The Last Wednesday in "the city":

TV
PG

In Nick's apartment, Zoey wonders why Nick is being
so secretive. Nick says that curiosity killed the
cat. He wants her to wait to see who paid the back
taxes. Zoey says questions, Nick tries to evade the
questions (although he did give correct answers).
Zoey asks what Nick is doing rubbing noses with the
upper class. Well, Nick was in the gutter, and along
came this rich guy. Nick says is it so strange that
he has rich friends? Well, him and Sydney was strange.
Zoey thinks maybe it was that strange woman from the
park that feeds the birds. No no really cold. The
doorbell rings. It's Richard. What is *he* doing here?

Danny runs into Ally at the elevator. She forgot her
passport, she says. Danny realizes she hasn't talked
to Tony. About WHAT? Ally asks.

In the penthouse, Carla tells Tracy that Tony knows.
Did he figure it out himself? Tracy asks. Carla says
she told Tony, so Tracy doesn't have anything over
her anymore. Tracy says that's too bad, she was
looking forward to telling him herself. Carla wants
Tracy out of the building by midnight tonight. Tracy
owns half the building, how does Carla think she's
going to get her out? Oh, a 220 pound guy...remember
Vito? Tracy says he is...was...Gino's charming driver.
Well, he's not always so charming, Carla gloats.

Tracy says doesn't Carla wonder why Tracy called her
up here? She thinks that maybe they could go over
Gino's personal things, so they can bond. Carla says
where did she get that? There's this little place on
Atlantic Avenue. Carla says she shouldn't have gone
there. It's not safe. They trade barbs. Tracy says
is she saying that she's, as her friend would say,
fish food? Carla says the fish may reject her, but
there are always the bottom feeders. Tracy says that
she is not leaving, and Vito will not "take care" of
her...because of this, and she holds up the folder.

Zoey is upset that Richard is there. This was another
setup. Nick told her that she would meet the person
who paid the taxes on the building, so where is this
person? Nick says if Richard doesn't tell her, he will.
Zoey tries to leave, and Richard stops her. She has to
listen to what he wants to say, Richard says. He'll
have to tie her to a chair. We aim to please, Richard
says with a smile.

Danny says he can't believe that Tony hasn't found her.
Ally goes on and on about how great a friend he's been
and how he's been there for her and he's the only one
she can trust. Danny finally stops her and says there
is something he has to tell her...and she's not going
to like it.

Zoey says you guys have had your fun, now untie me. Nick
thinks that his son has a right to speak his mind. She
says she'll scream the house down. She starts screaming.
Richard stuffs a rag in her mouth. Nick leaves to go to
the hospital. Richard starts talking, saying they can have
a conversation, although it'll be one-sided. Richard says
that Nick did not bring her here on false pretenses. He
paid the taxes. OOO, she tries to say through the rag.
Yes. Y. Why? Richard says, because, he brought the
Corinthians here to get back at Sydney, and not being
able to evict them, Syd burdeoned you all with the taxes.
And he did it for her. ER? Yes, Richard says, he loves
her. He takes the rag out of her mouth. He continues
with how much he loves her and hopes that he hasn't lost
her. Well, with that, Richard says, the prisoner is free
to go. Richard? she says, she doesn't think she wants to
go.

Carla says the corporations and accounts are nothing
interesting. Well, Tracy says it was easy, once she
cracked the codes. Fred's laundry? And just how much money
did Fred Launder? And Corporate Steel? Well, she'll leave
that one alone. Carla says she knew nothing about those
corporations. Gee, Tracy says, her initials are all over
the papers. CMS...What does the M stand for? Tracy asks;
Murder? Her's maybe, Carla says. Tracy puts all the papers
on the table, and turns her back. Carla grabs them and
throws them into the fireplace. Tracy turns around and
laughs her laugh.

Danny tells Ally that he and Carla have been plotting to
break her and Tony up. He tells her about the plan to
bring Tyler home, and that Carla was ready with the
martini's for Tony, but she did her job too good, he passed
out. When he woke up, Carla lied that they had made love.
So, Carla is not pregnant? Ally asks. Oh, she's pregnant
now. But it's not Tony's baby. It's his, Danny says.

Danny says he's so ashamed of what he's done. He reaches for
her. Ally tells him not to touch her. He won't. Does Tony
know? Last night, Danny says. She runs to look for her ring,
but it's gone. Oh, no, she has to find him. She grabs her
coat, glares at Danny and runs out.

Does she plan on staying in that chair forever? Richard asks.
He kisses her. He missed that. And other things, Zoey says.
Ah, yes...those other things, Richard smiles. She suggest
he untie her. He starts, then wonders if she's just saying
those things to get away. Maybe, Zoey says. He unties her
and she races to the door. Zoey? She stops, turns around
and runs into his arms. Psych, Zoey says. Forever? Richard
asks. Yes, she says. He says that they should go to his
place, Nick and Loraine may be back soon. But, Richard says,
they have to stop and get a toothbrush. Why? Some one took
off with one of the two he had. Did he report it to the
police? Zoey asks. He didn't have much of a description.
She ran out so far, all he noticed was she was beautiful.
There are a lot of beautiful women in NY. There's only one
beautiful woman for him, Richard says as he gazes into her
eyes.

Tracy is still laughing. Carla wants in on the joke. Tracy
loves grand jestures. Did Carla really think she'd let
Carla get her hands on the originals? That was only a couple
of dollars worth of copies. Carla wants to know what Tracy
wants. Tracy says she wants Carla out of here, and no one
is going to bother her agian. Or, Tracy threatens, Carla
will be having her baby shower in the pen. Carla leaves,
and at the door says they'll meet agasin. Tracy will count
the minutes, and slams the door in Carla's face. Carla
stares at the door and leaves. Tracy looks up a number,
dials, and then asks for Mr. Giordano. She'll wait, she
has all the time in the world.
