LOVING Speedy-Update for Friday, June 9:

STORYLINE: WHO'S THE NUT?
 (location: Stephanie's hotel room)
* Tess rants to two police officers that she has been after them for
weeks about the previous attacks, and now that the attacker has
"painted the bathroom in O-positive," she wants some action. A cop
tells her that it is ketchup, not blood.
* He says the bathroom looks like a "barbecue gone bad." The other cop
laughs, which sets Tess off. Stephanie asks her to stop. The cop
taunts her a bit about Cooper and Casey (!). When Tess asks them to
stop, they bring up that there is no physical proof of a breakin, and
that Stephanie is going through a rough time and might have "created"
the stalker. Tess says that is ludicrous. The cop says it wouldn't
be the first time. "I WON'T LISTEN TO THIS!" says Stephanie.
* "HOW DARE YOU?" Stephy runs the cops. The hotel manager asks them
to calm down. Tess says she will go to the press and say how lousy
the security is. The manager says it is the best in town and that the
officer had an interesting explanation. "OUT!" Tess herds them all
out of the room. Stephy says that the only thing that matters is that
Casey is gone. Tess says Stephy can help Ally, but someone has to help
Stephy. Stephy says that it must be a joker, using ketchup. Tess says
he is...or she is. Stephy asks if Tess believes she might have done
all of this. Tess says she knows Stephy likes publicity...but he is
nothing but a nutcase. Abruptly, Tess asks Stephy to go and get her
some gum -- she says she is going to be nervous talking to Ally.
Stephy thinks that is weird, but she leaves.
* Tess is on the phone with a "Tony," asking if he needs some work.
As Stephanie and the manager enter the room, Tess tones her voice down.
"When do I need you? Yesterday."

STORYLINE: CONFRONTING THE GUILTY
 (location: Hospital)
* A lady, Mrs. Fenelli(?), hands Ally Casey's "personal effects." Ally
asks her where Danny Roberts' room is.
* Kate says it isn't a good idea for her to see Danny. Ally says she
wants him to know what he did. Alex pleads for her to not see Danny.
"I have to." Alex leaves, leaving Ava in charge of not allowing Ally
to see Danny. Kate tells Ally they can go home, she has some meat loaf
ready to pop into the oven. Ally reminds her that was what she was
planning to make when she and Casey came home. Ally turns and goes
 into the corridor.
* Alex is on a pay phone, asking if Charles has checked in. He says
he is too much of a pain in the butt to die and hangs up. He asks a
nurse if she has seen Angie, the nurse hasn't, and says it might be her
day off. Ava walks up as Alex is pounding the pay phone; she tries to
cheer him up, but he says he doesn't remember the last time he felt so
bad. Ava says, "Take it from someone who has felt like a failure," it
doesn't help to play it over and over in your mind. She says he isn't
perfect, but he is pretty darn close. Alex says he isn't going to let
 Casey's death go unpunished.
* Ally goes into Danny's room. He is asleep. A guard comes in and says
she can't be in here. Kate enters and says she will take her home.
Ally says she had to see if he was "real." Kate says he is real, but
he can't hurt her any more. She says he hurts her every day. Kate
tells her to let that hate go, otherwise the Dannys of the world are
the winners. They hug, as Danny starts to wake up.

STORYLINE: JACOB'S CRAZY PLAN and FRANKIE'S TRUE CONFESSIONS
 (starting location: On the run...)
* Frankie pleads with Carolyn to let Angie go.
[At Tess' place.]
Jacob shows off his work, asking the man from the street, "What time do
you have, detective?" "A quarter til four," says the man, much better
dressed. Charles is dressed like a man from the street. Charles says
they had all better be good.
* Charles is mad that Angie and Frankie are involved. Jacob admits that
they wouldn't be staring down the barrel of a gun if she hadn't cared
so much about saving his life. Jacob says he is expendable, and that
Charles can tell Angie that the better man lost.
* [In a car in the woods.]
Frankie asks Angie if she has heard any jokes lately. No, have you?
None that he can tell his mother. "You can tell me anything." OK, he
starts to tell a joke. They both laugh. Angie assures him that they
will both make it. He says he has been thinking about Jesse. Angie
says he has grown up fast. She says she heard the man say something
about Bree being in the room. Frankie comments that she'll probably
kill him if the bad guys don't. Angie says that he is grown up now,
and if it was right, she can't say anything. She says they have too
much to look forward to now, like his graduation and her marriage, and
they'll make it out of this. Even so, says Frankie, they have a lot
 to talk about...
* Frankie says he knows he hasn't always been the best son. He brings
up something that happened years ago in San Francisco -- when he "ran
with a gang." He says he is different and would never do that again.
She says she understands, she was working around the clock. He says
he is sorry about how he acted when Charles came to town. He says he
was scared that he would lose her. She says she's his mother and she
is omnicient. Frankie tells her that he loves her. "I love you too,
sweetie." She says that if they lined up all the babies in the world
and told her she could pick whichever one she wanted, she'd pick him.
[At Tess' place.]
Jacob collapses. He says he took a bunch of painkillers; he probably
won't even feel the bullet if Carolyn shoots him. Charles grills the
man from the street, reminding him to keep his head low and his mouth
shut. "And what about the $100 we gave you?" "I'm gonna buy a condo."
Jacob says he's their man. Charles says, "Let's go get Angela and
 Frankie." They leave...
