LOVING Update for Friday, February 10:

STORYLINE: ADDICTS ANONYMOUS
           (starting location: pawn shop)
* Casey enters. Ally asks him to tell them that the pawning wasn't for
drugs. Casey says he needs to talk to Ally alone. Cooper takes that
as a confession. Ally convinces Cooper and Stephanie to leave.
* Casey asks Ally to go outside. "Why do you want to go outside?" He
doesn't answer; Ally, a bit scared, goes outside. Casey follows. The
pawn shop clerk just shakes his head.
[Outside, on the street.]
Casey says she shouldn't have been in a place like that. She asks what
he was doing there. She says she's not Cooper; she's just asking, not
accusing. "But you can't blame him, can you?" Ally admits that their
troubles started when she wouldn't believe him -- when she would think
the worst. Casey said she had the right to, sometimes. She says she
shouldn't have left -- "something about 'for better or worse.'" Casey
says he gave her good reason, and hasn't given her any "better" lately.
Ally says that if leaving him was the right thing to do, she wouldn't
hurt any more, but it still hurts, and she doesn't think she can take
it any more. Casey says he doesn't want to tell her what it has been
like without her, because he doesn't want to hurt her, but sometimes it
hurts so much, he doesn't know how to stop it. Ally blames it on the
house, then the bills, and that he saw the ring and she knows why he
did it. "Come on! How long are you going to keep on understanding?"
She says she knows that's why he pawned the ring. Casey, facing away
from Ally, says, "Yeah. That's why." Ally smiles, confident that she
 was right all along.
* Ally says they will have to pay Cooper back -- she can get the money
from Ava. Casey insists that she not do that. He is not going to take
any money from them. She says her family loves him and wants to help.
He says that this is about a lot more than $200. She knows, it's about
*them* and it is very important, but she isn't going to run away any
more, and she is going to listen to him, but he can't shut her out.
He says he wants to talk to her; he wants to be with her more than
anything. She says everything is going to be OK. She says she talked
to Alex, and he thinks everything will be all right about the case.
It's Casey's first offense, so it will look better if he gets into a
program. He resists, but she says she will go with him. They kiss.
* Casey breaks up. She asks what's wrong and suggests they go home.
C: "No. Unh-unh."
A: "There's no reason to stand out here. Let's go home."
C: "That's right, there's no reason. You shouldn't be in a neighborhood
like this, and you shouldn't be with somebody who hocks something that
you friends trusted you with. It shouldn't have happened."
She says they talked about it, and it's OK.
C: "Don't you get it? Don't you see, Ally? I'm not shaking because
it's cold outside. I'm shaking because I bought some coke, Ally. I
bought some coke on the street from a dealer, and there was something
in it that is making me really sick. *Really* sick. And I was at the
house when you were there earlier tonight with Cooper and Stephanie
and you were looking for the ring. I was there --"
A (mutters): "You weren't home."
C: "I was there, and I was hiding in the coat closet. I was so messed
up that I couldn't let you see me, but that's how I knew you were
looking for the ring. That's why I'm here. Because I was going to
hock my camera so that I could get the ring back --"
A: "Stop it, you're lying!"
C: "-- because I don't need it any more because Tess just fired me.
See, she had given me all these final warnings after I got arrested,
but you'd think I'd have the common sense not to let her see me like
this. See, that gives you an idea where my head's been these days --"
A: "Stop it, OK? Stop it!"
C (screaming): "See? You never want to hear. You never want to listen
to me. You never want to believe it's true, but it's true. It's true,
 Ally."
A (screaming): "OK, OK. We will make it better."
C: "What? You're going to stay by me? You're going to give me another
 chance?"
A: "Yes!"
C: "No. I can't let you do that. I can't, because I wish I could tell
you that I will never do this again, and that that was the last time,
because every time that I told you that, I meant it. But, I -- I can't
stop. I can't stop. I can't stop. Oh my God, it doesn't even hurt to
say that. It's like this unbelieveable relief. I can't stop. I need
it. [Starting to break down.] There's this unbelieveable emptiness in
me, and I'm always just about to fall in, and the only way I can hang
on is by snorting some coke or by popping some pills, and that's the
 truth."
A: "Well, we can fight this --"
C: "No, because, you know what, I don't want to fight it. *You* fight
it. Please. Fight forgiving me. Fight whatever it is that keeps you
 coming back to me."
A: "Loving you is what keeps me coming back to you. Do you want me to
 fight that?"
C: "Yes, because it will ruin you, it will kill you. Just stay away
from me. Get out while you can."
A: "I don't *want* to stay away from you."
C: "Please, Ally. Please."
Casey shoves Ally away.
C: "Please, just get away from me. Get away! Stay away from me."
Casey runs off. Ally looks completely bewildered and shocked.

