Welcome to the Wednesday, June 15, 1994 Loving Update. This will be my
last Wednesday update. I'm switching to Thursdays starting next week.
Deb Graham will be doing the Wednesday updates.

Angie's room in the hospital in Boston

Angie's blood count is doing better. She's responding well to treatment.
Charles arrives. He is glad to hear that she is doing well and he assumes
the danger is past. Angie says not yet.

In the hallway outside Angie's room in the hospital in Boston

Frankie and Janie run into each other. Janie wants to see Angie, Frankie
blames her for everything that happened to him mom.

In the woods where Trisha's car crashed

Trucker and Alex are looking at the crash site. Trucker has to know if
Trisha's still alive. Alex calls the medical examiner to get information
from Trisha's death certificate. Trucker is having a hard time with the
whole thing. Alex tells him that they can stop the investigation any time
Trucker wants.

The Tides

Ava and Dinah Lee meet. Ava asks Dinah Lee if she'd like to talk to Trisha.
Dinah Lee says that Trisha is dead. Ava says she knows that, but when she
was in a coma she contacted the other side, maybe she can do it again.

Opening Credits

Hospital Hallway

Frankie and Janie continue going at each other. Janie says that she saved
Angie's life. Frankie says she's an accomplice. Etc. Etc. Etc. Frankie
says you took her money and you stole my car! Janie says she didn't know
his name was Gwyneth Alden. :-) Frankie tells her to get the hell out.
Not until she sees Angie. You have to get past me first.

Angie's Room

Chas: What are you talking about, Angela? You're doing fine, you're getting
better.
Angi: For now.
Chas: What's that supposed to mean?
Doc: We're still not sure what caused Angie's condition.
Chas: She's responding to treatment....

Hospital Hallway

The argument is getting heated. They're starting to yell.

Angie's Room

Angi: The transfusions are only good for about 4-6 weeks, isn't that right
doctor?
Doc: I'm afraid so. If your blood count doesn't drop, it will mean that
the aplastic anemia was an acute response to a toxic substance.
Angi: And if it does drop...?
Doc: We could be looking at a chronic condition. Which would require a more
agressive treatment. Drug therapy to begin with. Probably ATG.

Hospital Hallway

Still at it.

Angie's Room

Angi: If the ATG doesn't work, the other option is a bone marrow transplant.
Doc: You'll need a donor, you should start a search, just in case. The
closest match would be a sibling.
Angi: I'm an only child.
Doc: The young woman that was in here yesterday? She said she was your
sister.
Angi: She needed to see me, and only family members were allowed to see me.
Doc: Well, since you have no siblings, I'll contact the Registry.
Chas: What's that?
Doc: The national bone marrow donor registry.
Chas: You can put her on as many lists as you want, Doc, but she won't be
needing a donor.
Angi: We don't know that.
Chas: The worst is over, baby, I'm sure of it.

Hospital Hallway

The argument continues....

Angie's Room

The doctor has contacted a hematologist in Corinth, Angie knows him. He'll
be monitoring Angie's condition in Corinth. Charles wants to know when they
can head back to Corinth. The doctor is discharging Angie this morning.
Angie is delighted to be going home. The argument is finally audible in the
room. Charles opens the door. Janie and Frankie spill into the room.
Angi: Frankie, what are you doing to her?
Fran: I'm trying to get rid of her. Now get out before I throw you out!
Jani: You better just...
Angi: Janie, Frankie, Janie's been in an accident, she's still recovering.
Janie suddenly feels faint. Angie and Charles help her sit down. Frankie
is sure Janie is faking. Angie is on Janie's side.

The Tides

Ava and Dinah Lee go in. Nobody's home. Dinah Lee isn't really comfortable
with all of this. She doesn't want to mess around with this stuff. Ava
says she knows, that's why she hired a professional. The doorbell rings.
Ava opens the door. Hello, Mrs. Quack - er-Quakenbush. Introductions are
made. Mrs. Quakenbush remembers Dinah Lee. Dinah Lee doesn't remember her.
Mrs. Quakenbush was called by Gwyn when Curtis was missing. She had very
strong feelings about Dinah Lee during that time. Dinah Lee says that she
and Curtis are separated now. Mrs. Q says she knows. Sometimes these things
are for the best. Dinah Lee says, smiling, you really think so. Ava says
that she told Mrs. Q all about Dinah Lee and Trucker and Trisha. Dinah Lee
wishes Ava hadn't done that, she doesn't know Mrs. Q. Mrs. Q says they're
not strangers any more. She can feel Dinah Lee's pain, and she'd like to get
to the source of it. How would you do that? asks Dinah Lee. I want to hold
a seance. Where? Here? We can't Trucker could be back any minute!
Oh, he won't, says Mrs. Q. He's very preoccupied right now, he'll be gone
for some time. Dinah Lee isn't sure. Mrs. Q asks Dinah Lee if she wants to
find out what's been going on. If it really has been Trisha sending these
messages to Trucker. Dinah Lee looks worried.

