Wednesday, on "the city":

In Nick's bedroom, Loraine is unpacking Nick's bag. She
sees the envelope. She opens it and sees that it's a list
of transplant recipents. Damn it, Nick, you promised me.
Meanwhile, in the living room, Nick is on the couch and
Zoey can't help being a doting daughter, she says, he's
finally back in the land of the living, for good. Nick
says that he got a new liver, not immortality. He asks
if she called Richard. She says he's still at Hot Line.
She offers to go get him something to eat. Anything that
doesn't taste like hospital food is fine with him. Zoey
leaves. Loraine comes in. What's wrong? Nick asks. Besides
that he lied to her? she asks.

At the bar, Tony and Ally are kissing. Buck tells them that
if they don't cool down, he'll have to hose them down. Tony
offer to buy drinks all around. Joey comes in and Tony tells
him that the Feds dropped the case. Tony and Ally toast each
other. Joey looks concerned.

In the apartment, Danny says once the wedding rings come off,
she has about as much chance of getting Tony as he has of
winning the tri-fecta. So what, Carla says, instead of a year,
she has a couple of days. A lot can happen, Carla adds. Yup,
Danny says, Tony and Ally can move in together. So he's
giving up on Ally? Carla asks. No, Danny says, but he doesn't
need her help.

Buck tells Tess that she can't let one audition get her down.
Buck tells her a joke. A horse comes into the bar, he says.
The bartender looks him over and says why the long face, pal?
Tess looks at him. Buck says, get it? The horse has a long
face. He just wants her to smile, Buck says. Meanwhile, on
the other side of the bar, Tony tells Joey that the Feds don't
need his testimony. He, Carla, Gino, and Joey are all in the
clear. Great! Joey says. What's great? Zoey asks. Tony tells
her that he's getting divorced from Carla. That was quick,
Zoey says, not even a honeymoon?. Thankfully, no, Tony says.
You said it, Ally says, as she kisses him. Zoey asks Ally to
fill her in when she moves in. Ally says it's weird, but she
will. Ally goes to call Kate with the good news, kissing
Tony as she leaves. Zoey orders some food: soup and tacos
with the hot little skiny peppers. Joey tells her those are
jallepinos. They talk a little. Zoey has to go to the ladies
room.

Danny and Carla talk some more about not giving up.

Zoey tells Tess that Nick is on the mend. Buck says you
can't keep a good man down. Another proverb and she'll
ring his neck, Tess says. Zoey tells Buck to take take
his time, she thinks Loraine wants some time alone with
Nick. Isn't Richard with him? Buck asks. Richard is at
Hot Line, Zoey replies. Buck goes to fill a beer order.
Zoey asks Tess how the audition went. Not well. So, it
was a bust? Zoey asks. You could say that, Tess sighs.
Yes, it was a bust.

Ally and Tony are kissing. Danny asks if they plan on
coming up for air. Danny and Carla are there to celebrate.
Carala says this means she can return to her previous life.
Joey comes up and says he better go warn the old
neighborhood. Carla asks for one last married dance with
Tony. He agrees. Danny asks for one with Ally. Carla
watches Danny and Ally. Carla offers to take them all
out to dinner, they can do that, can't they?

Loraine says that he lied to her. Nick says he doesn't want
to fight with her on this. She said that he told her that
he wasn't going to do this. And then she found the list.
Loraine says that she has two options. She has to decide if
she can live with his quest, or should she throw in the towel
and call it quits? Nick thinks that breaking up is kinda
drastic. She needs to decide this - for her - not for him.

Tony suggests that since she hated living here, maybe they
can pack her up and move her out this weekend? This weekend?
Carla asks. Tony says they can pack her up and get a moving
van. Carla says yeah, she supposes. But, she says she
realizes that she cares for him. Not to worry, she adds,
she's not going to stand in the way of his happiness. She
wants them to remain friends, to be nice to each other.
He would like that. meanwhile, Ally and Danny talk. She
remembers the talk the two of them when Sydney left him.
About not knowing what you had until it's gone. He sighs,
and holds her a little tighter. She thinks things are going
well, for all of them. Danny wants her to clue him in. He
has the magazine, she reminds him. She only wishes for one
more thing. For him to stop stepping on her toes? Okay, she
laughs, two more things. Tyler? Danny guesses. Yes, she sighs.
Why not fly him out for a visit? She doesn't have the money,
Ally says. Danny says to ask Cooper to pay for his trip. No,
Ally says she has saved almost half the plane fare to bring
him over. Danny suggests she send Santa a letter. If he gets
her the address, she'll think about it. Danny says he just
might do that.

Tony tells Carla he can't do it Friday; that's Ally's
birthday, and well...you know. Carla says she understands.
Tony cuts in on Danny and Ally.

So, Zoey says to tess, she auditions, and he asks her to take
it off in front of everyone? Not everyone, Tess says. Gee,
Zoey says looking at her own chest, if she took her top off,
no one would play the theme from "The Stripper". Zoey would
be happy with a little more. Tess says be careful what you
wish for. Zoey suggests that Tess go to the plastic surgeon
and have a couple inches taken off and give them to Zoey.
She'd have less, Zoey says, and Zoey would have more...Tess
says that's gross. Eric comes over with the food. Zoey jumps
up and snags her bracelet on Joey's shirt. They try to get
unstuck, as Joey tries to talk to Zoey. Zoey unhooks the
bracelet and tells Joey to keep it, she has lots more. Joey
watches her go.

Nick tells Loraine that she can burn the list, if she wants.
Really? she asks. It's not worth losing her, he says. No,
it's not, she says. She decides that she can't distroy the
list. If this is what he wants to do, he'd resent her sooner
or later. No, he wouldn't, he says. If he wants to do this,
Loraine says, she'd only slow him down. If he has to do this,
she continues, the sooner it's over, the better. Really?
Nick asks. Yes, Loraine says.

Ally wants a hint. Tony tells Ally that it will be a birthday
to remember. That's not a hint, she says. Well, so she'll
stop wondering about it, Tony offers to take her upstairs
for a night to remember. They leave, locked together in a
kiss. Carla says looks like things are happening. Maybe,
Danny says. Carla asks if Danny is going to help her. No,
but Danny tells Carla that she is going to help him. He needs
a small loan.
