Storyline: Too little, Too late?

Tracey finds some papers and the door opens. She
hides. Its Alex. What is she doing on the floor? Is
he trying to give her a heart attack? No, hes trying to
save her from another kind of attack. He wants to
leave. Hes not turning this into the gunfight at the OK
corral. Tracey hides the papers in her bag as they
leave.

Tony is massaging Carlas thigh when Danny and Ally
walk in. Ally is upset and leaves. Danny stops him.
They argue. Carla says Danny shouldnt have barged
in. They were having a private moment. Danny is
sorry that he interrupted Tony moving his hand up her
leg. Tony says she had a cramp. Danny doesnt buy
it. Tony says he sounds jealous. Danny denies it.
Danny asks what is with the boxes. They are packing
for LA. He turns to Carla and says he thought they
were still in the talking stage. Tony says they are
going. A house, a yard, a swingset...Danny says.
Tony says a swingset is a good idea. But, Danny
says, Ally thinks they are going to live happily ever
after. Carla says that is the problem: Ally still
believes in fairy tales, but shell get over it. Danny
doesnt know, it could take a while, considering she is
still wearing Tonys engagement ring.

Ally is packing and babbling about trusting Tony.
Zoey asks if she comes with sub-titles or does she
need an interpreter? Tyler walks in. Ally goes into
Mom-Mode and tells him they are going on a trip. He
should go pack as much as he can. Zoey will help
him in a minute. Tyler leaves. Ally doesnt know
where they are going. Zoey says she is being a tad
bit impulsive. Ally says Tony has been lying to her for
a long time. She just walked in on him and Carla.
Zoey thinks that they were having sex, but Ally says
no, they were on their way there. Ally has to get out
of there. But tonight?, Zoey asks? She will go help
Tyler pack, but shell be back.

He gave Ally a ring?, Carla asks. Yes, he did. He
cant do that. What about California? Was he
planning on taking her there and dumping her?
Danny asks if hes moving, who is he taking with him?
Carla? Ally? Both of them? Is he going to keep
stringing them along? Playing games, Danny?, Tony
asks. Thats funny, because that is what they have
been doing all along. Paternity, Tony says. Tony
knows that the baby is Dannys and not his. He
doesnt know what kind of a man Danny is, but there
is no way in hell that he is going to be father to
Dannys kid.

Dillon is at a play date. Can she get him a drink? She
says they certainly deserve on after surviving
Brooklyn. Alex calls her a snob. Is that supposed to
be an insult?, she asks. Her subway days are over.
He didnt hear her thank him for finding a cab for her.
He was so sweet, rushing in on his white horse. Well,
he had an agenda. He figured if she got herself killed
by the mob, she would just come back and haunt him
like an angry ghost. Not angry--vengeful, she says.
Why is she so happy? Because he was so galant.
She was very anxious to find something in Ginos
apartment, what was it? Nothing. What did she find?
What could she have possibly found in Brooklyn?

Tylers clothes are all packed and they even managed
to pack all of his stuffed animals. Zoey thought she
had problems wth Richard, but for her to actually see
Tony and Carla, skin to skin... Ally stops her. Tony
kept asking her to give him more time, that he would
make everything better. Zoey doesnt get it. How can
he make a pregnancy go away? He cant. She
doesnt know what she was thinking. Zoey did the
same thing with Richard. Tony gave her this ring and
he said next Friday, at the ice skating rink, he was
going to put it on her finger and make it official. How
romantic, how smooth, Zoey says. Ally wont tell Zoey
where she is going because then she cant tell Tony
when he comes to ask. Zoey could send him on a
wild-goose chase to the North Pole. The North Pole,
in March? It works for Zoey. As long as she packs
Tylers snow shoes, Ally says. They hug.

Carla and Danny deny it, but Tony keeps pushing
Danny to admit it. Carla says she loves him and
would lever lie to him, would never cheat on him, will
always be there for him. Tony asks Danny if he is
getting all of it. Tony doesnt know how he lives with
himself. He went from a no-good drug dealer to a
stud for hire. Did he ever stop to think of the
consequences? He is going to have a child in this
world and he is never going to know him. They start
arguing and Carla tries to break them up. Danny tries
to leave, but Tony says, like father, like son. Tony
says that when the baby is born, he is going to have a
paternity test. Carla is insulted, but Tony says its his
right. Tony keeps saying that he is worse than his
father because his father at least waited until after he
was born to push him away. He says Danny is
denying his flesh and blood and Danny yells that it is
not! Carla gasps, Danny!

