Wednesday, on "the city":

In the darkroom, Ally asks Jocelyn why she might not be
moving in with Alex. Sandy called, Jocelyn says, and he
wants to move to New York to live with Alex. Jocelyn
says she's having a panic attack. Will they all live in
the little apartment? What if he doesn't like her?
Alex's been there for her through all this, and when he
needs her, she doesn't know what to do.

Waiting for the elevator in the building, Alex is telling
Tony about the problem with Sandy. Tony offers to watch
the store while Alex flies down to Florida to deal with
the problem. Tony tells Alex that he can't stand having
Carla and Danny as chaperones all the time. A good
chaperone knows when to become scarce, Tony says. But,
he adds, Danny and Carla are always around. Alex reminds
him that the Feds are watching, and if Carla and Danny
disapear, the Feds would take notice.

Danny is in Carla's office. Carla comes in, and Danny
has made himself comfortable. Danny tosses the door
stop at her. Look familiar? Danny asks.

Nick walks into his room after changing into street
clothes. The nurse and Richard are there to see him
off. he signs the bill the nurse provides for him,
remarking about the amount of money this little
operation cost. He tries to decline the wheelchair.
Standard procedure, the nurse reminds him. Richard
wheels him out of his room. The orderlies are pushing
a man with a sheet over his head. Nick asks who is
that. Oh, just the guy who was waiting for a liver
that went to...the orderly realizes who asked. Went to
WHO! Nick asks. He knows nothing, the orderly says. Nick
wants to see who the dead guy is. He pulls the cover off
as the voices turn to a dream-like state. Nick's eyes
open. Nick is still in bed, having a dream. Richard wakes
him up.

Richard tells Nick that he tried to get the name, but the
list is locked up tighter than Fort Knox. Nick tells him
to try harder. Rishard says he's done everything he can.
Nick asks if he can't...or won't.

Jocelyn appologizes for falling apart. Ally says Alex will
talk to Ava...and then Jocelyn can panic. Maybe, Ally says,
Sandy can come to New York, and she can get to meet him,
and Jocelyn can find out what it feels like to be a mother.
Ally says even when Tyler is not here, he's here. Ally
realizes that when Jocelyn marries Alex, she'll be Aunt
Jocelyn. They leave the dark room. Alex is out there. He
was looking for them. He offers to buy Jocelyn a beer or
something. Ally goes back into the dark room. Alex tells
Jocelyn he talked to Ava. He thinks Jocelyn knows what
Alex has to do. In the darkroom, as Ally pours some
hemicals, the door closes, and Ally says isn't once enough,
Danny? No, sorry, Tony says, it's not Danny. Disappointed?
he asks.

Danny tells Carla that he figures she used the door stop,
and she did something to the note and the message on the
machine. Danny wants to know why she did it. She wants *him*
to figure it out. She wanted him and Ally together, so she
and Tony can be together, Danny guesses. Bingo, Carla says.
But why, Danny asks. Same as him - she wants the one that
got away.

In the bar, Alex tells Jocelyn that he talked to Ava. Seems
Sandy's latest threat is that he's going to live with his
dad. When he cuts classes, or missed his curfew, he uses it.
How long has it been going on? Jocelyn asks. He's not sure.
But, Sandy isn't a little kid anymore (ed. note: he's *not*?
Oh, no...another Rapid Aging Kid I guess Tyler is a teenager,
then). He says Sandy thinks that if he comes to NY, he'll
have less dicipline. But, he needs more, not less, Alex says.
Jocelyn says it looks like he's made up his mind.

Richard says he can't and he won't. Richard tells Nick he
should be glad that he got the operation and leave it at
that. Nick says did Loraine leave an echo in here? Nick
says Richard owes him. Richard asked Sydney for a liver -
to *buy* him a liver. Richard says Nick may not thank God,
but Loraine, Zoey, and Richard do. What? Richard asks,
does Nick wish he was dead?

The one that got away? Danny asks. Carla says he enjoys
spending time with Ally, why not take advantage of that?
Danny says Ally and him are friends, they were more before,
but he blew it. Carla asks if he wants a second chance.
He loved Ally, but she loves Tony, and he can deal with
that. Besides, Carla's flimsy tricks won't wash with Tony a
nd Ally. Carla mentions that Danny gave up Sydney's millions
to squire around Mousy Molly. Nice guys finish last, she
chides.

Tony tells Ally that he can't stand to watch Danny with
Ally. She yells that she can't stand to see Carla putting
her hands all over Tony. It's not easy for her, either.
He appologizes for his cave man tactics. She loves her
cave man, Ally says. Tony says he loves his Southern Belle,
too. He asks her if she thinks the Feds have any idea
what he's about to do? what's that? she asks. He unzippers
her top. She looks at him. They kiss.

Tony takes off Ally's top and kisses her chest, and her neck.

And, if I spill it all to Tony? Danny asks. Tony and Ally
do not belong together. Carla says she has known Tony for
so long, she knows what he wants before he has an itch for
it. Danny starts to leave. Is he going to tell Tony? Carla
asks. No, Danny says, it will be so much more fun to watch
her fall on her face trying to get Tony to care about her.
Carla says he's no Boy Scout. She wants him to think long
and hard - is he ready to give up Ally *forever*?

Alex says he's not sure what he wants to do about the kids,
but he has to go to Florida and see them. Jocelyn wants to
help him, but she doesn't know what to do. Alex tells her
that she will get to meet the kids, and if Sandy comes down
to live with him, she'll be a big part of their lives.

The nurse checks Nick's blood pressure, with is elevated
a little. Is there anything that she can do for him? No,
Nick says, she's not the one that he wants something from.
The nurse leaves. Richard says that he owes Nick NOTHING.
Just because he sired Richard does not make him Richard's
father. Richard owes Nick NOTHING, he repeats.
