LOVING Speedy-Update for Friday, June 30:

STORYLINE: ANYONE FOR A GAME OF EIGHT BALL?
 (starting location: Stacey's house)
* A figure in a topcoat and helks picks up her keys, turns the light
off and walks out the door. We see that it is Stacey. As she gets
to the end of her patio, she is surprised by Curtis.
[At the Rodeo Bar.]
There is a knock at the door. Buck yells out that the place is closed.
The knock repeats, and Buck goes to the door. Tess storms in. Buck
reminds her that he just wanted the check dropped in the mail. Tess
says she has much more for him than a check.
* She says she wants to make a champagne commercial in the Rodeo, and
is willing to pay a location fee. Buck says the Rodeo isn't really a
champagne type of place. No matter: "Picture a beautiful woman and a
pool table." She climbs onto the pool table. Buck protests, but she
tells him that her outfit is wash-and-wear. Undaunted, she lays down
and continues: "Now picture a very handsome man, cue in hand, emerging
from the darkness. He stands in front of the beautiful woman, stroking
his cue, as she..." Buck moves over to the table and suggests that he
play the bouncer in the commercial and throw her out. She suggests
that the bouncer should sample the merchandise. "After all, this *is*
a table for two, isn't it?"
[At Stacey's house.]
Stacey says she must be going. Curtis came by to give her a present for
her support while he was DunEllyn. It is a tennis bracelet. She says
she can't accept it and hands it back to him. He offers to join her,
wherever she is going. She says she'll pass. He says she must be hot
in that trench coat. "Steaming." She leaves.
* None.
* [At the Rodeo bar.]
Tess pops a cork out of a champagne bottle. Buck protests that she is
going to get champagne on the pool table. He helps her down, and she
falls into his arms. Stacey enters the foyer, throws off the trench
coat and calls out to Buck. She enters through the swinging doors,
wearing only her shoes. She sees Buck and Tess and feebly tries to
cover herself. Tess says, "Well, if I had known it was going to be
*this* kind of party, I wouldn't have gotten dressed." Meanwhile,
outside, we see Curtis, who observed this whole scene, roll his eyes.

STORYLINE: KISS ME, YOU FOOL
 (location: Angie's house)
* Angie is on the phone, telling someone (presumably Charles) that she
is getting ready for a wedding. The doorbell rings. Angie hangs up
and opens the door. It is Jacob.
* Angie asks what she wants. Jacob pushes his way inside. She asks him
to get out. He wants to talk. "I am done talking to you. I want you
out of my house, out of my town, out of my life!" He wants to talk...
She says he has talked enough, and she is about to call the cops. He
says he thought she kept one at the house. "Funny." He knew Charles
was in Quantico, so he is there to talk about the *huge* mistake she
is about to make. She shows him the wedding invitation. "You aren't
getting on, so take a good look." She says she is marrying Charles in
less than two weeks. Jacob says he doesn't care if she is marrying
Michael Jordan; that doesn't change the facts -- that I love you and
 that you love me.
* She yells at him that she loves Charles and she is going to spend the
rest of her life with him. He points out that she doesn't sound happy
about it. "I *am* happy about it, damn it." He laughs and mocks that
line. She says she is angry at *him*. He says he used to fight with
Theresa like this, but they always ended up in bed -- did that ever
happen between her and Jesse? She says she has no intention of
discussing Jesse with him. He says Theresa had a lot of power over
him: that if he lost her, he would have nothing. He talks to her
about the power of just a look from her eyes. "Are you finished?"
He asks if she felt that. "How I feel about Charles is none of your
business." No, he wasn't talking about Charles.
* Jacob is walking toward Angie; Angie is backing off. He asks why she
hasn't admitted her feelings toward him. She says she has, why isn't
he getting it? He says he has the same feelings she has. She says he
doesn't give up. He says she will have to give in, sooner or later.
Sooner is better, because it will be more complicated later. She says
he has to leave. He says she is in denial. She says she is serious.
He says he is so serious it hurts. She slaps him, but he blocks it
and grabs her arms. They stare at each other for a minute, then they
kiss. She pulls back, and he lets her go. She looks at him and says,
"If you're waiting for me to say that the earth moved, you'll have a
long wait." No reaction? Does revulsion count? Yes. He goes to the
door. On his way out, he says, "You win. Have a nice life, Doc."
She stares off into the distance.

STORYLINE: BUN IN THE OVEN
 (location: Stephanie's hotel room)
* Stephanie tells Tony to let him go - it is her fiancee. "So you're
Carver, huh?" Cooper responds: Yeah, who are you. He says he is Tony
and he is keeping an eye on *his* body. Stephy gives Cooper a big hug.
* She says she can't believe he is here. He asks if he caught her at a
bad time. No! He asks who the pit bull is. Tony introduces himself
and says he is her bodyguard. Stephy asks him to leave. He says he'll
be next door if she needs him. As he leaves, he tells "Clinton" that
he is in for one big surprise. Stephy climbs all over Cooper; he says
they have to talk. He asks what is going on with Tony; Stephy says he
is just her bodyguard. He says he isn't just talking about 'Rocky,' he
wants to know about the stalker business. She says she didn't want to
worry him. He says he is there just to talk to her about that. She
says that Tony is there; Cooper says that doesn't make him feel that
much better. He says he has contacted Alden Enterprises security and
they will post someone on her door 24 hours a day. Stephy starts to
talk about protection...or the failure of protection... Cooper says
 he can't stay.
* Stephy says she has been miserable there, and she shouldn't have
stayed there. She talks about Ally, but that Casey's death made her
realize that life is so short. She has news for him--. Cooper
interrupts, saying that he has something important to say. Stephy
asks if he wants to hear her good news. Cooper says they were going
to always be honest with each other, and that if they ever met someone
else--. Stephy repeats that he shouldn't think that about Tony. No,
this is about me. I met another woman. Stephanie starts to cry.
He says he doesn't know how it happened. She asks if he is in love
with her. "I don't know, but I think I have to find out."
* "You're sorry? We are engaged to be married." Stephanie continues
to rant. She wants to know how this happened. She wants to know how
it happened with him being so busy in Paris. He says he didn't want
to lie to her, he wanted to be honest. She gets the newspaper photo
and asks if that is her. Yes. He starts to tell her how he met her,
and (needless to say) she doesn't want to hear it. She tells him to
leave. He says OK, and if she needs to talk... She says she *wanted*
to talk to him, to tell him something important. Then *tell* me.
No, it's no longer any of your damn business. She tells him to leave.
He leaves, slowly, while she is looking the other direction. When he
finally leaves, she goes to the door and *really* slams it. Tony
hears that and goes to the interconnecting door. He listens to her
through the door as she sits on the floor, crying.
