No time this weekend, so here's a...

LOVING Mini-Update for Friday, February 17:

STORYLINE: BONDING
           (location: Alden Mansion)
* Clay is dialed in to a "Europe-wide hookup" to try to get information
about Trisha. Gwyneth informs Clay that Jeremy dumped her today.
* Clay asks why. Gwyn tells him that she slept with Gilbert, and that
part of Jeremy sees that as an act of betrayal. Clay says he will sort
it out, eventually. Gwyn says she's too old for "he loves me, he loves
me not." Clay says that he wants her to be happy, believe it or not.
The subject switches back to Trisha -- Gwyn wonders why she has been
 away for so long.
* Clay says he doesn't have any answers right now, nobody does, but they
will soon. Gwyn asks if they will "know her." Clay says he takes this
as a "sign" that this is his one more chance: "If we get Tr-- *when* we
get Trisha back, if that doesn't turn me around, nothing ever will."
Gwyn asks if this is the man she married; Clay says he hopes not.
Deborah busts in (telling Lenox that she can find her way around the
mansion quite well by himself). She notices that she seems to have
 interrupted something.
* "Good bye, Deborah." Deborah persists that she wants to talk. Gwyn
leaves (over Clay's objections). "What is it?" Deborah apologizes
"if I caused any trouble." Clay offers a truce, surprising Deborah,
in honor of Trisha being found. "Here's to happier days." Deborah,
instead of shaking his hand, cracks up. She demands another $10,000.
"Go to hell." She threatens to tell Clay and Isabelle about Clay's
mobility. She tells him to make *sure* he deposits the $10,000 today
because the bank is giving away free steak knives. She breezes out.
Clay smiles. "You know, one of those might just end up in your back."

STORYLINE: THANKS, GIFF
           (location: Alden University classroom)
* Jeremy enters and tells Casey to "put that thing down." Casey asks
 him, "why?"
* Jeremy compares Casey's drug use to jumping out a window. Casey says
he is afraid of heights. He asks why not use drugs -- he has no job,
no wife, no life, he's up on drug charges. He says that his life has
been "mapped out" for him by Giff. Jeremy says that Giff was a "poor,
sick man." He compares Casey's situation with Giff to his own with
Gilbert but says he refuses to drown in self-pity, even though he was
tempted. "When you think of it, it really comes down to one choice:
live or die. Which one is it gonna be, Casey?"
* Casey asks Jeremy what he wants from him. Jeremy says he remembers
the Casey who sat in his class. Casey doesn't want to hear about that.
Jeremy says he took on the responsibility of a wife and a child--
Casey interrupts, shoutin, "Gone! Long gone!" He says they don't need
him; they will be a lot better off without him. Jeremy asks if he
really believes that, or is he afraid that they really *do* need him?
* Casey tells Jeremy that he isn't his student any more; he tells him
to "spare me your lectures." Jeremy says that Giff was mentally ill,
but Casey can fix his problems. Jeremy says he hopes Casey has the
strength to make the right decision. Jeremy stomps out. Casey, still
 sitting on the floor, cries.

STORYLINE: JESSE'S RETURN?
           (starting location: Hubbard house)
* Charles brings flowers for Angie. He reads her note which says that
she is in Pine Valley. [In Pine Valley.] Angie brings flowers to
Jesse's grave. She says that she has something to tell him.
* [At the Hubbard house.] Charles grills Frankie why she went. (But he
doesn't know.) Charles and Frankie vent a little anger to each other.
Charles calms down and decides to try to find Casey. He leaves, not
knowing quite what to say to Frankie. [In Pine Valley.] Angie tells
Jesse that he would be proud of Frankie. She says she feels that he
still checks in on them, wherever he is. She recalls telling him that
he brought her happiness, enough to last a lifetime. Then, we flash
back to the scene in the hospital: Jesse telling Angie to "live our
dream." She promises. Jesse dies, with Angie begging him not to leave
her. Back to the present: Angie "asks" Jesse if he meant what he said.
She says she is "following orders" -- she has met a man and she is "so
much in love with him." A man approaches and watches from behind a
 tree.
* Angie tells Jesse's grave about Charles being a cop and that he is a
lot like him: stubborn and opinionated, but sweet and kind too. "But
he's not you, Jesse. You were my first love, baby. You know, some
people never get past that. They keep waiting for something that can
never happen again. They just spend their lives waiting. I was lucky
in two things: I found Charles and I really had a husband who wanted
me to live that dream, and I'll always love you for that. [Crying.]
I'll *always* love you." She rubs her hand on the headstone. "Good
bye, sweetheart." Leaving the flowers, she gets up and walks out of
the cemetary. The man, a large black man dressed in black and wearing
a crucifix, walks to the grave.
