ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK... TO DETROIT?
===================================
Richard shows up at the clinic looking for Zoey, who is not there, but left
him a note thanking him, and telling him she's gone for good. Our resourceful
investigative reporter immediately starts looking for her. Music accompanies
a montage of Zoey wandering around the City, sitting on park benches, closing
her meager jacket against the cold, sadly fingering a one-way bus ticket to
Detroit (why Detroit?). Richard looks for her, mistakes another pink-haired
girl in a black smurfette cap for Zoey at a newsstand... Eventually, Richard
finds her outside of what appears to be the Grand Central bus terminal, with
her foot on the step of the bus to Detroit. He grabs her, tells her he won't
let her go, begs her not to go, and plants a big wet smacker on her...

DID THEY HAVE TO PAY DOUBLE FOR THIS SESSION?
=============================================
Jocelyn brings Ally to see her therapist, explaining to the doctor that she
is Alex's niece, and she knows the truth. Dr. Peterson asks "what truth?"
to make Jocelyn admit out loud that she's a prostitute. Various therapeutic
conversations are had. Jocelyn, at first, falls all over herself saying what
a great friend Ally is for saving her butt with Alex, and for trying to under-
stand. Ally doesn't, but the doctor points out that neither does Jocelyn...
it takes time. Ally whines about the tough spot she's in; she must either
betray Jocelyn, her best friend and roommate, or Alex, her beloved ex-uncle-
by-marriage. Jocelyn hates putting her in the middle. Then promise me you
won't do it any more, says Ally. Jocelyn points out that she could say that,
but it wouldn't mean anything. Dr. Peterson breaks up their argument, asking
Ally if she's ever been in therapy. Ally hasn't (though she probably should
be...). The doctor explains that often, these things are out of our control.
Control is very important to Jocelyn, and the realization that she is out of
control in itself is a big step. Ally is unimpressed, and asks how long this
will take, because she can't keep lying to Alex. The therapist says Jocelyn
is going to undergo hypnosis, and perhaps that will move things along faster.
Ally wonders what she's supposed to do in the meantime. Be patient, suggests
Dr. P. Ally can't keep letting Jocelyn put Alex into emotional, as well as
physical jeopardy. Jocelyn agrees, and promises to tell Alex. Apparently
Jocelyn meant RIGHT NOW, because they head back to Greene Street...

FOR A HOTSHOT COP/INVESTIGATOR, A LOT GETS BY ALEX
==================================================
Alex and Tony have been working all night "looking for answers." Molly shows
up with donuts, while Danny comes downstairs looking for coffee. Alex wants
to talk to them about the danger they're in. Danny scoffs. Alex asks if
anyone else knows about the trouble in the building; just Ally, they say.
Alex doesn't want anyone else, especially Jocelyn, to know. They agree, with
Danny saying he wants no part of it. Tony doesn't believe him, and lets slip
about Danny's "treasure hunt." Alex is mad that there are *more* secrets he
doesn't know. They tell Alex their theory that "they" must have something
valuable in the building, since they want everyone out... and Danny couldn't
resist snooping. Molly defends Danny, saying she believes in him, and she's
sick of everyone treating him like the whipping boy. Danny says she shouldn't
believe in him, because he lied. Alex wonders who would want them out, and
why? Tony's theory is Jared. Alex argues that he'd just evict them. Tony
reminds him that Sydney tried to and couldn't; it would be tied up in liti-
gation forever. Alex moves onto the question of why. Tony says it probably
isn't the property, since Jared could buy any property in the city; it must
be something valuable inside. Alex wonders why you'd hide valuables in a
building. Tony said they didn't find anything but gold leaf paint. Danny
confirms this; he went and got more and had it analyzed, and sure enough, it
was gold leaf paint. Danny gets upset; all the banks have turned him down
for a loan for the coffee bar.  Molly doesn't want him to get down on himself;
she isn't giving up on him, or the coffee bar. Danny wants to be alone, and
leaves. Molly's still mad at Tony for coming down on Danny, and leaves to go
get lunch for them (didn't she just bring breakfast?). She runs into Ally
and Jocelyn on the way out. Ally tries to get Tony to leave with her so Alex
and Jocelyn can talk. Alex wants to talk to Ally instead, and scolds her for
keeping secrets from him. Ally's sorry. Alex makes her promise there will be
no more secrets -- secrets have a way of coming back to bite you in the butt
later. Alex goes to Jocelyn, who asks to talk to him. Alex, totally missing
her agitation, asks if it's important. Joc says it can wait. They make a
dinner date. Ally and Jocelyn leave. Ally asks when she's going to tell him.
Jocelyn says tonight, at our dinner date; our last...

NICK RIVERS, MR. SENSITIVITY
============================
When we last left Nick and Sydney, she was asking him for his help. Nick asks
her what the problem is. Sydney needs Nick's help to get rid of Jared... "for
good." Nick asks if he should go out and buy a gun. Syd reminds him that
there are other ways to get rid of someone. Nick says yeah, it's called
divorce, look into it. Sydney tells him that Jared has already had the papers
drawn up, but there's a catch; they're post-dated 6 months, so he can have a
chance to win her back. Nick advises her to sit it out. Sydney wants him out
now. So get rid of him, Nick says. Sydney says it's not that easy; she doesn't
just want him gone, she wants to destroy him, and for that she needs Nick. He
doesn't get it. Sydney tells him Jared hates him, and he was shaking with fury
when he showed the video of them having sex; Jared is used to getting what he
wants, but he could never get what he saw on that tape. He wants what Nick had
with Sydney, and Sydney wants to use that to drive Jared out of his mind with
jealousy. Then what? asks Nick. Then he'll lose his objectivity, make a mis-
take, and give Syd something she can use to get rid of him. Nick asks what he
gets out of the deal. Sydney offers him the knowledge that he helped her when
she really needed it. Nick is unimpressed. Sydney pulls out "I thought you
were my friend." Nick tells her to get rid of Jared, don't play games with
him. Sydney can't. Nick clues into the fact that Jared must have something
on Syd, but still refuses to use the love they once shared to make Jared
jealous. He goes back to work on a song. Syd asks him if it's a love song.
Nick doesn't write those kind anymore; he's lost his inspiration. Sydney
doesn't think she's asking that much.  Nick says he doesn't have much to give;
why doesn't she find someone else. Syd begs him, saying she'll never ask him
for anything ever again. Nick asks again what Jared has on her. Syd says
she'd tell him if she could, but she can't. Nick says she always wants 100%
from him, but only gives 50, and he doesn't like those odds. Syd says this
isn't a game. Isn't it? Nick asks, and leaves...

DANNY ROBERTS, BOYTOY TO THE RICH AND FAMOUS?
=============================================
Sydney goes up to the bar to order a latt. They don't serve it at the City
Bar. She grumpily orders regular coffee. Danny overhears this, and commis-
erates with her about their respective bad days. Danny knows where she can
get a great latt. Sydney's not in the mood to wander around the streets
looking for a coffee bar. Danny tells her she doesn't have to. Sydney asks
if there's a coffee bar in the building now? Funny you should ask that, says
Danny. Sydney remarks that she shouldn't be surprised, since they've opened
every other kind of business in the building. Danny says he's trying to open
one in Tess' agency, but he doesn't have the money; he jokingly asks her if
she has an extra $100K. Sydney remarks that she must have left her checkbook
at home. Danny comments that he takes plastic. Sydney eyes him, and gets an
idea... she asks him to tell her more about his coffee bar idea. Danny's
psyched...

Latt-hanger...
