Subject: LOV: Update for Friday, June 24, 1994
Status: R

Here is the Friday update. I just love bouncing around the week :-)
But at least I get the GOOD cliff-hanger and Debbie is doing B&W
commentary.

Dinah Lee is worried that Trucker hasn't called yet. Buck tries to
calm her. She says she can't think about anything except that Curtis
did this! The door bell rings. It's probably Ava, she said she'd stop
by. It's Curtis.

Trucker sees Shana and Leo. He said he's sorry that he called them so
late. It's okay Shana says, they're still on Corinth time, or Las
Vegas, she's not even sure. Shana says this is the cafe. If he has a
photo, the head waiter might be able to identify her. Trucker is
scared. That it might not be? Shana asks. Yeah, and that it might be.

Meanwhile, Jeff is in confession, he apologizes that it's so late.
Bless me father, for I have sinned....

Clay asks what the party is about. She says it's to tell everyone why
they got married, silly. Is this to get even with him for bailing
Steffi out? No, she's happy he brought them. They should hear this,
too. Clay tells her he married her to keep her mouth SHUT. She poo
poos him and turns to the guests and asks for their attention.

She thanks them all for coming and says you know Clay and I were
recently married. She wants to tell them about the bond that brought
them together, the bond that will keep them together forever. It's
love. Not just the love between a man and a women, but the love of
family, of community. Like Cabot and Isabelle had. So, it feels like
they have passed the torch. So, in honor of them...she pulls a rope
and reveals a huge portrait of her and Clay that she put up where
Cabot's and Isabelle's used to be. A small round of applause insues.

Curtis tried to apologize. He just wants to talk to her. Buck says
he's not welcome. Chris comes running down stairs calling for Daddy!
Buck says not yet, champ. Soon. Curtis gives an impassioned plea,
about needing help, like Angie and she said, but not getting it until
it was too late. Dinah Lee has her back to him, trying to hold back
the tears. She tells him that he helped her, she was scared to love,
but he showed her how. Well, he says, maybe there is hope for him. No,
she says as she slaps him, you are the ultimate hopeless case!

Jeff tells the priest that he met a woman he knew before, and she
didn't recognize him, but they went away and they fell in love
again. But, he just found out that the family thinks she is dead. Why
didn't he tell the family before? When he saw her, she looked beat up,
he knows the husband, and he has a bad temper, and he was afraid for
her. Jeff tells him that he has a reservation on a flight out of
town. What if the family follows him? The priest asks if Jeff loves
her enought to let her go?

Shana tells Trucker that the head waiter left. Trucker is frantic. He
HAS to talk to Jeff, NOW! Leo suggests that a few hours won't
matter. Trucker wants to find him NOW...he can't wait. He tells them
that Jeff was released the day Trisha died. Shana suggests that all
the things that happened in Corinth could be a coincidence.

Mr. & Mrs. Barnes complement Deborah on the painting, telling her it
was a grand jesture. Mrs. Barnes says she is sure Clay was pleasantly
surprised. Clay takes Deborah aside and tells her to get rid of these
people, and get on the phone and get the charges against Steffi
dropped! Deborah says Steffi is getting close...if they hadn't stopped
her at the bank. Meanwhile, Steffi and Cooper are talking about their
plan. By the time he's done, Cooper says, Deborah will think that he's
the son she never had. Steffi goes to Clay and tells him it's a
terrific likeness. Stop, Steffi, he says. She coos that it's a great
"jesture". She says she KNOWS her mother is using him. Meanwhile,
Cooper is telling Deborah that he's just about had it with Clay.

Dinah Lee is yelling at Curtis. To USE your own SISTER to break up two
PEOPLE! Well, he's sick! He suggests. NO! SHE'S SICK! Sick of
him...she never wants to see him again.

Trucker wants to search all over Rome for Jeff. Did they see which way
he went? No, they left before he did. Wait, Leo says, if he used a
credit card, he had to write down his address. Shana complements
him. He offers to go ask. No, her Italian is better than his, but let
her call to check on Patti. She finds out Jeff called and left a
number at the front desk.

Deborah is saying goodbye to the guests. What an evening! Kinda grows
on you, doesn't it? Like a fungus, Clay says. Now, take it down and
replace it with the portrait of his parents. They're resting
comfortably. PUT IT BACK! Or she'll be "resting" in the basement.

Buck tells Curtis to leave. He just wants to say one more thing. She
doesn't want to hear anymore. He yells that she'll only be
second-best! Trucker loves Trisha, he always has, he always will!
Trucker's in Rome, she's here. Buck throws him out. She never should
have talked to him. But, Dinah Lee sobs, he's right!

Shana calls her hotel for the phone number of Jeff's hotel. She calls
the hotel. Trucker leaves (for the hotel :-)) Jeff comes into his
room, and sees Trisha. The phone has the weirdest ring. He answers,
Pronto. Hi, Jeff, she says, It's Shana. Oh, good, Shana, Jeff says. He
needs to talk to her.
