Subject: Loving Update for June 21, 1995

Neil is cooking dinner for Kate. He made one of the dishes with a
squiggle of this and a dollop of that. (Nouvel-Cuisine) He's also pouring
on the charm.

Gwen, looking at a picture of Trisha, goes to answer the door. It's
Clayton apologizing for being late. He hands her a bottle of wine.
Gwen: "Ah now, this is impressive, I love drinking wine that was bottled
before I was born."
Clay: "You mean that wine is thirty years old?"
Gwen doesn't want to talk about the past or their mistakes. "Why don't we
start over again, together?"

vTess is emptying a picnic basket. Jacob apologizes for not being good
company. Tess deduces it's "woman" problems and knows that it's not the
end of the story.

Angie is lighting candles while being pretty in pink. Charles comes to
the door, surprised. She says this is what their lives can be like. He
doesn't seem to believe but she reassures him that it's true. He slowly
picks her up and kisses her.

opening credits

They finish kissing and he stands back still looking puzzled. She says
that she wants to marry him and only him. He asks where Jacob Johnson
fits into all of this. (nothin' like ruinin' the mood!)

Jacob tells Tess that there really is something between him and Angie but
no one believes it. Tess says she's been in the room with the two of them
and practically got singed by the heat.
Tess: "You wanna know what I think it is, I think it's that once in a
lifetime thing you read about in books, but that I never personally
experience."
He gets out of the hospital bed and paces in his open-in-the-back gown.He
puts himself down for not letting things proceed normally and for pushing
too hard. Jacob feels that Charles is right, he doesn't have anything to
offer Angela. Tess says if he comes to work at the agency, writing music,
he'd have something.
Tess: "Not that I would throw Charles' slippers away from under my bed,
but umm, I think you've got the upper hand here. You have that Jessie
thing going."
He says it's not part of the solution but the problem. Tess figures out
he HAS used that fact- He wants to talk to Angie.

Clay pours the wine, doesn't know what to toast to, hope risk, or
stupidity. Gwen needs to make herself more clear. She starts talking
about Curtis coming home and having therapy on an outpatient basis. Clay
finally knows why she invited him over. She says they are family but he
still thinks Curtis is dangerous to her. He wonders if she wants him out
because she loves him or because her life is empty. She doesn't answer so
he takes a raincheck on dinner and leaves. (Guess What!) Curtis comes
out and tells her Clay isn't going to be pleased about their little
surprise.

Kate and Neil are finishing the main course of REAL food. He tells her
his wife taught him to cook. She never knew he had a wife because he never
came to the reunions. He says he came back to say hello to Kathryn
Zowolski. They tell each other about talking to their deceased spouses. Kate
decides to do some dishes. As she puts her apron on, he helps her tie it.

Tess is repacking the basket while jacob paces again trying to decide
what he's going to do about Angie. He thanks her for the job offer and
he'll think about it.
Tess: "I know you don't want to hear what I have to say, but I do speak
from bitter experience. If you see someone you want, forget the rules,
just do what you have to do, do you know what I mean?"

Angie's sitting on the bed thinking and drinking. Charles comes out of
the bathroom with nothing but a towel on. She asks what he wants her to
say. He wants to know what made her so sure it's him she wants. Angie
says she doesn't want Jacob in her life.(RRight!) Why does he question
her decision? He tells her to think about what she wants because once he
puts his arms around her, he's never going to let go. She walks over to
him and removes the towel. They kiss and the camera moves to the table.

Kate and Neil have finished cleaning the kitchen, listening to a song by
Tony Bennett. At first Kate thinks it's time to call it a day, but Neil
asks if that is what Louie would say. They start to dance cheek-to-cheek.

Curtis and Gwen are finishing dinner. They discuss Clay some more and
than Curtis leaves to go for a walk.

Tess is waiting at the bar for Wendel Barnes to arrive for their dinner
date. (Fancy restaurant, can't remember the name) The matre de tells her
Barnes called and he'll be an hour late. She starts to leave and runs
into Clay.

Back in the bedroom, Angie and Charles have finished "you know what." The
phone starts ringing. Charles says don't answer it but Angie thinks it
might be the hospital. Giggling, she answers it. Jacob tells her he wants
to see her, to talk to her. Charles asks who it is and she says it's the
wrong number and hangs up.......