In the woods

Trucker says that he can't stop now. I've got to find out if Trisha didn't
really die in that accident. Alex says, okay, but remember what I said.
Trucker says he does. Alex asks Trucker to tell him everything that happened
that day. Not to leave anything out.
Well, I was supposed to meet Trisha up at the cabin. And I was driving, and
there was a lot of traffic, so I called the cabin to let her know I was going
to be late, and there was no answer, and then I saw what was holding up
everything. It was an accident. A car had swerved off the road. {We see
flashbacks of Trucker finding Trisha's car, and the firefighters holding
him back from the scene.}
We see a miserable Trucker reliving that moment. Alex pats him on the back
and asks if he's okay. Trucker nods.

Angie's Room

Frankie wants to know why Angie is helping Janie, she should be in bed. Angie
tells Frankie that she's fine. They're releasing her today. Frankie is
pleased. Janie is unhappy. Frankie wants to hit the road. Angie says she'd
like a word with Janie first. Charles and Frankie head out to check on Gwyn's
car. Frankie has one last word for Janie. They leave. Angie asks Janie
what was going on with Frankie. She says that Frankie just blames her for
everything. Angie says that Frankie can be a little protective. A little!
exclaims Janie. He practically picked me up and threw me down the hall.
And in my condition.... Angie tells Janie that Frankie isn't like Wilson,
or any other man that you've known. Janie says that it must be nice to
have somebody that cares so much. She's never had that. Angie wants to know
what Janie wants. The doctors are kicking Janie out and she doesn't have
anywhere to go. Angie says that staying in the hospital isn't a solution.
Janie says it would be until she figures out what to do. Angie says that the
hospital is overcrowded as it is, and there are other places that Janie can
go. Janie nixes halfway houses. She says they're charity slums. Angie
wants to know if Janie had a bad experience in one. Janie says she can take
care of herself, she always has and she always will! Angie says that Janie
just told her that she couldn't. Janie says that she hit her head hard in
the crash and she doesn't know what she's saying. Just forget that she was
here. Forget that she ever knew her. Janie, wait a minute. You're not going
back to Wilson, are you? He did more for me than anyone else ever has.
Janie, you can do better. Janie says, you're right. Maybe I'll just follow
in your footsteps. I'll take the first bus to med school. I'll call you
when I become a brain surgeon. We'll do lunch. Ta-ta. Janie leaves.

Janie runs into Wilson in the hallway. She wants to know how he found her.
He says that when she didn't come back he figured she'd be hanging out
checking up on Angie. He realizes that she's in a bathrobe. What happened?
I was in a car crash. I'm okay. Now stay away from me. Wilson says he
put a lot on the line to see her. She says, yeah, and if he sticks around
too long, he's going to be busted. Please go. He says he doesn't care
about that, just her. She says don't do this to me.
He whines to her some more. He says that he needs her, he can't make it
without her. He needs her so bad. He says he kicked the drinking habit.
He wants another chance. He promises that he'll be good for her. Just
come back to me.

The Tides

Mrs. Q, Ava, and Dinah Lee are holding hands around the table starting the
seance. Mrs. Q calls to Trisha. Dinah Lee and Ava are looking around the
room. :-) Mrs. Q asks for a sign from Trisha, anything to let them know
that she's there. Mrs. Q gasps. She sees a light, a glorious light. She
is seeing some old familiar faces, long gone. What about Trisha? Do you
see her too?

Angie's Room

She's officially discharged. The nurse leaves and Angie picks up her
suitcase. She finds the wooden carving that Janie gave her. Charles comes
into the room. They kiss. Gwyn's car is ready to drive, they're ready to
leave when she is. Where's Frankie? He's at the cafeteria getting some lunch.
They'll take a taxi to the repair shop and then they'll head back to Corinth.
Frankie comes in carrying a sack with a long look on his face. What's wrong?
Frank: Saw Janie's chart.
Angie: What were you doing looking at Janie's chart.
Frank: She's been hurt before, Ma.
Angie: What do you mean?
Frank: The doctors say she's been abused.
Angie: Oh, no. Charles, look, will you get Janie for me?
Charles heads out.
Angie: Frankie, I appreciate you telling me about Janie, but a patient's
medical information is confidential.
Frank: I thought she was faking it.
Angie: No, her pain is real, and it has been for a long time.
Charles comes back in. Janie left the hospital about 15 minutes ago with
Wilson. Frankie asks who Wilson is. Angie says her boyfriend, and probably
her abuser. Frankie wants to go after them, but Charles stops him. If the
cops catch Janie and Wilson together, they'll both go to jail, and Angie
doesn't want that. Angie tells them that Janie gave her the carving to keep
her from harm. She wishes she could return it, because Janie is the one
who's going to need it.

The Tides

Mrs. Q doesn't see Trisha. Why not, asks Ava? She's not there, not yet.
Are you saying that she's not dead?

In the woods

Trucker hadn't realized how hard this was going to be. He needs to get out
of there. Alex asks Trucker what he wants to do. Trucker starts to tell
Alex to drop the investigation. Alex's phone rings. It's the medical
examiner. No dental records were ever used to confirm the ID of the person
in Trisha's car. They just presumed that it was Trisha's body. Trucker
is stunned.
