LOVING Update for Friday, June 10:

STORYLINE: SISTER JANIE?
           (location: Hospital in Boston)
* [In Angie's room]
Charles asks the doctor if Angie has been behaving herself. "For the
most part." Angie says she'd rather be the doctor than the patient.
She asks where Jeremy is; Charles says he went back to Corinth but has
requested daily updates. Angie says she knows this is just small talk
to avoid the bad news. The doctor pipes up that he actually has some
good news -- Angie's hematocrit and hemoglobin are responding very
nicely to the transfusion. Angie asks about the bone marrow tests and
the doctor says they'll have the results later this morning.
Janie enters. The doctor asks, "May I help you, miss?" Janie answers,
"Oh, it's OK. I'm her sister." Charles looks astonished, while Angie
 forces a pained smile.
* The doctor says he didn't know she had a sister in town. Angie says,
"It's a surprise to me, too. You really shouldn't have bothered, sis."
The doctor leaves. Angie says, "Well, sister Jane, long time, no see."
Janie apologizes -- she had figured they were only letting family in,
but she really has to talk to Angie. "I really want to talk to you,
too." Charles gets the hint and steps aside, telling Janie to knock
herself out. Jamie asks Angie if she would ask Gwyneth to drop the
charges for stealing her car. Charles says, "No, she couldn't." Janie
appeals to Angie, but she says Charles is right -- that Gwyneth is a
fair person, but it is her decision whether to press the charges.
Janie says, "Thanks anyways." Angie asks how she is doing. "I'm OK."
She tells Angie that she was just banged up a bit. Charles says she
must be getting out soon; he doesn't like seeing Angie's little sister
in the hospital. Janie says, "But you sure wouldn't mind seeing her
in jail, would you?" Charles takes the opportunity, standing up and
asking Janie why someone would want her put in jail.
* Janie says people go to jail for stealing cars. Charles counters
by saying that people go to jail for robbery and kidnapping -- for a
lot longer. He says he knows the whole story. Janie asks if she gets
any points for bringing Angie to the hospital. Angie says she does,
and says she won't press charges against Janie. Angie tells Janie
that it took a lot of guts to stand up to the boyfriend and to risk
going to jail. She says she is grateful; Charles says he is, too.
Angie says she hopes she has the sense to stay away from that guy.
Janie says she told him good bye. Angie says that's good; it is a
whole new beginning for her. Janie says, "Yeah, a beginning in jail."
She is sure Gwyn will press charges. Angie says she will talk to Gwyn
and she doesn't think Gwyn will be too hard on Janie when she heard how
she saved her life. Janie thanks Angie.
Angie then gets on her soapbox, telling Janie that Wilson is the one who
should be in jail. Janie says he's not *that* bad, but Angie says he
is a thief and an alcoholic and worse. The only reason Angie isn't
going to press charges against him is that he'll wind up in jail soon
enough without her. Angie overheard Janie tell Wilson that she isn't
anything like him, and she says that she was right. Angie says Janie
is bright and decent, and she wants to help Janie make something of
herself. Janie says she'll be OK. Angie tries again, but Janie says,
"Look. I did you a favor, you did me a favor. So let's just call it
even, OK?" Janie turns and leaves.
* [In a hallway.]
Janie tells Dr. Morris (a different doctor) that she is a little bit
dizzy. Morris says he's not surprised; he just looked at her X-rays
and though there doesn't seem to be any damage from the auto accident,
she had previously broken ribs and a nightstick fracture of the ulna.
He asks who hurt her. "Noone." He says he just wants to help, and
there's nothing to be afraid of here. Janie says she is always falling
down and bumping into things. Janie says she is "accident-prone."
Morris, smiling, says that none of those injuries were caused by
falling down. Janie says she has never been hit by a nightstick, and
Morris answers that these are "definite signs of abuse." "I haven't
been abused." "If you say so." "I say so." Morris gives Janie the
phone number of a social worker (over her protests), as he gets called
to emergency. Janie drops the card into a trash can.
[In Angie's room.]
Her doctor tells her that the tests for leukemia came back negative, but
they did indicate aplastic anemia. That can be caused by exposure to
drugs or a toxic environment. The doctor wants a list of any drugs she
has taken or any possibly harmful elements she has been exposed to. As
Charles questions the doctor, he says that, at best, this could be a
first and last occurrance. Angie asks for the worst. Charles tries to
stop her, but Angie says she knows a little something about this, and
that "I could die, couldn't I?" [The doctor answers that she will die
if she wants to be written off the show. :-) ]

