Hi everybody!

I'm back and would like to thank Ruth once again for doing such a great
job covering for me last week. Most of today's episode took place in
the City Bar, but first....

WHERE'S THE LITTLE BACK-UP SINGER NOW?
Location: Sydney's penthouse

*Nick wants to know if their child *really* died. "It's not just about
what Jared said(when Nick was attacked), it's the way you've been acting
ever since I walked through this door." Sydney never told Nick about
the child when she was pregnant and she denied the whole thing at first
when he found out about the baby. Why should he believe she's not lying
now?

*Losing the baby was the worst thing that ever happened to Sydney. Nick
has the nerve to accuse her of lying about it? All Nick wants are some
straight answers. When he left Sydney to go on the road, all that was
standing between her and a huge fortune was an illigimate child. The
baby was stillborn? "That's way too convenient." Sydney wanted to be
rid of the child as much as Jared did, Nick accuses. "You're a damned
liar", Sydney shouts. "Ooh, struck a nerve, have we?", taunts Nick.

*Sydney reminds Nick that he didn't want to a daddy back then. He
always made sure she took her birth control because he didn't want "any
little back-up singers to crowd him on the stage". Nick never mentioned
marriage or a commitment to her. "So you went for the money", Nick says
bitterly. And the security, Sydney replies. Jared didn't ask her to
have an abortion. Why did the baby die, Nick wants to know. The
doctors didn't know, but they told Sydney she couldn't have any more
children. She just wanted to forget, why can't Nick just leave her
alone?

*Nick reminds Sydney that unless he gets a transplant, he could die any
day. "Spare me the hearts and flowers", says Sydney. Sydney's not
going to tell him anything, is she? She's told him everything. She has
some advice for him, forget the past and concentrate what he has now.
Nick gives up and leaves.

TONY AND HIS DAD
Location: Tony's apartment

*Tony's looking for something in a trunk. He obviously can't find
whatever he's looking for. He goes to the phone and calls his mom.
Tony needs a favor, no, not money ma. It has to do with a girl he's
met.

*Tony's dad arrives, bringing with him a bag which contains whatever
Tony asked for. Tony tells his dad he's got a new girfriend, but no,
she's not Italian. Tony's dad remembers seeing Ally at the hospital
(when Joey was shot). "Well, one thing's for sure, she's not pregnant"
(like Steffi was when he met her) Tony's dad says he's not working for
Uncle Gino anymore. Tony gets the feeling that something's wrong. Is
it Joey? No, says dad, Joey's "a born soldier, the kind of guy that
takes orders without asking too many questions. He's not a go-getter
like his Uncle Gino, or you Anthony", "Or like Carla", Tony responds,
his dad must have heard that Tony's been talking to Carla. Tony's dad
starts to leave. Tony mentions getting Yankee tickets. His dad tells
him a story about going to see the Dodgers when he was a boy. "Those
were the days." He starts to leave, but Tony asks him again if anything
is wrong. "Hey, what could be wrong." (This whole scene was very
strange, like something else was going on that I just wasn't getting.
Especially the story he told about going to see the Dodgers, it was very
weird.)

(The rest of the scenes occur in the City Bar. Some of the storylines
overlap, so I'll just give them to you in the order that they happened)

ALL THE REST
Location: The City Bar

*Ally is sitting at a table by herself in the bar. Molly comes in and
joins her. Ally asks how Danny is. Molly says "Oh, well, you know how
he is, he's always trying to cheer everyone else up" (Is this Danny
Roberts she's talking about???:-)), but he's scared. Why is Ally
sitting by herself? She's avoiding Tony because she acted like a
"jealous madwoman". Why? "Harvard brains, gorgeous face, 2% body fat in
all the right places, wrapped up in an Armani suit." "A mob princess by
the name of Carla Soleito." Carla appears, "Did somebody call my name?"

*Azure climbs the winding staircase to the second level of the City Bar
and joins Zoe, who's playing with a plate of french fries. She's bummed
because Richard won't even acknowledge she exists, she's invisible to
him. Azure points out that Zoe broke up with him, it's what she wanted.
It's all Sydney's fault, Zoe rants. Sydney told her to break up with
Richard. "Because he's your brother", Azure reminds her."Half-brother",
says Zoe (as if that makes a big difference). And you were going to
sleep together. "So?", Zoe says. She can't help it, she still loves
Richard, and not as a brother. (The next shot shows Richard entering
the City Bar below them.)