STORYLINE: OF FROGS AND ROMANCE
(location: Back yard of Alden mansion)
* None.
* Cooper and Stephanie enter the patio area of the mansion. She asks
what they are doing there. He shooshes her, then says they are on a
mission. "What are we going to do, rob the place?" Cooper says that
his life of crime is over. She apologizes. He says that at least they
can joke about it; he doesn't think Casey and Ally could, and he never
thought they'd be back together. "Love is not easy." She says that
there are things that still need to be worked out: his family thinks he
is a criminal, and she is still going through a lot... Cooper admits
there are problems, but says they are there to do something fun. She
asks what that is. "Yes. I'm 21, going on 12." Stephanie remembers
that from the night of her birthday, the night of the frog, when this
whole thing started. He asks if she remembers when he came back from
the pond, soaking wet. He insists that she go up on the balcony to
re-enact this scene. She says she won't do it in her short skirt and
high heels. He says she *has* to. "All bets are off unless you're
up there on the balcony." She says they are finished, then. "Not
necessarily. Love will find a way."
* Cooper looks like he is rehearsing his lines. We pan back and see
Stephy enter the balcony. She says she can't believe she broke into
the house and got there via the back stairs. "Well, it's a family
tradition." He says she looks beautiful with the full moon bouncing
off her hair. He tells her that there was a full moon that night, too.
She says she remembers. He asks if she remembers her first line. No.
"First, you said, 'You are all wet.' Then, you said, 'You're 21 going
on 12.'" Stephanie is impressed how much he remembers. He says it
made quite an impression on him. She says it did for her, too, but
he is going to have to help her some more. He says they traded insults
for a while, then he told her how lonely she looked up there. Now she
remembers -- the man in the moon was up there with her. Cooper says
it is a fake moon, he fished the real one out of Belden Pond. Neither
remembers what she said next...then Cooper remembers that she wished
somebody would give her the moon, and that he offered to do so, but he
is going to do something different tonight. He climbs the trellis and
practically falls onto the balcony. He says he couldn't get his hands
on a frog, so he hopes a ring will do. She says it will have to. He
says he hasn't gotten a chance to properly propose because she kept
saying yes (three times, she points out), so he wants to do it without
any interruptions. "I won't say a word." "OK." Cooper gets down on
one knee: "I love you, and I want to spend the rest of my life with
you, and will you marry me?" Pause. "You can answer me now." "Yes."
"Well, here, wear this in good health." They kiss.
* Cooper asks how it feels to be engaged. "Scary." He asks why scary.
She says scary, but wonderful. He presses, she says she is a nervous
bride-to-be. She says she is a bit scared because everything is so
perfect. A lot of bad things have been happening to the. He asks if
she wants him to promise that nothing bad will happen to them again.
She says yes. He says he can't. She says she knows, but she had to
ask. He says that she said it best: they've been through so much.
She tells him to look at Ally and Casey. She says to ignore the woman
with the ring on her finger. Cooper suggests that they have their
first engaged couple fight right now. "OK, fine, what do we fight
about?" "Why do you do that? Why do you put that on me [to always
decide what we fight about]?" They go on, mock fighting, even calling
off the engagement, then Cooper apologizes. "Can we kiss and make up?"
"OK." They kiss. "Now that we've had that fight, we won't have to
fight for a very long time." "You promise?" They hear a frog croaking
in the yard. They laugh and kiss and hug...

STORYLINE: "HAPPY REUNION"
           (location: hotel in Italy)
* Trucker and Dinah Lee enter the lobby. Dinah Lee asks him not to hit
anybody. He agrees. He approaches the desk clerk (who speaks English)
and asks if Jeff Hartman is staying there. Yes, he is. Is he in right
now? It is very early in the morning... Trucker says they just got
there and he knows Jeff will want to see him. The clerk says he will
ring his room. Trucker stops him from calling.
* Trucker says they are old friends from the States, and he was hoping
to surprise him. The clerk resists, saying it is highly irregular and
the hotel will not allow him to give him the room number. He and DL
both ask "please?" and Trucker says he will "take full responsibility."
The clerk considers, then gives them the room number: 712. "Buona
reunione." "I've been waiting a long time for this."
* Dinah Lee says she's glad he didn't lose it with the clerk. He says
he doesn't slug hotel clerks. "No, just detectives." He says it got
them there. She says that if they had waited and cooperated, they'd
have gotten there eventually. He says he couldn't wait that long.
DL asks him to take it easy when he sees Jeff. "It depends what we
 find up there."
The detective and two cops enter. They tell the hotel clerk that they
are looking for two men: Jeff Hartman and Trucker McKenzie. Trucker
sees them and turns and runs. "That's him!" They follow Trucker.
The clerk calls Jeff. He tells him the situation, that a man and the
police are on their way up to his room. "His name? It's a strange
 name -- Trucker."
* Trucker and Dinah Lee run down a hallway. [Strange. When Trucker
took off, Dinah Lee didn't come along.] He says he thinks they've
lost them. Good, says DL, let's just go. Trucker sees the door to
room 712, slightly ajar, and runs in. He comes back out, saying that
they must have just left. They run toward the elevators. They see
a man and a woman facing the elevator. The door starts to open. The
cops bust into the scene. "You are under arrest!" "Let go of me!"
The man and woman get into the elevator. Trucker yells, "Trisha!!
Trisha!!!" The woman turns as the door closes...
