Status: R

It's the Fourth of July, but you'd never know it...but then again, the
show is a day or two or three behind, so maybe they'll celebrate the
4th AFTER the OJ preliminary stuff is over, in November. :-(

Gwyn and Jeremy are going over a new ad campaigns. Angie and Frankie
come in and, at Angie's urging, Frankie appologizes for what happened
to Gwyn's car and offers to pay her back for the damages. Gwyn says
the insurance covered everything. And the deductible? Angie says. Ah,
Gwyn sighs. But, she adds, it's not his fault. It was the girl who
stole the car. Angie says she wonders what happened to Janie.

Meanwhile, the object of Angie's thoughts is outside the Alden
mansion, remembering overhearing the conversation between Steffi and
Cooper when they were discussing what Deborah has over Clay that would
make him marry her to keep her quiet. At poolside, Steffi comes up and
surprises Cooper (who is listening to music on headphones). The
fashion statement for today is that Steffi is wearing a barely-there,
two piece, very red bikini. The two of them banter; she is complaining
that he is not with her mother (he says she is shopping, Steffi says,
AGAIN?). Cooper tells her that Clay is not here, so she doesn't have
to lounge around, looking so nice. Lenox comes over with Janie. Cooper
asks if he knows her. No, she says, but she sure can help them!

Frankie offers to work for Gwyn to pay off the deductible. Tess takes
him on the grand tour. Gwyn and Jeremy ask Angie when she last saw
Janie. Angie tells them that Janie did not seem like the classic abuse
victum. She wasn't afraid, Angie says. She is ready to get out of the
situation. Angie asks Gwyn to not press charges. Gwyn appologizes, and
says that she had to file a police report, for the insurance. Angie
asks them to let her know if they police find Janie.

Janie says she knows more about Deborah than Deborah knows about
her. Steffi saysd you kow my mother? Janie sasys her throat is awfully
dry. Steffi gets her a glass of lemonaide. Janie is impressed with the
mansion. She asks them if they can swim whenever they want. Well, it's
seasonal, but yeah, Cooper says. Janie gets confortable. Cooepr says
she had something to tell them? Oh, yeah, Janie says, she knows why
that Clay guy married Deborah.

Tess concludes the tour. Frankie is impressed that she started with
nothing and now has a successful agency. Frankie wants the
job. Tesstells him this is not a cushy job, he'll be working hard. He
mentions that he like photography, he can shoot commercials,
promotional pieces, whatever she needs. Then the phone rang (oh, wait,
that was MINE). It was Debbie (minett@seismo.css.gov), telling me
LOVING was on at the regular time instead of 2:30 like it said in the
TV Guide. When I got back to the show, Frankie was hitting on Tess,
who told him to come back when he turned 30. The secretary came in
with a note from Cooper about dinner.

Steffi and Cooper ask Janie her name. She doesn't answer right
away. Steffi says not to worry, the questions get EASIER. She tells
them Tyra; but, she adds, sdon't tell Clay she was here. Why not?
Well, she knows him. And HOW did she come to know Clay and Deborah?
Steffi asks. What? Janie/Tyra asks, Cause I'm Black? We don't exactly
hang together, you know, she adds. But, she goes on, she knows Clay;
Very Well. Steffi wants to see Cooper alone. When they leave to go
inside, Janie stuffs food into her bag. Steffi and Cooper argue about
her creditibility. Steffi says she hasn't SAID anything yet. But, how
does she know they think Deborah has something on Clay. Cooper wants
to beleive her, Steffi is hessitant. Coope thinks Steffi is jealous,
cause they think Tyra is another of Clay's "conquests". Cooepr tells
Steffi they are in this together. They have to act quick, Cooper says,
or she'll leave. Outside, Janie/Tyra is nervous, wondering if they
called the cops. OF COURSE they called the cops, she conviences
herself. Time to jam, girl, she says. She leaves.

Steffi and Cooper stop her. They appologize for takign so long. They
want to hear what she has to say. She says no way! She was all set
when she came here, but what with this setup, adn the obvious money
involved, she knows what a man like Clay could do to her. Janie gets
them to set her up in the Corinth Towers (Cooper offered a cheap
hotel, she wants the protection of the Towers). Lenoz comes in and
says Tess is on the phone. Cooper tells Tess he cannot make dinner, as
Steffi is jesturing to him to hurry it up and get off the phone. Back
in Tess's office, Tess is upset and Frankie says that he likes Cooper,
but he's an accident that keeps on happening. He advises her that if
she sees him, to cross to the other side of the street.

Angie tells Jeremy and Gwyn that FGrankie will be a good worker. Gwyn
says maybe her filing will finally get done! Angie excuses her self to
make a phone call. Gwyn tells Jeremy she admires Angie. Just a while
ago, she was close to death and now she's up and about. Jeremy says
she'll be fine, as long as the disease doesn't come back. Gwyn falls
apart, into Jeremy's arms. About Trisha? Jeremy asks. Gwyn says she
knows it was all a plot by Curtis, but she found out that the body was
never identified. THERE IS A CHANCE. She's going on with the
exhumation.

Angie wants to move her appointment to Thursday. She is talking to her
doctor who tells her she has to monitor herself. Or she could die,
Angie continues for him. well, he wasn't gonna say that, he
says. Angie admits that she hasn't been feeling great lately.
