Sorry this is slightly later than expected. Next week's update will be
on
time barring any unforeseen falls from my top bunk. Enjoy!

Storyline: Nick's Concert
The Bar-before it is open. As Nick steps on stage, a chanting of Nick
rises. He starts to strum his guitar. Zoey walks in. Hey, Nick. Wow,
she cleans up pretty good. He hasn't done so bad himself. That's what
they say, Nick tells her. Zoey tells him there will be a lot of people
there tonight. There was a long line this morning for standing room
only
She thinks Mr. Goldin is bringing Ozzie or something like that. "What's
life without an entourage?" Nick asks. Lonely, Zoey says. Nick hears
that is what family is for. Yeah. Zoey tells him Buck and Jacob are
ready whenever he is. If he isn't ready by now... She'll let him
finish
up. He tells her to wait. He knows he hasn't been much to look at
these
days, but tonight, on stage, he'll make her proud of her old man. She
already is. Zoey walks out. Nick starts playing again.

Jacob reintroduces Mr. Goldin to Buck, who shows him to his table. Mr.
Goldin says tha tin the old days, he would send Nick a bottle of single
malt scotch before a gig. Well, luckily, those days are long gone,
Jacob
says. Mr. Goldin hopes so. it's been a long road. Jacob tells him
that
that road led to here and that he won't regret backing this album. He
didn't go there to regret anything. Jacob tells them to have a good
time
and he and Buck leave. Buck asks him if his heart skipped a beat. Shut
up, so he's a little nervous. What happened to all that confidence he
had? Nick looks great and he sounds great. Now, what else could
happen?
Jacob replies, he's asking him that? In this building?

Angie is talking to Lorraine. She asks how Nick is feeling tonight.
The
last time Lorraine saw him, he had a big ol smile on his face, bigger
than she had ever seen. At least, after the concert, Angie says, he'll
be able to get the kind of care he needs. What he needs is the support
his friends can give him tonight, Lorraine says. This is his night.
Tess walks up. They compiment each other. Lorraine tells Angie to
leave
her medical bag at home.

Zoey and Richard are going over the show. They'll get the cut aways
after the show of the crowd. He'll do the intro and she'll do the
follow
up. He knows she has a lot going through her head this evening with
Nick
and everything. Zoey keeps walking, but Richard pulls her back. He
knows she has a lot going on, but she can be his daughter for one more
night. Tell him after the show. So he goes public, which is a lie, and
then he looks like a complete fool when the CD comes out, she says.
He's
not making a public decree, he's dedicating a song to her, that's all,
Richard says. "Honey, you're not helping," she says. It's a
suggestion.
They'll talk after the show. They kiss. He walks away as Azure walks
toward Zoey. "You just kissed Richard," Azure says. Ooh, it was so
good too, Zoey says. Azure is completely lost. No, he's not her
brother.
But, Nick is...Azure starts. Zoey cuts her off. No, he's not her
father
It's a long story. So everything's fine? Azure says. Zoey just looks
at
her and Azure says, "Not fine." No, Nick still thinks she's his
daughter
She didn't have the heart to tell him. Besides she was sort of getting
used to the idea of being a part of something, like a family. Azure is
confused, So? So, he's dedicating a song to her tonight, to his
daughter
to his phony daughter. Meanwhile, he has a son out there. A real
son...
Richard, Azure finishes for her. Yeah, Richard. Zoey used to be such a
good liar. If lying were an event in the Olympics, she'd have a room
full of gold medals, but this is just... She konws what Azure thinks,
right? Yeah, yeah. She knows. But, after tonight. After the concert,
no more lies! Nick and Richard are finally going to meet as father and
son, Zoey declares.

Nick is pacing in the hallway with his guitar. His is playing a little.
Jacob rounds the corner. Hey, Star. About to let them in. Nick says
he's been waiting 20 years for something to bring his music back to him
and Jacob did it. He wants to thank him. He means is. The bill is in
the mail, Jacob says. Okay, how's it look in there? History in the
making, Jacob says. "Well, then, for those about to rock..." Nick
starts
"...We salute you," Jacob finishes.

Richard is getting ready to do the intro. He wants to keep is real.
They're way ahead of him. They're rolling in 5,4,3,2,1..."Once on the
top of the charts with hits like 'So Far Gone' and 'Lucky Day For a Bad
Man', Nick Rivers, a rock legend, crashed and burned on a tail spin of
substance abuse. Tonight we'll witness Nick Rivers' triumph over
alcohol depenence and substance abuse. A triumph of heart, of will, of
spirit. Anyone who has ever loved the music of Nick Rivers has never
forgotten him and judging from the standing room only crowd, tonight
promises to be no exception. I'm Richard Wilkins and Hotline has an
exclusive."

In the bar. A crowd of people are walking around. The camera goes to
Azure and Zoey. When is Zoey going to tell him? After the concert.
Stick around for the fireworks. Zoey is doing th right thing. She
knows
It's just going to be such a shock to them both. She and Richard just
got back together. She and Nick were just getting close, Zoey says.
And
she thinks they're both going to kill the messenger, Azure finishes.
The
thought did cross her mind. Anyway, Zoey is glad Azure is back. She is
leaving tomorrow--for good. San Francisco. She got a boutique job.
That's so great, Zoey says. Chantings of "Nick" arise. It gets diff-
icult to hear them, but Zoey has been Azure's best friend through
everything and she wants to be there for Zoey too. Zoey got herself
into
this mess and she can get herself out, but if it gets really ugly, Azure
will have a new roommate. The noise gets very loud and Zoey gets up and
runs to the other section of the bar where Jacob is introducing Nick.

