Tony arrives at Steffi+s with a tree. (A conifer as he calls it). He also
has a
load of gifts. He puts a tape of a fire in the VCR to act as a fireplace.
 He
and Steffi cuddle in front of their fireplace and discuss their first
Christmas
together. He gives her an ornament with the name Casey on it. (Apparently
that+s what they are going to name the baby - I must have missed this when
my cable was down). He puts it on the tree.

Frankie arrives to help with Kayla - since he knows what it+s like to lose
a parent suddenly when you+re young. Zoey arrives in a little skimpy dress
highly appropriate to a New York City winter. Frankie and Zoey do a little
mild flirting. Angie admits to Jacob that she still hasn+t called social
services
about Kayla - Jacob is less than happy. After Frankie leaves, Jacob and
Angie
kiss and Jacob tells Angie he wants to get naked, when Kayla comes up and
interrupts. She asks Angie if she can stay with her since her mom isn+t
coming
back.

Jacob tells Buck that they can dissolve their partnership if Buck wants.
 Buck
doesn+t - he said some things were said in anger that he didn+t mean. He
proposes using Nick to recover the money they lost. Jacob thinks he+s nuts,
but after seeing the crowd and the reaction to Nick, Buck thinks it+s worth
trying.
Jacob tells Buck that the crowd was upset with Nick, but Buck says there+s
a lot of people in the city. Jacob is disgusted with Nick - he+s an
arrogant drunk.
Buck figures on keeping Nick in his apartment before a show to make sure he
stays sober and appearing. Jacob wants to call Bellevue. Buck asks if he
can
bring Tess to the little get together. Jacob says sure, and Buck goes to
get her.

Tess tells Alex she wants the investigation into Sydney dropped. He argues,
but she won+t budge. He puts two and two together by stating that she went
with Sydney+s bodyguard to see her and two hours later she wants to drop the
search. She tells him (and later Angie) that Sydney is a dangerous woman.
Tess says that the new Tess is a +live and let live kind of girl+. (In the
background of the bar is playing the song +Run baby run baby run...)

Jocelyn is in the bar working at a table when an old boyfriend shows up. He
tries to get things going again with her, but she isn+t interested. She
lost
interest when she found out he was married. He then uses the smooth line
+Well, my wife isn+t here right now+, but for some reason this doesn+t cause
her to fall into his arms. She tells him goodbye, he says goodbye *for
now*.

Later, Alex tries to comfort a bummed out Jocelyn. She doesn+t want to
discuss
it, but he reminds her that she was there for him and he wants to do the
same.
She is worried that Sydney will find out about the affair. He tells her
that she
didn+t cheat on the wife, the guy did. Jocelyn snaps at Alex to drop it.
 He
offers to leave, she says she sorry, it+s not just the guy but a bunch of
things,
including a lot of work. They start talking, which leads to a kiss. She
kind
of panics, gathers her stuff and runs out. (Background music - Lovers cry,
lover+s cry, lover+s cryiiiii... What do they do - look for the most
repetitious
songs?)

It turns out that Buck wanted Tess up with him to discourage Zoey. Zoey
and Tess trade a few remarks, Tess is amused and thinks Zoey is like herself
when she was young. Later Zoey dances in what I suppose is supposed to
be a sexy way, but the character irritates me too much to agree. Tess tells
Buck she doesn+t think the dancing is for her sake and Buck points out that
Zoey is young enough to be his daughter.

The last scene is of Tony and Steffi finishing the tree, and talking about
the
upcoming baby shower. Tony shows her an ornament, she says it+s beautiful.
They kiss as the ornament shatters on the ground. (Unfortunately, I had a
phone call during this scene and I still am having problems getting a
watchable tape - I had sound, but no picture, so I didn+t see what the
ornament was - I assume this is an omen of doom).
