Tuesday on "the city":

Angie is in the park, walking aimlessly. She sees two people
kiss, and they drop a carnation. She picks it up and looks
at it longingly. Jacob comes over. Hi, Angie says, isn't he
suppose to be at the bar today? Yes, but he's the boss, he
gave himself a break. She has to head back to the clinic,
Angie says. She tells him that she called the hospital and
Ally will be oaky, and she's probably back home already.
That's good, Buck says. Silence. Whoops, Jacob says, all
out of small talk. Can they start with the big talk now?
Angie goes first. She misses him. He misses her, too.

Nick kisses Loraine. Buck says hands off the help. Put it
on the tab, Nick offers. Tess comes in and asks if she is
interrupting anything? She just left Tony and Ally, and
they were in the exact same position. Nick, breaking away
from Loraine, says finally, a happy, happy ending in this
building. Does anyone know how the hearing is going? Buck
just called the courtroom and it's still going on.

Alex is sworn in. He has a video tape from the camera in
the Roberts' building that shows clearly Danny Roberts
entering and leaving the building, proving that he could
not have killed Jared Chase. The camera pans in to Jocelyn,
she looks like she just spilled her guts for nothing.

Angie tells Jacob it's his turn. Last night, at the hospital,
Jacob start, when they thought they would lose Ally, he
wondered, what if...what if it was her? Angie suggests.
She was thinking the same, she was wondering what if that
was him. She remember sitting at his bed in Corinth hospital
when he was close to death, and she didn't lose him then.
Jacob says, it's too bad that it took a near-death experience
to make them see what they have. Angie says he was right, she
shut him out about the sleepwalking, and about being a suspect
in the killing. Angie admits that she was worried that he
would stop loving her. The stupid part, she admits. She
promises that she will not forget today, or last night, and
what it would be like to lose him. She will never forget
that he loves her and will love her. His turn, she says. He
thinks the doctor has said it all. They hug. Good to have
you back, Angie says.

Buck appologizes for busting in on him and Tess in bed.
It's forgotten, Buck says. Tess comes over and Nick changes
the subject to "Hows about those Mets?" Buck tells Nick to
go tune his guitar. Already done, Nick says. Then, Buck says,
go play with his...strings. Buck starts to ask Tess out, but
that girl he dated once gets his attention.

Alex plays the tape. Here is Danny entering, 6-21 8:19pm
(sorry about the details, I'm not sure of the date and time).
Here is Danny leaving; it's 8:38pm. The judge asks what time
was Jared Chase killed? Shots were heard at approximately
8:30. Danny's lawyer requests that all charges be dropped
against Danny Roberts. Molly hugs Danny's mother. Jocelyn
looks like she's gonna be sick.

The prosecutor tries to object. The judge tells court that
the prosecution presented only circumstancial evidence, but
the defense clearly showed proof of Danny's whereabouts at
the time of the murder. She sees no reason to hold the defendant
over for trial. There is a shout for joy in the court. Silence,
please, the judge orders. She tells Danny not to leave the
court's jurisdiction, until the court can look over the tape.
He's free to go, she says. Molly runs up to Danny, crying.
She's so happy that it's over, she says. If these are tears
of joy, Danny says, he'd hate to see the ones she does when
she's sad. Alex goes to Sydney and tells her that his work
is not over, he still has to find the killer.

Jacob suggests that Angie and he get married today! She wants
a week. A lot can happen in a week. She wants to give Frankie
a chance to come back, and he has Nick's concert. They kiss.
He tells her to come with him, he has a surprise.

Nick comes back and asks about them Yankees. Buck tells him
he's asking for it. Buck asks the girl he dated if there was
anything else he can get her. She rubs his hand and tells
him he always knew the things to ask her. Tess excuses herself
to get some air...some fresh air. Loraine stops her and Tess
asks if there is any sushi in the kitchen. Loraine sends Tess
back to the bar, where she hears teh girl ask Buck out and
Buck tells her that he's busy Friday. She leaves, disappointed.
Tess asys this is probably none of her business, but what is
he busy with on Friday? Her, he hopes. Is she available? She'll
have to check with her secretary, but she thinks so. What's he
got in mind? Something they've never done before, he says.
Her eyes widen.

Okay, she gives up, Tess says. He wants to go uptown, to the
Rainbow Room. dinner, dancing, maybe a buggy ride through
central park. The rainbow room? Tess asks; the rainbow room?
she keeps repeating. Nick says before they start talking about
what they'll do after the buggy ride, he's leaving. He goes to
Loraine, and tells her that it's getting hot over there. She
thinks it's wonderful. He tells her about the Rainbow Room and
the buggy ride. He wants to take her there. Maybe when his
record goes platinum, she offers. He never wanted money, but
now that he has her to spend it on, he wouldn't mind having
some. And what would he do with all that money? She asks. He'd
buy the bar, and give her the day of, and take her upstairs....
they kiss, going hummmm.

Back at their place, Jacob shows Angie the family bible. He
shows her the tree, he wants their names in there, too. Without
benefit of clergy? He fells married to her already. Does she
mind? She signs. Welcome to the family, Mrs. Foster, Jacob says.
They kiss.

Richard says Danny was charming. Without mentioning their
involvement. She wants to go talk to Danny. Sydney congratulats
him. They hug. She whispers in his ear thanks for not mentioning
us. Da nada, Danny says. They hug. Molly looks on, and is not
happy. Jocelyn comes over, asking if he has another hug available.
Danny says he really wishes she hadn't done that. She might be
disbarred, he fears. She might, jocelyn says, but she'll be fine.
Correction, councelor, Alex says, *they'll* be fine. Jocelyn
looks at Alex, and walks to him. They hug, as the camera pans
back and shows the emptying courtroom.