Tony tells Danny to say it. Carla tries to stop him, but
he ignores her. Tony wants to know what it is going
to feel like when Carla has the baby and he cant hold
it, he cant hug it... Thats not going to happen, Danny
says. Tony says he and Carla are having a baby and
he never stopped to think about how it is going to feel.
Thats not true, Danny says. Why cant he feel
anything for his child, the child he created? Why
doesnt he feel love for his child? Danny bursts: He
does, all right? Its his! He thinks he knows
everything, he thinks hes so damn smart. He played
Daddy with Steffis baby, and with Allys baby, but hes
not going to play Daddy with his baby. Danny is going
to raise a better kid than he ever could. Carla says
its not true, but Tony says it is. Carla tries to lie, but
Tony says shes pathetic and God help that baby. He
leaves and Carla goes to Danny. She goes to hit him,
but he stops her and says its over and hes not
leaving his child. He leaves and she cries.

Zoey is lying on the bed listening to music when Tony
comes in. He thinks it is Ally and runs upstairs. Zoey
tells him he is too late. Ally left something on the
counter for him. He runs downstairs, excited, but
quickly loses his vigor when he sees what she left
him: the ring.

What did Tracey find in Ginos apartment? He was
there. He also went out for a while. If he thinks she is
hiding something, why doesnt he search her and
make it a strip search so that it will be something
theyll both enjoy. People exchange very interesting
secrets during pillow-talk. Alex says her pillow and his
pillow will never co-mingle. His loss, she says. Have
a nice life, he tells her as he leaves. She plans on it.
Hell be back, she says as she opens the file laughing.

Storyline: Premonition, anyone?

Angie and Jacob are sitting at dinner in a chinese
restaurant and Jacob is asking her yes/no questions
about what she wants. She is answering absent-
mindedly. He offers her Shrimp-fried-cardboard. She
answers, either way. He snaps her out of it. Shes
sorry. She just cant stop thinking about Lorraine. So,
Lorraine had a near-death experience--Angie should
let it go. Angie says she did not just have a near-
death experience, she had a premonition. She cites
that some patients under severe trauma who have
been documented as having visions. She isnt going
to let this go, is she? No. This was Lorraines
experience, not hers, he says. Angie never bought
into the mystical mumbo jumbo before, why start now?

Lorraine said she was in front of a beautiful white light.
That description matches a lot of descriptions of
occurrences of the same sort. Jacob says that most
of them take place in a tunnel, but Lorraine said she
was in an alley. Angie says Lorraine believes it was in
NY. Doesnt that seem strange to Angie? Instead of
running into St. Peter, she runs into Rocko in a dark
alley. A little room for skepticism there, doesnt Angie
think? Angie tells him to stop with the attitude. He
apologizes. Lorraine feels that something is
connected to that alley. That narrows the field, theres
only about 1,000 alleys in NY, none of which are very
safe. Angie knows, but Lorraines feelings about it are
so strong. Jacob says they should call the police, or
bring them to her. Maybe she can draw them a
sketch so that they can find the alley. The owner of
the restaurant comes to apologize for the slow
service. His son is not there because he is at the
hospital with his wife, who is having a baby. Hes
watching his granddaughter. He didnt know what a
handful they can be when you are alone. Angie asks
if the baby is a boy or a girl. They dont know yet, but
he thinks it is going to be a girl. He has premonitions.
Some people have them, some dont, he says.

Does Angie think Lorraine will go for the police art
idea? Its a wonderful idea, Angie says. She says
that Jacob is reasonable and rational and gets to her
on an intellectual level, but Lorraine is reaching her on
another level. Emotional, spiritual, shes not sure, but
she thinks she truly has the gift. She was right about
Nick surviving the transplant. She was right about
Nick having a child, but not Zoey. She knew it was a
boy. She was right about a lot of other things too.
What if she is right about this too? The
granddaughter runs up and Jacob talks with her for a
minute before the owner starts to apologize. They
keep talking to her. Angie asks if she has a little sister
yet? No, but she has a turtle. Ooh! Can she tell
Angie about the turtle?

Jacob had a turtle when he was her age. The owner
comes back and thanks them for looking after her. He
is a grandfather again. He was wrong. It was a boy.
So much for premonitions, he says. They leave. She
knows what Jacob was going to say: so much for
premonitions. No, actually he was going to say that
they should concentrate on children of their own.
Instead of visions and dark alleys, Angie finishes.
Maybe he is right.
