Wednesday on "the city":

Nick comes in and says that was the worst. No, he takes
that back, the band was the worst. But, Angie says, after
they finished their set, Nick wanted them as his backup
band. But, he changed his mind, Nick says. Jacob says
the deal is already struck. The band is thrilled to be
putting down some tracks with the famous Nick Rivers.
Angie gets called away. Nick leaves, he needs a drink,
he says. What's *his* problem, Jacob says Loraine. Loraine
says she's not sure. Angie comes over and tells them
that Buck and Tess never made it to the Rainbow Room.
They delivered a baby instead, here in the bar.

Upstairs, Buck and Tess are dancing. He wonders if she's
dissapointed. Does this look like a dissapointed face?
Buck says he's glad they're alone, so he can do this.
He kisses her.

Molly is upset that Danny is thinking of working for Sydney.

Zoey is dishing out the food, and Sydney is complaining.
Do you want this in your lap or on the table, Zoey asks.
Do you really want to know where I want you to put it?
Sydney replies. Richards suggest that they be civil to
each other. Sydney says she didn't think Zoey was here.
The manager gave Sydney her clothes, Zoey says. Sydney
says that the last she knew, they had broken up and
Richard never wanted to see Zoey again.

Molly says that Sydney Chase knows Danny, too well. She
wants him...for herself. (ed. note: sorry I'm not
portraying her irrational gestures or emotional outbursts).

Jacob sits next to Nick at the bar. What's bugging him?
He's got a lot riding on this record, Nick says, and that
band will not cut it. Jacob says it's not the band, what
is it? If he's not feeling well, Jacob suggests, they can
postpone it. Nick says no, he doesn't want his illness to
interfere with anything. He gets testy. Loraine tells
Angie and Jacob to give Nick some space.

Zoey is eating. Sydney says this is terrible. Why doesn't
she take them all out to a real Mexican restraunt? Zoey
says she likes this. Richard tells them to knock it off.
She sends Richard out to the corner liquor store so she
and Zoey can clear the air and bury the hatchet. Okay,
Richard says, as long as they don't bury it in each other's
heads. Richard leaves. Zoey says she has to go to the
bathroom. You're not going anywhere, you little tramp,
Sydney says.

Nick appologizes, but he's trying to focus on the concert.
Angie gets him to promise to check into the hospital as
soon as the concert is over. Jacob talks to Nick about
the rehersal. Nick wants to move it up to 9. AM? Jacob
says. We're talking musicians, Jacob says, they don't
do mornings. Nick says MAKE THE CALL! Jacob says okay,
and turns to Angie and suggest they give him his SPACE.
Loraine sits down and asks how bad he feels, or is this
really nerves? It's nerves, Nick says. He says his
antidote to nerves is a bottle of bourbon, a shot glass,
and a pretty woman who can pour as fast as he can toss
'em down. Loraine looks worried.

Tess pulls away, telling Buck that they need to take
this slow. They sit down, and Buck tells her that she
is the the woman who most irritates him. And this is
suppose to make her feel better? Tess asks. Buck
continues, and the woman who turns him on the most.
Buck says they're getting to know each other first.
They talk about taking it slow, and who would have
guessed how wonderful it is.

You call me a tramp? Zoey yells, I didn't get pregnant
with someone, then marry money and tell everyone that
the baby died. They argue about who loves Richard most.
Zoey says she has all the money in the world, but she
has no life. She can buy another suit, but she needs a
man. No, Sydney says, she can have any man she wants!
On the other hand, Zoey has no home, no career, no
future. *She* needs a man, and Sydney will do anything
to make sure it is not her son!

Danny says Sydney is rich enough to get any man in town.
Molly says she wants YOU. Danny says that this is a
business-only arrangement. Molly says she knows he had
an affair with Sydney and Tess knows; she overheard her
talking in the bar. Danny is surprised that she would
believe those rumors. Whatever happened in the past, he
wants her, and only her. Let him prove that. Stay with
him otnight? They kiss and fall to the couch.

Richard returns. Well, there is no blood stains, and
they're both standing. That's good, he says. Sydney says
that they came to an understanding. Sydney leaves.
Richard wants to know what went on. Zoey says they
cleared the air. She tried to get Sydney close to the
window so she could push her out, but she wouldn't turn
her back on her. Smart woman, Richard laughs. Zoey says
he does know that she loves him, right? They kiss. Zoey
suggests they have the champaign. She sees a toothbrush
in the bag. What's this. It's a toothbrush, Richard says.
Doesn't he have one? Zoey asks. It's for her...for here...
you know...Oh, Zoey says, like my toothbrush next to your
toothbrush? Is that okay? Zoey smiles and says that's fine.

Molly declines Danny's offer to stay the night. She has
an audition, it's a long-shot, but she wants to get some
rest and look her best. She asks him to walk her home.
All the way across the hall? Danny asks. Well, yes, she
says. They leave.

Loraine brings over some tea with honey and lemon. It's
good for his throat. He tells her that with all the people
looking out for him, he just is worried that he'll
dissappoint them all. She tells him to drink his tea. Danny
is sitting at the bar. Sydney comes in. He tells her he has
thought about her offer. She says good, she is tired, and
hungry...he says he doesn't want to go up to her penthouse.
Why does he think that's what she was going to say? She was
just going to order a sandwich and take it back upstairs to
eat by herself. Why don't they met for breakfast, Sydney
says...down here, in the bar tomorrow. Danny says fine.
Should he order anything for her? She turns and leaves.

The band is playing "Crazy Love" for this whole paragraph...
Buck and Tess approach Tess' door, Tess returns to Buck and
kisses him again. Zoey took toothpase (shaving cream?) and
put a heart with I love Richard on the medicine cabinet.
Richard takes some of the toothpase (shaving cream?) and
puts it on Zoey's nose. They laugh. Loraine is watching Nick
drink his tea. (ed. note: Did I mess any couples?) Sydney
walks to her penthouse, alone.
