Update 11-1-96 (today's might be slightly abbreviated. I hurt my wrist
and cannot write or type too much without a lot of pain.)

Storyline: Shareholder's meeting

Tess doesn't want anymore coffe. She'll be up half the night. Buck says
that's the point.

The group is waiting for the other two shareholders. Joc says the good
news is that once they pay the taxes, they will own part of the building.
She turns the floor over to Alex. He thinks they should sell their souls
to Tracey. Carla says the devil would be better. Tony tells her she
doesn't really need to be there. Carla says they need financial advice
and that's her specialty.

Jacob is having been and popcorn. Tess asks if that's dinner since
Angie is gone. He says it's breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The voice
trainer wasn't the right one for Tess. Buck is the right one. Alex
wants to do business. Alex's plan: Tracey takes care of the tax lien
in exchange for 1% each. That's fair. Tracey will want more. Alex
says a little bit of something is better than a whole lot of nothing.
Carla isn't sure. Does any of them really know Tracey? Alex does, sort
of. He used to work for her family's company. Carla doesn't trust her.

Alex says it's not a matter of trust. Tracey can't do anything with the
building anyway until she takes care of the taxes. Ally says she needs
them as much as they need her. Jacob says Tracey doesn't even want to
live there. Joc says she wants to sell her shares and move on. Buck
asks what if she sells to someone who makes them move out? Carla says
all they have to do is structure a deal with a contingency clause. You
give her 1% each, and she gives you rights to tenancy no matter who owns
the building. Joc says they could beat Syd at her own game. Carla says
she deals with the kind of thing all the time. Can she handle Tracey
though? Carla says she can, but Ally asks her if she's sure.

Jacob says he has a little money set aside. It's not much, but if it
will help, he'll do what he can. Alex asks how much, then tells him that
$15,000 won't cut it. They have to structure a deal. Alex says that
Tracey doesn't make amends unless she wants something. Tony says Carla
doesn't have anything that Tracey wants. She knows what she means. Alex
asks Carla to check it out. Tess says she's good at dealing with people.
Tony says she gets what she wants, when she wants. Tess jokes if she
doesn't get what she wants, whack her. Tony says not to encourage her.
Carla says she'll talk to her. As she leaves, she whispers to Tony that
she's doing this for him. Ally looks disgruntled.

Storyline: Miracle of Miracles

Zoey and Richard walk in. He asks if owning part of the building is
really that important to her. She says it beats a park bench. Richard
assures her that as long as he's got a bed to share with his love, she
won't be on a park bench. they kiss. Jacob breaks them up and asks how
Nick is.

Nick wakes up with Lorraine there. Lorraine had to chase Richard and
Zoey out of the hospital or they would have spent the night again. Nick
says they're good kids. Lorraine tells him the door was there. There's
no sign he's rejecting the liver. Nick says he's lucky. Lorraine is the
lucky one.

Nick doesn't konw how he got bumped to the top of the list, but he's
grateful. Lorraine should have believed her cards when they said Nick
was going to get better. She lost all her faith. She's okay though.
They have their whole future now and have everything to look forward to.
She meant what she said: she won't drink again.

Lorraine is going to be okay. She's going to go to an AA meeting later
on. Nick was never religious, but maybe there is someone up there
looking after him. Lorraine says a few people down there like him too.
Life is good. Lorraine tells him to concentrate on getting better. Nick
feels like he's been hit by a truck twice. She reassures him she's okay.
He tells her he loves her before he leaves. She goes into the hall and
a new father offers everyone a drink at the bar across the street.

Zoey goes to Richard at the bar and asks him what's wrong? Is he mad at
Syd for screwing everyone? Not everyone, he says.

Lorraine thanks God for saving him, and asks him for help in keeping her
promise.

Two medical staff talk near Nick. One says she just had to see for
herself, the medical miracle. The other one says the medical miracle
was bought and paid for.

Syd put a lot of things in motion before going to London and not all bad-
the transplant. Zoey doesn't think so. Richard says Nick was too sick
and there was only one way he could have gotten the transplant. He
thinks Syd had something to do with it?

Storyline: Dinner for two

Tracey is preparing a dinner for her and Gino. Dylan's nanny says he's
asleep. She has to go to her church meeting. Tracey wants help, but
her church is very important to her. Tracey understands, but asks her to
help a little. Gino arrives.

Gino says he got back to the car to find Vito crying. He figured
someone died. It was his favorite character on a soap. They laugh.
Gino compliments the chef. Tracey thanks him, says she found the time in
between her board meetings and her work with the Quartermaine foundation,
a charity for underprivileged children. Trying to raise money for a new
community center. They were going to name it after a man who was going
to donate $200,000, but he bailed. Gino balks, then says he'll get in
touch with his pastor, who is a great fundraiser. Tracey says plan B as
she grabs a bottle of champagne. Gino says he likes the leopard chairs,
then asks if she's trying to get him drunk. They flirt a little.

They sit down to dinner. He says his daughter would go crazy if she saw
him eating the crab cakes. He says everything that's good, he isn't
supposed to eat. His philosophy is eat hearty and work hard. His
family was poor and now their not. Tracey understands. Gino asks if
his lifestyle bothers her. He reminds her of her father (Edward
Quartermaine). They're not int he same business, but they'd both do
anything for their family. She says power is the ultimate aphrodesiac.
Tracey proposes a toast to their new friendship. Gino says, "May our
ships cross in the night."

Tracey has a confession to make. She and Carla didn't get off to a
good start and she tried to apologize, but she just made things worse.
Gino loves Carla, but she's a handful. He tells her not to take it
personally. She won't. Carla shows up. She starts to play nice, but
then sees Gino. "Papa! What are you doing here with her?!"
