Hi everyone,

Molly is really starting to lose it. I don't think it will be too long
now before everyone figures out she's the Masquerader. It's hard to
explain in the update the expressions she gets on her face and the weird
music playing in the background, but it was definitely creepy. Here we
go.....

THE LAST DANCE??
Starting Location: Nick's hospital room

*Angie and Lorraine are standing by Nick's bed. Nick is very impatient
to be released, but the release papers haven't been drawn up yet.
Besides, he needs his doctor's and surgeon's approval, it takes time.
But that's what Nick doesn't have, he tells them. He doesn't want to
waste another day or two in the hospital. Tess enters, bearing food -
lobster bisque and pasta primavera. She asks Angie if it's alright for
him to have some. Angie agrees, anything to keep Nick's mouth occupied
for a while. Did she bring anything to drink? Nick asks Lorraine and
Angie to go get him a milkshake so he can talk to Tess alone about Buck.
Lorraine agrees to go, but teasingly tells Nick to remember that they
are going steady. Angie warns Tess not to get him excited. "Yeah, it
might kill me", Nick jokes. Tess sits down in a chair by his bed. Nick
doesn't want to talk about Buck, he begs Tess to help him get out of
the hospital.

*Angie and Lorraine are on the way back to Nick's room with his
milkshake. Professionally speaking, Angie thinks Nick is too weak to go
home. But Nick's stubborn and determined to go home. The power of the
mind can be a great healer, it may be the best thing for Nick to go
home. Angie will keep an eye on Nick. They enter the room and stop,
surprised. Nick is gone.

*Nick is in a wheelchair near the nurse's station. A candy striper
recognizes him and comes over. He really shouldn't be out in the hall,
she'll take him back to his room. A door marked "Hospital personnel
only" opens and Tess steps out, wearing a white doctor's coat, with a
stethoscope around her neck. She introduces herself as Dr. Courtney
Marshall. She's just come in from Texas to examine Nick. She assures
the candy striper that she'll see Nick back to his room. The candy
striper leaves. "Courtney Marshall??", Nick asks. It's the name of a
character on a soap opera I used to watch, Tess explains. Tess starts to
wheel Nick away.

*Tess wheels Nick into his apartment. Nick is holding a box from a
vintage store they stopped at on the way home. Nick goes into the
bedroom, while Tess goes to answer the door. It's Angie and Lorraine.
The hospital security has been searching for Nick, but Angie suspected
he'd be at home. Tess tells them that she did bring Nick home.
Lorraine goes to check on Nick. When she sees him, she gets a big
smile on her face.

*Nick comes out in a red velvet smoking jacket and a hat, turns on the
radio and starts dancing with Lorraine. Nick doesn't want her
remembering him as a pathetic guy in a hospital gown. Lorraine tells
him that the hospital gown is sexy. While they dance, Tess and Angie
quietly leave the apartment.

THE MORNING AFTER
Starting Location: Tony and Danny's apartment

*Tony's getting dressed when Carla comes downstairs, wearing only Tony's
shirt. "I just can't find the words to describe last night. I mean, the
earth moved", Carla taunts Tony, who's trying to ignore her. He tells
her to shut up and put some clothes on. Doesn't he like the shirt?
"It's like having part of you next to my skin", Carla says. Tony, not
even looking at her, tells her again to put some clothes on. She's just
about to go upstairs when there's a knock on the door. Tony answers it,
it's Ally. They kiss, then Carla comes around the corner, buttoning up
Tony's shirt.

*(In the stairwell) Joc and Alex are bringing 4 big boxes of phone
records up the stairs. The elevator isn't fixed yet. They rest the
boxes on the railing to take a break. It's going to take a long time to
check all the calls to all the phones in the building, especially the
ones from the bar. We should get started then, Alex says, lifting his
boxes. Joc stops him to give him a kiss, for being the "light at the
end of the tunnel".

*(Tony's apartment)Carla, still wearing Tony's shirt, is poking through
the files on the desk while Tony and Ally are trying to work. "Just
pretend I'm not here", she tells them. "Yeah, I wish", says Tony. The
doorbell rings. Tony tells Carla to make herself useful and answer the
door. She does - "Anything for you, pumpkin", she tells Tony. It's Joc
and Alex bringing the boxes of phone records. "Is this just for our
building or for the entire city of New York?" Tony asks, looking at the
large boxes. Alex never said it would be easy. The doorbell rings
again. Carla answers the door. It's her luggage, which the two delivery
guys had to haul up 5 flights of stairs. "Sure was fun lugging these
suckers up five flights", the delivery guy complains. "Yeah, well you
look like you needed the exercise", Carla tells them and gives them what
is obviously a very small tip. They leave, telling her to call the
Santini Brothers next time. What is all this stuff, Tony wants to know.
Clothes, Carla says. "For what army?", Tony asks. She pulls out a
slinky red dress. "Does hubby approve of this?", Carla asks.