*What if Sydney was lying, she concocted the whole story about Richard
being her and Nick's child just to break Richard and Zoe up, Zoe
suggests to Azure. After all, Zoe made up that whole story about
"Father Luke". Maybe she's just been "a puppet on Sydney's little
string". Azure can't believe that Zoe's still talking about getting
back together with Richard. Zoe reminds Azure that she was the one who
got Bernardo to propose "without even letting him know that you spent
your Wonder Years using the men's room". Azure replies, "Well, maybe if
I had been up front with him and told him the truth right away...."
"What, you think Bernardo would have just said 'You used to be a guy,
Cool!'" Well, Azure has learned that you shouldn't lie. What will
happen if Zoe and Richard get back together with him not knowing he's
her brother? "Half-brother", Zoe says again. She'll cross that bridge
when she gets there (she looks down at Richard sitting at the bar).

*Carla introduces herself to Molly as Tony's cousin. "Molly and Ally,
those are such cute little names. You two sound like something straight
out of 'Beach Blanket Bingo'"(Somebody slap this witch, please) Ally
asks why Carla's there. She's there to visit Tony, she'll try to find
him at his apartment, they have alot to talk about. "Cute outfit", she
says to Molly as she turns and walks away(I don't think it was meant as
a compliment). "Yes, I do hate her", says Ally. Ally explains to Molly
about mentioning his letter jacket to Tony. She meant it figuratively,
an example of a symbol to make their going out official. Ally can't
believe she was so stupid about it.

*Carla spots Richard sitting at the bar and introduces herself. She did
her masters thesis on his father. Adopted father, Richard tells her.
"Being adopted is something we have in common". (Shot of Zoe, who's
getting jealous watching Richard talk to Carla) Zoe's not going to sit
there "while some tramp tries to get my man." She gets up and heads
towards the stairs.

*Azure grabs Zoe and literally pulls her back to the table. Zoe says
"Oh, come on, the English royal family has been marrying off cousins for
years, centuries." Azure replies, "Yeah, and that's how they wound up
with Prince Charles." But that's cousins, Richard is her brother.
"Half-brother" and if I don't have kids, so what, Zoe says. She can't
live without Richard.

*Carla pays for Richard's drink, tells him what a good job he does on
Hotline and says it's amazing that Sydney's his mother. Richard tells
her if she's trying to get to Sydney through him, it's not going to
work. No, no, it's just amazing to her that he's made such a name for
himself, Sydney must be very proud.

*Ally is watching Carla and Richard from across the room. She wonders
what Carla's agenda is. Molly says, "She and Sydney would make a great
pair. They could have a witch-off at 40 paces." "Yeah, and hopefully
they'd both make their mark", Ally agrees.

*Zoe says she should have taken the money and she and Richard should
have run away together. But Zoe knows the truth, she has to face it.
Maybe, maybe not, Zoe replies. Carla asks Richard if he would like to
go to dinner. Zoe walks up to them, "Sorry, sweetcakes, Richard's too
busy for dinner". Zoe tells Carla that she's Richard's co-host on
Hotline. "You know, it's funny", Carla says, "I thought people looked
heavier on TV" Zoe asks Carla, "Can you do me a favor and go play in
traffic?" (Yeah, Zoe!!)

*Tony shows up in the bar, carrying a plastic bag. Ally apologizes for
earlier. Tony says he doesn't want to hear it, they have no hold on
each other. "We're just friends that got friendly, that's all". Ally,
though obviously hurt, agrees with him. Tony then gets up on a chair,
introduces himself and gives Ally his letter jacket because she's his
special girl. He asks her to go steady and everyone claps while Carla
looks on unhappily.

LOD: Several good ones today, I really liked the line about Prince
Charles, but the winner is:

Zoe (to Azure):[Azure got Bernardo to propose to her] without
even letting him know that you spent your Wonder
			Years using the men's room.

That's it for today, see you next week!