"We're making a little bit of history here tonight and I hope you are
just as proud to be a part of it as I am. What we've got for you
tonight
is the return, no rebirth of THE legendary Nick Rivers. As most of you
already know, we are recording this jam session live tonight and that
means that we're working without a net. If you look closely, I'm
busting
a sweat up here. So, I need to ask you during th esongs, try to contain
yourself as much as possible. I know that's asking a lot. But, at the
end of the songs, just bust loose, just rip the roof off the sucker.
Let
the man know how you really feel! So, without further ado, the City Bar
is more than proud to present for you this evening, Nick Rivers!"
Applause. Nick walks in. He goes to the stage, thanks the audience,
and
the band starts playing. He starts singing as the scene ends.

Richard says Nick is really knocking the room off the place. Zoey says
he's awesome. It's every kid's dream to have a rock start as a father,
maybe she should keep him, Richard says. He doesn't get an answer.
Nick
finishes the song and says he's going to take five for some water. Lots
of applause.

Angie, Jacob, and Lorraine are sitting at a table. Jacob comments that
it's a little early for him to be taking a break. Angie says she should
go check on him. Lorraine tells them to leave him alone.

Nick is in the kitchen area, leaning on a counter, grimacing.

Storyline: Ally/Tony/Jocelyn/Alex

Ally and Joc are in their loft. Joc is trying to find earrings. Ally
tells her she looks fine. She is distracted. She asks Joc what would
happen if someone ripped up and ignored a subpoena. Joc says they would
get in a lot of trouble. Would they go to jail? They could. It would
depend on the specifics of the case. Are they talking about someone
they
know?

Tony and Alex are in the office. Alex is reading the letter Tony wrote:
"If anything happens to me, blah, blah, blah, take the contents to the
Feds." What is this? Is this his last will and testament? What is he
looking at? It's his future, Tony says. If he can put the puzzle
together and make all of the pieces fit, he will live the rest of a
long,
happy life. If not, he'll be harder to find than Jimmy Hoffa.

Joc sits next to Ally on the couch. Ally asks about the subpoena
process
Joc explains that after someone is served, they would either have to
hand
something over or testify. If they don't? They will either get a
contempt citation or got to jail. Indefinately. Joc asks what is going
on. Ally says that now that she is a PI assistant, she needs to be
aware
of what is happening. Joc thought they said no more secrets. Ally says
it's not her secret to tell. Joc reminds her that she made her trust
her
through everything before and not it's her turn to help. Ally can't.
Joc says to give her a dollar. Ally gives it to her. She throws it on
the table and says she is now Ally's attorney and nothing she says can
be
repeated under any circumstances. Nice save. Ally confides in her that
it is Tony and says it gets worse.

Tony figured that some of the stuff that started happening in the build-
ing was due to Carla, but he didn't push. Not until Ally was poisoned.
Then he leaned on Carla and she sang. He taped it. She named names and
places. Unfortunately, she named his father, brother, and uncle. The
Feds have been onto Carla since the bomb and they know about the tapes.
Now they want Carla, the tapes...and Uncle Gino, Alex finishes. Tony
gives Alex the key to the safety deposit box. He takes it. What now?
Will he change his name, address, face? Tony asks him if he has any
better ideas.

What was he thinking when he made those tapes, Tony wonders. Burn them,
Alex says. He can't, Tony says. The Feds already got to him. They
know
enough with or without those tapes because they know he has the info
they
need. How do they know so much? Federal Agent Rebecca Wooding. Buck's
gallery friend. She's a Fed. She used Buck to get close to them. And
now she's putting the squeeze on him, Alex says. What is the offer?
Witness protection. Don't even talk about it, he says. He could never
do it. He couldn't leave Ally, him, his family. His family? His
family
is the one that got him into this mess. No, he got himself into this
mess, Tony says. Whatever happens, Alex has his back. Maybe they can
find a place for Tony to lay low for a while. Not tonight. Tonight,
he's going to get his lady, listen to some very good music, and enjoy
himself.

A subpoena isn't an accusation, but they will make him testify, Joc
explains. Then his life gets flushed down the toilet in the witness
protection program, Ally says. Can't he plead the 5th? No, his
evidence
isn't self-incriminating. So, they can force him to testify. Except in
special circumstances, like a psychiatrist, priest, or husband. He's
none of those. He's going to need a good lawyer.
There's a knock at the door. It's them. Tony hugs her and she says
needs to talk to him. She asked Joc about the subpoena. What did she
say? He's not mad at her? How could he be mad at her for looking out
for him? and Alex, and now Jocelyn . With all the bad stuff going on,
tonight he's going to make all the problems disappear. They are going
to
go out, listen to Nick, have a few drinks, and have fun and nothing is
going to stop them.

The four of them are sitting at a table. Someone gives Tony a message.
He gets up saying his brother, Joey, is at the back door and the bouncer
won't let him in. This guy doesn't know who he's messing with. He'd
better go out there before Joey hurts somebody. He leaves.

Tony is in the hallway. He calls his brother and says they are getting
too old to play hide and seek. A gloved hand covers Tony's face with a
cloth. He struggles, then falls to the ground.
