The mystery unfolds	with Gwyn, Clay and Steve

[The lurker unlurks]

OK, believe it if you will (or won't) but I figured out who was spying on
Casey and Ally in the Loft yesterday, but I forgot to post it!!!

Casey is in the Loft as Ally enters with a bag of groceries wearing an
adorable one piece shorts outfit, looking like summer itself. Casey is
painting a white wooden rocking chair and Ally kisses him wondering why
he didn't come home last night? He was on a roll redoing the chair for
her, their first piece of furniture for the new house, and he didn't want
to stop. He glares a bit as he notices that Cooper has followed Ally
inside the Loft.

Ally explains that Cooper ran into her at the store and insisted on
giving her a ride. Casey doesn't mind and says he is even grateful since
he doesn't like Ally coming there alone. Cooper is surprised and teases
Casey ... what, no punch in the face? ... Casey looks down his nose
at Cooper while Ally explains that Casey is a changed man. Cooper teases
a little more ... Really? Casey I'm worried about you. No punch? ...
nope, my hands are full ... no hi karate kick? ... they banter and Cooper
finally tells them that he brought them a housewarming present ... I know
how you hate it when I throw the Alden money around so I brought you
something symbolic ... he opens the big box which is wrapped in a gold
foil ... a loaf of bread, wine and salt ... Ally thinks it's sweet and
Cooper jokes ... yeah, I was going to get you those little bowls with the
little spoons but I envinsioned Casey hurling them at me and decided no
... they laugh - Casey cracks an unenthusiastic dry smile. Cooper also
had a fly swatter attached to the box and when Ally asks him what it's
for he laughs as he swats himself in the face ... why to get rid of
Tyler's father when he becomes a pest like right now ...

Ally admonishes Casey for hanging out at the Loft all night alone, reminding
him that it was recently broken into, and we get the view from upstairs as
the door opens and the lurker peers down on the unsuspecting trio. When
all of a sudden they hear something go boom upstairs.

Casey, all serious, goes to investigate while Cooper hangs back, all
jokes, saying he'll stay with the women and children - but Ally and
Cooper both follow Casey up the stairs, and Cooper tries to give Casey
the fly swatter for protection. :)

We see a shadow duck behind the HUGE facial shot of Steffi as the three
stooges enter. Ally is worried, Cooper is clowing, and Casey is serious.
Casey finds a sprung mouse trap and blames the noise on that, and Cooper
quips that it's one smart mouse to get the cheese without dying. Casey
goes downstairs leaving Ally and Cooper there as Cooper walks over to the
photo of Steffi and smiles. Ally notices and questions him about how
Steffi is doing. Cooper sings her praises and Ally comments on their
closeness and Cooper sighs ... I'm not the man of this girl's dreams ...
Are you sure? ... no answer.

Cooper tells Ally the whole story about the jail stay, then why they
tried to get into the safety deposit box (Deborah's hold on Clay) and all
that stuff. They joke about the mouse again, Cooper says ... You know mice
grow up to be big RATS! (lurking writers saying hello?) ... If you skipped
Biology you'd know that wasn't possible! And they laugh their way downstairs.

We see the shadow come from behind the boxes, and a pair of legs clad in
faded jeans start to walk towards the door, the camera pans upwards and
we see a shapely derierre, up to a tank top, and finally the face - it's
Janie! She watches the scene below, munches on the cheese she took from
the mousetrap and listens as they chat about the house and Tyler. She takes
out a memo pad which she scribbles something ...

	Casey and Ally Bowman
	Steffi
	Clay
Deborah }	Big Secret! Big Money!
	Cooper

[The plot uncovered]

Cut to Rome. Trucker is seated in the only cafe in town in his dress
clothes which consist of a stiped button down oxford short and chinos,
sipping a solitary cup of coffee when Dinah Lee enters! She's wearing a
yellow sundress which accentuates her lack of posterior but abundance of
anterior. She comes up to Trucker from behind and hugs him. He turns
in surprise and greets her warmly with a hug. They sit and she explains
to him that it's over ...

She tells him about Curtis setting everything up, that it was fake.
Trucker doesn't believe it and presses her for details which she doesn't
have and she finally talks him into dropping the whole thing, but only
after we listen to how he really believed all of those signs were from
his beloved Trisha. Dinah Lee tells him that she understands this is
rough, and he says yeah, but he'll get over it if she stays with him.
Smiles and caresses.

She asks if he wants to sightsee in Rome for a few days or come home with
her? He opts for Corinth. But as they leave, he remembers the white
dove that he saw at the same cafe the previous day and you can tell that
he's still got some lingering doubt ...

[The mystery unfolds]

We open with Clay in the living room of the Alden Mansion, sipping coffee
from a china cup, staring at the portrait of himself and Deborah above
the mantel. The doorbell rings and a distraught Gwyn launches herself
into Clay's startled embrace. She crying hysterically and is incoherent.
Clay thinks it's about Jeremy, but Gwyn says only Clay would understand.
She starts babbling about Trisha. ... Jeremy wasn't there when I
conceived Trisha, or when she was born, or when I held her hand as the
frightened young girl went to her first day of school, or when I held her
bike as she tried to ride a two-wheeler terrified that she would fall ...
Clay is obviously puzzled about what caused her anxiety about Trisha ...
Clay, yesterday I was filled with the same elation as when I was
expecting Trisha. Clay wonders what this is all about? ... Clayton,
yesterday I believed Trisha was alive! ... What? Why? ... Curtis ... and
she breaks down in tears.

We next see the two seated on the couch as Gwyn is explaining that Curtis
is really still sick and that he has never gotten over Dinah Lee and that he
plotted to make Trucker think that Trisha was still alive. She recounts
the acorns and wildflowers saying there is more but she can't remember.
(I thought that was good and pretty realistic.) Clay is concerned. Gwyn
also tells him that Trucker is in Rome because Jeff Hartman is there, but
neglects to tell him that Jeff was released on the same day as Trisha's
accident. And she blurts out the exhumation plans. She apologizes for
not telling him sooner, but he understands that she didn't want to get
his hopes up. He assures her that he will help Curtis, after she tells
him that she promised Curtis that she would help him but that she's not
sure if she can.

Which brings Clay to a soliloquy expounding on his inadequacy of fatherly
deeds. He vows to be there for Curtis this time. Gwyn turns and stares
in horror at the portrait hanging above the mantle and asks ... Is that a
joke? ... Do I look like I'm laughing? ... I've stopped myself a hundred
times from asking this question ... then don't ... but why did you marry
that woman? ... I have my reasons. Some that I'm not very proud of ...
And at that, he ushers Gwyn out of the house with promises to help
Curtis.

Later, Clay is welcoming a new guest to the mansion and it's Vicky's old
boyfriend from Llanview! Well, now he has something to do with the
Corinth Police and his name is Steve. Clay puts him on the defensive
immediately ... Steve, I understand that there has been an exhumation of
my daughter Trisha ordered ... Yes, by Det. Masters and Mr. MacKenzie ...
Why wasn't I informed of this? ... I assumed Det. Masters and Mr.
MacKenzie conferred with you ... Never assume anything. Your job is to
keep me informed of anything involving my family. There will be no
exhumation. My daughter is to rest in peace! ... Yes, Clay. ... And
one other thing. I also learned that her body was never properly
identified. ... Now Clay that was truly an oversight ... Hmmm ... Unlike
the first incident that brought us together. ... Steve, you are *NEVER*
to bring that up ... Yes, Clay. ... Clay subtly threatens him some more
and he takes his leave, leaving us to further ponder this dasterdly deed
that hangs over Clay's head ...

That's it for Tuesday!
