Wednesday in "the city":
(Sorry so late again. Wednesdays are a hard day to get
the update out on time. I have no trouble watching, it's
the editing afterwards that is hard to fit into the
schedule.)

In their apartment, Carla coems downstairs and Tony (with
Ally) asks if Carla slept on it. What? she asks. Tony
says about his offer about staying married for a year...
and then, Ally says, she disapears. Carla says she never
makes a decision early in the morning, before her coffee.
Someone hands her some coffee. Jocelyn and Alex come
in and she says she talked to Sydney; the tax burden is
real. Danny, sitting on the couch, sugests torching the
place, and they can start the fire with this....he throws
down the Gen X magazine. Your magazine? Carla asks. Well,
Sydney took that, too. Jocelyn asks if they are up for a
fight.

In her penthouse, Tracy tells Dillon that she would spend
the day with him, but she has an important business
meeting. She tells Beth to take him to a very good park.
Beth mentions that she hasn't gotten paid in a couple of
weeks. Tracy says that her patience will be rewarded. She
shoos them out as a man comes in. He tells her it's a
pleasure to meet her, she says the pleasure is inside.

At the hospital, Loraine thought she could see Nick before
he goes in to surgery. Angie says they are prepping him now.

Tony is worried that if they don't come up with the money,
the building goes to the government. Tony is not liking
the government more and more these days. Jocelyn says
they won't start the pressure for 60 days, and if they
can get together they might be able to pay the bill.
Where can they get that kind of money? Tony asks. She
was thinking of a loan. Tony asks what they have for
collateral. She was thinking about him, Jocelyn says.
Upstairs, Carla is on the phone with Gino. She wants
to know how quickly he can get over to SoHo. She has a
piece of property that he might be interested in.

Angie tells them that Nick has the best transplant team.
Honestly, Zoey asks, what are his chances? Angie says
that most people come through transplant surgery well,
but they have to remember that Nick is weak. Zoey wonders
if they have enough blood. Yes, they got two units last
night, Angie says. They should have enough, she continues.
Tess says she's not up to hearing the details. She just
needs some coffee. Angie suggests she go home, the surgery
will take a while. Jacob moves off to a side. The PA
noises are bringing back memories. Angie says she'll get
him a glass of water. Zoey asks if he's okay. No, Jacob
says, but it's a long story.

Jocelyn suggests all the offices be put in the building.
The detective agency, her law offices, The City Bar's
offices. Why? Tony asks. To put the place to use and to
form an umbrella corporation. Tess and Buck come in and
say that Nick is going under the knife. They tell Tess
about the tax lean.

Teh man is examining some jewlery. Tracy puts on a good
act about the family jewels. She wants to sell them and
give the money to charity. She, of course, wants to get
the money in the best tax advantage possible. Of course,
the man says. So, the first payment could be immediate,
with other payments...she sobs and says she just can't
sell them. No amount of money could replace the memories,
Tracy says as she looks at the man. Good, he says. That's
what they'd offer: no amount of money. The memories may
be priceless, he says, but the jewels are worthless.

Richard asks what Nick wants. Nick gives him a family
tree of Nick's side. He wants Richard to know about his
side of his heritage. He tells Richard that they both
know that Nick could write his will on a coctail napkin,
but all he can give him is love and a sense of family.
The orderlies come to get Nick ready.

Tess asks just how much is Sydney laughing at them? Alex
says to the tune of about 1.2 million. Tess is not
surprised, she should have known. Jocelyn says they are
working on getting a loan. Oh, Tess says, plopping down
into a chair, and *her* credit is A one right about now.
Buck tells her she is tired. He takes her home. Jocelyn
asks where was she? Danny says that she was trying to
give a pep talk to <some team>. Who are they? Jocelyn
asks. My point, Danny says. She tells him that he lives
and works here, too. If working on a magazine for a day
is working, Danny says. Jocelyn tells them that they will
find a way to keep the building. Carla comes down and
tells Danny he has a nice little magazine here. Had,
Danny corrects. Oh, if he wasn't complaining so much,
he would have seen the note. What note? Carla shows him
the note from Sydney; "Go for it." What's that mean?
Danny asks. Well, Carla suggests, let's squint through
the hangover and read this. Editor-in-chief, Danny reads,
Daniel Roberts. What? Danny says.

The guy tells Tracy that these are fakes. Good
reproductions, but worthless. Tracy says that he's good.
Of course they're reproductions, she lies. She wasn't
going to trust him if he couldn't tell the good from the
bad. He says this is very irregular. He leaves. Upset and
alone, she says those were hers. He can't do this. She
calls her father at ELQ. He won't take her call. She gets
upset.

Angie tells them that Nick's going in to surgery now.
Zoey wopnders where Richard is. Nick wanted some time
alone with Richard, Angie says. Zoey says he's suppose to
be at Hotline. Well, she'll do it, and she'll call when
she can. Angie and Jacob talk about how nice it is that
Zoey cares so much for Richard. Loraine walks off, unseen,
and has a drink (she had a flask in her purse). Nick and
Richard are still talking. Nick tells Richard that the
line at the bottom was for them. He just didn't have time
to fill in the names. Richard says he'll take care of it.
Loraine walks into the chapel. She says that Lord, she
has asked him for a lot lately, and he knows she doesn't
want to drink, but it's Nick. If he will make sure that
Nick is okay, she will never let another drop of liquor
pass her lips, for as long as she lives. Please.
