(I can't believe Prodigy only lets me send part of this
file...well, here's part 1)

Well, Debbie had promised to do today's update for the
regular updater but she had high tea with her daughter
today, so she asked me to do it instead. Seems like old
times, except this was done from tape and not real-time.
Hope I haven't lost my touch. I'll also be back to do CAZ's
every other Tuesday until she can get out from the well she
fell into - but you don't want to hear all these details,
you want the update...

Frankie tells Charles that it was Charles' car that ran
Jacob down. Charles thinks it was the same model. No,
Frankie says, it was the same CAR!

Deborah asks Clay for "one little thing" she can do for the
family.

Ava, in her office, looks at a picture of Alex. She looks up
and sees a white flag flying in the doorway. He wants to
declare a truce. He says he is sorry. She says it's not so
easy. He yells that he said he was sorry. She says that's
good; yell at her. Alex tells her that he is not gonna sleep
on the couch again tonight. Oh, she says, so he found a
hotel room? He says he's sorry he raised his voice. Oh, but
she's still wrong? Ava asks. She says she is asking him
nicely to leave; not like what he did to her at the station.
She's not treating him like...like... Like a busybody? he
suggests. She throws papers at him and tells him to get out.

Jacob asks Angie, "What exactly happened to me?"

Clay suggests Deborah help the family by moving out. She
can't, she says, because of her condition. She should be
resting, he suggests. She spends all her time at the
hospital, she says. Yeah, Clay says, when she's not at
Burnell's on a shopping spree! Deborah says that more women
die of heart attacks because doctors misdiagnose the
condition. Clay tells her to take a nap; she'll feel better.
She says that's so typical. She shows him a letter. He scans
it and says she's suing him?

Charles tells Frankie he must have misread the plates! Same
bumper sticker, Frankie says. Charles maintains he wasn't in
town. Frankie says he hasn't even told Alex. Frankie says
maybe Charles snapped; Jacob came between him and Angie.
Charles says he wasn't at the scene of the crime! Frankie
says he knows what he saw. Frankie suggests Charles needs
help. Charles says he needs answers! Frankie tells Charles
he lied to the cops and told them the accident happened
before he got there. He tells Charles to tell the truth;
they're all behind him. Charles is not happy.

Angie asks what Jacob remembers about the accident. Not
much, he says. She says that is normal for a head injury.
He's surprised that she's staying with him - yesterday she
didn't want to be anywhere near him. That was before the
accident. It was anything but an accident, he says.

What does he mean? Angie asks. Fate, he says, it was Fate.
All part of the master plan, Jacob says. His car breaks down
outside of this particular town; why? Bad maintenance, she
suggests? No, the Fates fiddled with his filter and stranded
him here where there was a beautiful woman. And just when it
seems its the end for them; WHAM; a car hits him. If it's
not destiny, what is it? he asks. She'd call it bad luck.
She thinks they make their own destiny. A man in love does
crazy things, he says. She tells him she'll get the nurse to
take over now. Jacob asks her who's not being honest now?
She tells him she's too tired to play his games. At the
door, she turns around and asks who Teressa is. Why? he
asks. That was the first word when he woke up. She's David's
mother...his wife. His WIFE? Jacob says she doesn't belive
him. Why should she? Angie asks. He tries to sit up.
Outside, Charles tries to contact the psychologist with no
luck.

Deborah says she's suing AE...not him personally. She says
her heart attack was caused by stress - from arguments like
this one. Clay says he saved her...maybe he should sue
himself!

Ava and Alex are behind her desk, picking up the papers she
threw at him. Alex wants to know if she forgives him. Ava
says she just wanted to know how Casey was. Alex says that
kid he was interagating was a drug dealer. So what? she
says, he was just a kid. Well, Alex wanted to protect her
from him and his gang. They'd like nothing better than to
find out who his wife and family are. He doesn't want them
getting to him through her or Alexis or Sandy. Oh, now she
understands, but why didn't he tell her that before? He did,
but her mouth was open. Her mouth wasn't...Alex kisses
her...open. Alex asks if Ally got out of town and into the
cabin. Yes, Ava says. She says it sounds like he is worried
about Ally. She wants to know what's going on. She knows he
is hiding something - she can always tell.

Clay says AE is responsible for her recovery? This he has
got to hear. Deborah says she saw the annual report...her
finger must have hit the wrong button on the computer (yeah,
right, Clay says)...and she noticed that AE funds the
cardiac research. And? Clay prompts. Well, it's all geared
to MEN! So, sue the hospital, Clay suggests. Her lawyer said
it would be easier to sue....him, she coos. Easier? Clay is
upset. He throws her out and says 14 days...he picks up the
phone. He can get her out before then.

Alex kisses Ava and tells her nothing is going on. His
beeper sounds and Ava tells him she is not finished. He
dials and, to Ava, suggests dinner someplace romantic. She
says "Pins; kids." Oh, he says. He talks on the phone and
then tells Ava that Charles is in trouble and he has to go.
Ava yells down the hall to a retreating Alex that she's not
through.

Jacob wants his wallet. Angie says she'll get it if he
promises to stay put. He wants the wallet to show her he's
telling the truth. She says there is no need. Yeah, right,
he says. He shows her the picture of him, the woman and
child. That's David? Angie asks. Yeah, and Teressa. She's
lovely. Where is she now? She's dead, he says. Will he tell
her about Teressa? Angie asks.

Charles finds Jacob's doctor and asks if Jacob is awake.
Yeah, but he doesn't remember anything. Charles promises not
to press him. Two cops show up and tell Charles they have
questions about Jacob Johnston. Frankie overhears.
