Subject: LOV: Update for Wednesday, February 15, 1995
Status: R

It's Wednesday. Everything was in Corinth...guess yesterday was
Trucker's goodbye. (Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I'll miss him.)

In Ava's office, Alex asks who is he talking to? Is this the same
woman who has been on his case since he joined the force? The same
woman that has been worried he'd get killed? Yes, Ava says. Why? Alex
asks.

Cooper and Steffi are playing un-stip poker. Cooper bets a stocking.
He's not wearing one. He will soon, he says. She calls. He has
nothing, Cooper says, 10 high. Steffi takes off a stocking. Seems when
you lose, the *other* person has to take off a piece of clothing...
Cooper is losing a lot (aka Steffi is dressed only in bra and panties
now).

Angie is cooking gumbo. She asks Charles if he wants a taste. Yes, he
says, as he kisses her. That's not what she meant, Angie says. She's
still mad at him, isn't she? Charles asks; Casey? Not just Casey, she
says, Frankie, too; he almost stipped searched Frankie. He's a cop, he
offers. She knows, she was married to one. He knows, she'll never let
him forget that. Look, Charles says, he's *not* Jessie.

Angie says she doesn't mean to compare him to Jessie. He knows she
doesn't *mean* to. Angie says but she does. Charles says maybe it's
because he's living here with her and Frankie. But she has Jessie on a
pedestal, he offers. He used to have Clarissa on a pedestal no one
could reach, until her. She showed him love. Let him do the same for
her. How? Angie says. Let him take her to lunch. She can't...the
gunbo is about to boil, and she has appointments. Dinner? she
suggests. Yes, it's a date, Charles says. She loves him, don't ever
forget that. He loves her too, more than he ever thought
possible. They kiss, pasionately. Sure you don't want to turn that
down to simmer? Charles asks. The gumbo or him, she says, kissing
him. His beeper goes off. He's gotta go.

Cooper asks if she's ready to see his buff bod. She puts on glasses
(upside down at first) and says ready. He turns on some music and does
a strange strip tease. He takes off all the clothes she put on him
when she lost at un-strip poker. She goes wild. He unbuttons a couple
of buttons and she says she's a lucky girl! She's going wild, and he
only has all the buttons undone (the shirt is still on). He turns the
music off, and says he must have her. She giggles, and says sure. He
gets on the bed with her and says they're even. Not quite, she
says. She crawls under the covers and says *now* we're even. He quotes
from F. Scott Fitzgerald's "Beautiful and the Dammed". Oh, Steffi
sighs. Well, she's beautiful, and he's anything but dammed. They kiss
and the phone rings. Cooper picks it up and says Steffi can't come to
the phone right now...it's Kate. She asks if they have seen Casey. He
had a court date and he didn't show up. Ally is a wreck, of course,
she's called everyone, and she's out now looking for him. Cooper says
that he'll go help look. Kate thanks him. Cooper hangs up and says
Casey, what are you up to now?

Alex says that she never liked him being a cop. Alex says she never
paid attention when he had reservations about Gilbert. Oh, sure, she
was wondering when he would throw that in her face. Ava is collecting
things. Where is she going? Alex asks. She has work to do, Ava
answers. Oh no, Alex says, she has to stay here. They have things to
talk about, and she's going to stay and talk about them.

Ava says she's leaving. No she's not, Alex says, putting his hand over
her head and onto the door. He adds that it doesn't matter who was
right about Gilbert...even thought it was him? Ava asks. Yes, Alex
says, but we seem to fight everyday. Alex says she is always working
angles. Like when she went behind his back to get Burnele's. Oh,
sure, Ava says. She knew he wouldn't approve of it. How would she
know, they never talked about it. Alex says she wants to get rid of
him, that's why she wants him to get a job. He wants her to reevaluate
her priorities. She has, and one of them is work, Ava says.

Ally returns and tells Kate that she didn't find him. He could have
OD'd or be on the street somewhere. Cooper comes in and says they
didn't find him, either. Ally wants to know how they found out. Kate
says she called them on the off chance they had seen him. Ally expects
Cooper to deride Casey. Ally says it's all Cooper's fault. If they hadn't
said that Casey couldn't be alone with Tyler...that killed him. It
could have killed...nevermind, Cooper says. Cooper is gonna go out and
try to find him. Ally wants to go too. Steffi offers to stay there
with her. Kate goes to the kitchen to call Alex.

Charles is at the agency. He asks Tess if she has seen Casey. No, he
doesn't work there anymore, she says, distracted. He missed a court
date, Charles offers. She doesn't care, Tess says, she's overworked:
Jeremy quit, Gwyn is involved with the Trisha thing...Charles sees
Frankie. He leaves Tess, closing the door. He asks if Frankie has seen
Casey. No, Frankie says. Is he sure? Charles asks. So now he's
accusing him or harboring a fugitive? Charles says no. Frankie is
still upset. Charles says he appologized. Frankie asks if he thinks
Casey skipped out on his bail. Charles says no, he just wants to find
him. Charles asks Frankie if he still wants to be his best man.
Frankie has his back to Charles, and doesn't look thrilled.

Ally says she always thought they'd get back together. But what if
something happened to him? What if something didn't...Ally says. He
told her to stay away. Nothing can keep them apart, Steffi offers, not
her, not Cooepr. They tried. When two people love each other, nothing
can keep them apart.

Ava askls what does he want her to do; kiss his feet? No, Alex says,
he wants her to take a hard look at their marriage. They never fixed
the problems from the first marriage. When he came back, they fell
into each other's arms, then she got shot, then she was kidnapped, and
they had to deal with the twins. The phone rings. Alex picks it up and
screams Burnel's! Oh, Kate. He tells her to calm down, and he
listens. Okay, he'll look into it. He hangs up. Ava wants to know
what's up. It's Casey, he offers. What about Casey? she asks. He'll
tell her *after* they finish this conversation. There's nothing more
to say, she says, she loves him. They hug. He loves her, too, Alex
says. God help him. God help them both, he says as he leaves the
office.

Charles tells Frankie he isn't trying to take Jessie's place. But he'd
like a place in Frankie's life and his mother's. If Frankie needs more
time...No, Frankie says, turning around. Oh, well, Charles says,
dissapointed, he can find someone else. No, Frankie says, he's cool,
he'll be the best man. Charles is happy. Meanwhile, Angie is looking
at the picture of her and Jessie. (AMC flashback: She remembers her
and Jessie looking at baby Frankie in the crib). Back to the present,
she tells the picture Charles is right, she has to let him go...for
Frankie's sake, too.