STORYLINE: THELMA AND LOUISE II
           (location: Pins)
* Ava is helping Dinah Lee at the bar, filling in for Kate. Kate enters
and asks how Ava is doing. DL says he hasn't broken a single glass.
Ava asks Kate if she didn't set her up for some rehabilitation; Kate
turns away and says, innocently, "what?" Ava asks if she intended for
her to forget about Uncle Harry's predictions. Kate says that wasn't
her prime objective, but it can't hurt. Ava says it is better left in
the past and forgotten anyway. DL asks if she has forgotten yet. Ava
says she hasn't, but she will. Dinah Lee says, "Hmm. Well, if I were
you, I wouldn't try to let go of something until I knew it was really
finished." Surprised looks from Ava and Kate.
* Kate says that Ava is going to join a group of accident victims. Kate
sends Ava off to do an errand (actually so she can talk to Dinah Lee).
Kate tells DL that she *thought* she was her friend, and asks *what*
she is doing. Dinah Lee defends herself by equating Ava's situation
with Trucker's, and Kate now gets it. She asks if they are having some
problems. DL tells Kate that weird things are happening, as if Trisha
is here, and until he stops denying it, he isn't going to let go. Kate
tells her to help him, and DL says she can't compete with a dead woman.
Kate points out that, with Alex and Ava, he has shown her what their
future can be like together. Kate continues the lecture, asking what
DL would be willing to give ("only about everything"), then ends it
with, "What is it you kids say? 'Go for it, girl!'" She hugs Dinah
Lee, and both of them laugh.
* Sitting at a table, but still in the lounge area, Ava tells Dinah Lee
that Alex thinks Uncle Harry's prediction about somebody dying was
actually about Ava *almost* dying. She tells Dinah Lee that she is
supposed to cool it about the *other* predictions... DL asks what she
means about other predictions. "Other things, like he was telling me.
People I know, places, names... I just can't remember." Dinah Lee
suggests that she get hypnotized. She says she just saw it in a movie:
_The Seventh Veil_: the heroine gets hypnotized and gets her memory
back (while Ava is incorrectly guessing all of the names of the actors
and actresses in the movie). Dinah Lee says she always wanted to try
it, and she takes her necklace off. Ava thinks it is ridiculous, at
first, but DL starts waving the necklace in front of her face, and she
relaxes. Dinah Lee says (almost chants), "Relax. You're getting
sleepy. Your eyelids are getting heavy, and you just want to sleep.
Relax. Concentrate. [Ava's eyes close.] It would be *so* nice to
just *sleep*." Ava is asleep. Dinah Lee is amazed. She asks if Ava
can hear her. No response. "OK. I want you to picture your Uncle
Harry. See him. Do you see him?" Ava gets a troubled look on her
face. "All right. I want you to hear him talking. Hear his voice.
He's saying, 'Something will happen to...Alex?'" Ava slowly shakes
her head no. "'...Jeremy?'" Still no. Dinah Lee reluctantly asks,
"'...Dinah Lee? ...Trucker?'" Ava pipes up, "Oh my God!" Dinah Lee
practically jumps out of her seat. "Look at my nails. I really need
a manicure. They're a disaster area." Dinah Lee doesn't think this is
very funny; Ava says, "Gotcha!" Ava can't stop laughing, while DL
 keeps saying, "That's sick."
* They are back at the bar now. Ava says she is going to leave the past
*in* the past. Dinah Lee says that's nice. Ava asks what's wrong, and
DL leaves to call Trucker (who, she says, should be at the bike shop by
now). Kate enters with a message from Sandy: "when is Mommy coming
home?" Ava says that's sweet. Then, she remembers Uncle Harry saying,
"Someone's coming home." She drops the glass she was wiping. Kate
asks if Ava is OK, and Ava proclaims, "Mama, that's it! That's it!
The other things that I was trying to remember that Harry told me.
That's it. [Dinah Lee re-enters the shot.] I remember now. He said
somebody is coming home!" Dinah Lee looks troubled...

STORYLINE: VCR ALERT!
           (location: "Milan, Italy")
[Fourth segment only.]
* Jeff Hartman is making a phone call. No answer. A bellhop enters and
says he hopes he enjoyed his stay in Milano. He asks if he got to see
any of the sights, and Jeff says this trip was mostly business. The
bellhop picks up a bouquet of flowers similar to those Trucker laid on
Trisha's grave, and Jeff says *he* will take those. The bellhop says
they are very pretty, and Jeff says they are for a very pretty lady.
"I tried giving her roses, but wildflowers are her thing." The bellhop
says they are very delicate, and Jeff says he hopes they hold up until
he gets back to Rome. The bellhop takes his bag and leaves. Jeff
says, "I can't imagine where she could be."

STORYLINE: TRUCKER ASKS FOR SOME ADVICE
           (starting location: The Tides)
* Trucker has some flowers. Buck says that Dinah Lee will like them.
Trucker tells him that they aren't for DL. Buck tells Trucker that he
moves fast -- and who is the new girl? Trucker says the're for Trisha.
* [At the cemetary.]
Trucker lays the flowers among others at Trisha's grave. Buck stands
aside, and Trucker talks to the headstone: "Honey, I'm here because --
Trisha, this is so hard. You've always been such a big part of me --
of my life, and you always will be. You know that, don't you? But,
lately, you've been so close, it seems. I feel almost like you've been
watching me. Honey, I always prayed that wherever you were, you were
happy. But now, I'm starting to think: am I hurting you, sweetheart?
I guess there's no way you wouldn't be hurt, huh? When I'm making love
 to someone else.
* "I know that maybe Dinah Lee isn't the person you would have picked
for me, but, if you'd gotten to know her, I really think you would have
liked her. And I feel very good with her. I mean, I really think that
we can have a chance together. But we won't, if-- I just -- I really
need to know that it's all right with you, honey, because I can't go on
feeling this kind of--" Buck sees Trucker struggling. He pats him on
the back and asks what Trisha had to say. "Nothin'." Buck says she
spoke to him: "Buck, could you please tell Trucker that he's got pollen
all over his shirt? That's no way to come visit a lady." He brushes
it off. Then, she said, "Would you please tell him to stop feeling
guilty because he's alive. I love him, Buck. Anything that makes him
happy makes me happy. Can't he see that?" Buck "answered" to Trisha,
"You know the old Truck. He'll be a tough case." Then she said, "Do
whatever you can." Buck says she got through to him and she made a lot
 of sense. He hugs Trucker.
* [At The Tides.]
Trucker thanks Buck for the ride. Buck tells him to take the rest of
the day off; he can finish up at the bike shop. Trucker thanks him
again, saying that going to Trisha's grave always tires him out. They
turn toward the door, and the bouquet of flowers he put on Trisha's
grave are sitting on the doorstep. Trucker looks back at Buck...