*Carla's in an upstairs bedroom, now wearing a low cut black suit,
talking on the phone with her office. She tells them to "let it be
known that the first person who calls her Mrs. Soleito-Soleito is out on
their butt".

*(downstairs)Joc suggests that she and Alex take the 800 and the long
distance calls and Tony and Ally take the local ones. She also suggests
they concentrate around the times the incidents took place. Tony points
out to Ally all the 1-900 numbers on the list. What are they?, she
asks. Phone sex numbers, there must be a lot of lonely people in the
building. Ally says that Tony better call her if he ever gets lonely.
He can't, the phone's probably tapped. Carla's on the way out the door.
"I'm going to be home by 6, what would you like for dinner, hon", Carla
asks Tony. "Privacy", says Tony. Carla leaves. All of a sudden, Tony
notices something in the list of phone numbers. "We may have just gotten
lucky."

*Tony found a number that was called both from the bar and from the
agency. It's in Portland, OR. Tony dials the number, it's the Portland
Pines Psychiatric Hospital. Maybe the guy was going to turn himself in,
Tony suggests. "That's the thing about crazy people. You don't know
what they're going to do, or why", Alex says. "Or when", adds Tony.

THE MANY FACES OF MOLLY MALONE
Starting location: Ally, Molly and Joc's apartment

*A loud whirring noise is heard. Ally on the second floor balcony asks
Molly to keep it down, then looks below to find that it is Danny, making
fresh grapefruit juice with an electric juicer. No, Danny didn't wake
her, Ally never really slept, she tells him. Neither could Molly,
that's why she asked Danny to sleep over. The killer's not playing
games anymore, Sydney almost got killed. Danny's glad he didn't have to
spend "honeymoon night with the newlyweds". The only reason Tony married
her and Carla is staying there is to keep Tony out of jail. Ally's not
worried about anything happening between Tony and Carla. Danny's glad
Ally feels that way, after all, Carla is a beautiful woman. Ally
sarcastically thanks him for the reassurance. Ally leaves to go to work.

*Danny answers the phone while Molly is in the shower. It's a woman
from the play, he tells Molly as she comes up and hugs him from behind.
She wanted to let Molly know that her last paycheck is ready. Why did
Molly quit the show?

*Molly left the show two weeks ago. She was tired of Jason telling her
that she was no good. Danny has no idea what that feels like. Actually,
I do, Danny says. Then Danny should understand why she quit. She didn't
tell him because it's hard to admit you're a failure. She tells Danny
that the only reason she got the part was because Sydney put money into
the show. Sydney did it to keep Molly busy and away from Danny. Danny
doesn't believe it's true at first. Molly yells at him for always being
on Sydney's side. Then she seems to realize she's losing it, pulls
herself together and apologizes. She's a basket case, it's a wonder he
wants to be around her. He loves being around her, his "beautiful,
talented girl". Danny offers to talk to Syd about the show. "No, do not
humiliate me any more", she yells at him and turns her back on him.
(Creepy music starts playing in the background) Molly turns back around
with a sweet expression on her face. She says maybe it was for the
best, finding out that she couldn't cut it. Danny wants to know what's
going on, why she's acting like this. "I can't", Molly says. No matter
what she says or does, Danny promises he won't stop caring for her.
Molly gets this very weird expression. "OK...I can be a good actress,
but just not on stage, in life.""You may think that I'm this sweet,
innocent little girl, but I'm not". She hopes he meant what he said,
because after she tells him this, he may hate her.

*Danny asks her what terrible thing she has done. (The creepy music is
not playing anymore) She says that she was planning to rent a hotel
room, lure him up there, and after a romantic night she thought it would
be easier to tell him about quitting the show. "That's the terrible
thing you've done??" Danny suggests that she rent the room now. He'll
be back from work around 5:00 and after that, he's all hers. Danny
kisses her and leaves. She gets this weird look on her face. "All mine.
That would make it worth it."

*Molly, carrying her black bag, goes into the basement room where
Bernardo used to live. She opens the lockers in there, looking for
something. She finds what she's looking for, several lengths of heavy
white rope. "You are all mine, Danny, all mine", she says, putting the
rope in her black bag.

LOD: Danny [to Molly] You're not getting weird on me, are you?

That's it for today. See you next Thursday!
