The last Tuesday in "the city":

TV
PG

Jocelyn brings Danny coffee at the GenX office.
She wants him to tell her why he didn't sleep
last night and what he couldn't tell her over
the phone. Did he tell Tony and Ally? Jocelyn
asks. Last night, Danny says, at Tony's. How
did it go? He's still breathing, Danny says.
What did Ally say? She was there for the pre-
game, Danny says, but she missed the major part.
Danny talked to Zoey. Seems Ally left last night.
No one knows where. Jocelyn tells him he has to
find Ally and tell her. Let Tony do it, Danny
says. Stick a fork in him, he says, he's done.

Alex comes in and wonders what Tony is up to.
Tony says that Danny told him that he was the
father of the baby. Ally, unfortunately, came
in when Tony was massaging Carla's legs. She
took off with the baby before he could tell her
that Carla's baby is Danny's.

Angie shows up at the hospital, looking for
Loraine when my phone rings. Loraine isn't there.

Angie hears Loraine calling for her. She's in
the closet, trying to get dressed. She wants to
get to the alley. There isn't much time. Loraine
needs Angie to help her. Angie said she didn't
sleep much, worrying about her. Loraine says she
doesn't want Angie to worry, she wants her to
help! Angie gets her back in to bed, and tells
Loraine that she'll help. She talked to Jacob,
and he had an idea that just might work. Does
Loraine have any idea where the alley is? It's in
SoHo, Loraine says, she can find it. Did she see
any signs? There is a sign. Begins with an L,
Loraine says. Angie suggests a police sketch
artist. Angie says it would be safer.

Tony says he called Kate, as he and Alex walk into
the PI office. Danny and Jocelyn leave the office
area. Jocelyn says he got out of that with his life.
Well, Danny says, he'll have to stand in line behind
Carla. Danny wants to know his rights as the baby's
father. He wants to be a full-time father. Maybe
teach him or her to shoot hoops. Her first piece of
advice is to get on Carla's good side. He'll need a
microscope to find it, Danny says. She wants him to
make nice with Carla. She tells him that he doesn't
want this to go to court. He has a couple of months
before the baby is born. Starting right now, Jocelyn
says. Danny leaves to go see Carla. Tony is on the
phone with Ally's mom. Tony hangs up. Well, she might
have been there, sitting right next to her. Maybe he
should tell her mother the whole story so she can tell
Ally. Alex says she has too many ties to family.
Cooper, Tony says! She can't do a thing with Tyler
without telling Cooper!

Carla, in Tony's apartment, pours milk and says she
hates this stuff. Remember the nice hot chocolate that
Tony made for them, he liked that, didn't he? she says
as she strokes her stomach. Right before Danny blew
it for them all. There's a knock on the door. It's
Danny. Carla tries to close the door on him. Danny
comes in and says he wants to help support his child.
He wants to do *WHAT*? Carla asks.

Angie calls security and tells them that she found
Loraine Hawkins. Angie then calls the police to get
an artist. Loraine says that whatever is going to
happen, is going to happen NOW! And if she's not
there, she can't help. Angie wants her to tell her
everything that she saw. She just knows that something
terrible is going to happen, or did happen. Try to
think hard, Angie suggests. Try to remember. Lay back,
relax, remember.

Tony wants to call Cooper again. Alex says he left a
message, Cooper will call back. Alex asks where he
slept last night. Tony isn't sure where (or if) he
slept last night. Why didn't he go home? He couldn't
have dealt with the praise and congratulations. And
he couldn't go to Alex's house. Why not? Oh, Alex
realizes. Jocelyn. Tony was all over New York, looking
for her. Cooper calls back. Alex answers. He hands the
phone to Tony.

Carla says Danny can barely afford himself, and he
wants to help? Carla said Tony was bluffing, he would
have had a couple more months of loving the baby and
bonding, and then it wouldn't have mattered what the
test results showed. But noooooo, Danny has to cave
in and ruin it all for both of them. The phone rings.
It's Tracy. She wants to talk to Carla. Wonderful,
Carla sighs. Fine, she conceeds.

Loraine tells Angie that something bad is going to
happen in that alley, if she doesn't get there in
time. Angie agrees to go there for her, would that
work? Yes, yes. Loraine tells her it's in SoHo.
There's a hot dog stand...no, a store. Red neon
lights. There's a horse, a carrousel, like a
merry-go-round. A blinking light, on and off...and
a sign, but she doesn't know what it says. She can
find it with those clues. Have faith. Angie agees.
Be careful, Loraine says. Angie leaves, Loraine says,
Oh, God, help her find the alley, help her get there
in time.

Thanks, Cooper. Well, she's not in Paris. But, she
will be there soon. Alex tells him to go tell Zoey
that Danny is the father of the baby, and then she'll
tell him where Ally is. Alex sends him off to find
Zoey, promising to man the phones. He heads over to
Jocelyn. Bet he knows what she knows, she says. She's
going to be an aunt, Alex says. Jocelyn wonders how
long Alex has known. He and Tony have wondered for a
few weeks now. Jocelyn tells Alex that she found out
last night, after Danny gave her the family-discounted
retainer. They talk about Danny's ability to be a good
father.

Carla tells Danny to leave. He tells her that he wants
to be a part of this baby's life. Carla says no way.
Danny says he wanted to make up, but if she wants it
this way, then she'll be in for a custody suit. He
opens the door, and leaves. She walks out after him
and says so much for ladies first. She heads up stairs
and he gets in the elevator, running into Ally.

Tracy is putting the knives away. Always safe to hide
the sharp objects, she says to herself. There a
pounding on the door. Must be Carla, Tracy says. She
opens the door. Tracy thanks her for dropping everything
and coming right up. No, thank you, Carla says. Tracy
says the pleasure is all hers.
