mind, he loves her, too. (Debbie says that it's a
toy ring in a plastic bubble.) Trucker asks Dinah Lee to marry him.

Angie comes out and there is no Charles. She looks very sad. He comes
in and Angie gets the prettiest smile on her face. Charles tells her
the line at the gift store was too long. She was afraid he had
gone. No, he'll return like a bad penny. He wanted one with the blue
bristles that tells when it's time to change it. But, Angie says, she
doesn't need a toothbrush. He does. There are two things that he
needs, a toothbrush and...Slippers? Angie says. Yup. he'll move his
other things in later. Oh, Angie cries, is he sure? He's only sure of
the here and now. Like she said, there are no guarantees for the
future. If they have 5 minutes, 5 weeks, 55 years, he'll love her. Oh,
Charles, she says. The doctor comes out and tells them he has the
results of the blood test.
