THURSDAY, MARCH 21, 1996 in the City, is the day of Tess' big party:

ZOEY WANTS TO KNOW WHO HER PARENTS ARE, BUT RICHARD PROBABLY DOESN'T
====================================================================
Zoey is fretting in the bar. Richard shows up with bad news; none of the Vals
turned out to be her mother. Zoey is disappointed, and laments the fact that
she never cared -- much -- who her parents were until Richard and Sister
Margaret got her hopes up; now all she can think about is finding them.
Richard promises they will. It's ironic, Richard says, you want to find
your parents, and all I can think about is getting rid of mine. Zoey consoles
him that at least they aren't his real parents. She's impressed that he kissed
off Jared and the fortune. They decide to go crash Tess' party, but then
Richard gets a message that there's another lead on Zoey's mom, and they go
to check that out instead...

HOPE SHE ISN'T PAYING A LOT FOR THESE SESSIONS...
=================================================
Jocelyn is at her therapist's office, who bugs her for not talking to her,
and for never finishing a session. Jocelyn worries about the lost earring,
and the possibility that Alex has found it and connected it to her. The
doctor asks Jocelyn what she would do if Alex does find out? Jocelyn goes
into denial mode, insisting he's never going to find out, because she'll
never do it again. The therapist is skeptical, and asks Jocelyn what makes
her think she can stop? And, what was it she was going to say last time
about her father? Jocelyn decides she can't talk about him right now, and
leaves in the middle of the session (again)...

JARED IS A NASTY, EVIL PERSON
=============================
Jared and Sydney are having a pre-party drink.  Jared toasts Sydney's health;
she throws her drink in his face. Jared gets miffed. Sydney thought he
wanted to experience her passionate side... can't he handle it? Jared wants
a more amorous form of passion. Sydney tells him she's not stupid; she's
figured out that he sent her the threatening computer messages, sabotaged the
merger, kidnapped Samuel's daughter, and had Samuel killed. Jared denies all,
but tells her that she shouldn't let her emotions get the better of her. If
she thinks he's capable of that, what can she do about it? She can't go to
the police, or he might have to confess to *everything*. Sydney can't believe
he pulls out his Richard card every time he wants her to do something. Don't
blame me, says Jared, you could always tell him the truth. Syd knows she'd
lose him, and says Jared made her give him up. No, Jared, says, I gave you
a choice -- him or me, and you chose the Chase empire. Sydney pleads youth
and stupidity, saying she thought it would be best for Richard to give him up,
and it would have been if the Wilkins hadn't died. Bottom line, says Jared, you
gave your baby away. Jared thinks he was very magnanimous in letting Syd adopt
Richard. Sydney says Jared made his life hell. Jared says Richard is nobody,
a loser. Sydney says you're a loser; for all your money, you know you'll
never be the man Nick Rivers is, and Richard reminds you of that. Jared
squeezes his glass so hard it breaks. That reminds Syd of another incident,
where her cat made Jared mad. The cat didn't live long after that, Jared
reminds her, and implies that he poisoned the cat. Syd's shocked; Jared leaves
for the party...

PARTY TIME
==========
Bernardo asks Danny for a favor. Azure interrupts them, and they tell her
she looks fab. Azure's nervous, and Bernardo gives her a pep talk. She
leaves. Bernardo gives Danny the pill, and asks if he can find out what it
is; behind a wall, Azure pops one. Danny's offended, and says he doesn't deal
any more. Bernardo just wants to know what it is. It's not speed or a downer,
Danny says, maybe your friend is just sick. That's what I'm afraid of, says
Bernardo. Danny says he'll find out, in exchange for a complete set of blue-
prints for the building. Bernardo agrees. Danny thinks this friend must be
pretty special.

Buck shows up briefly, and teases Tess about ordering champagne and caviar to
impress Jared. Tess denies it, but Buck tells her she's pretty obvious. Tess
says Jared can do her and her business some good, so spending some extra money
is all right. Buck leaves. Tess introduces Azure. Jared shows up.

On his way out, Buck tells Lorraine that, if she needs anything, Jacob is
up at the party. Lorraine decides to go on up.

Jacob and Angie are at the party; Jacob is still nagging Angie about not
sleeping well. Angie snaps at him, but then apologizes. She's tired all
the time, and doesn't know why (maybe Lorraine put a hex on her). They go
off to smooch in a corner, but then Angie's beeper goes off. She goes off
to call in. Lorraine, who has teleported up from the bar, is immediately
at Jacob's side. She asks where Angie is. Jacob tells her. Lorraine says
she'll take off when Angie gets back, because she thinks Angie is upset with
her; she can't seem to do anything right around her. (If Jacob doesn't see
through this, he's a total idiot.)

ALLY BUYS A VOWEL
=================
Ally comes to pick Tony up for the party, but he's not ready yet. He goes to
get dressed, and she snoops around looking for the earring Alex found at the
hotel. Tony catches her. Ally makes a lame excuse. Tony thinks she's acting
weird. Alex comes in, and they tease him about being stood up by the hooker.
Alex says he can't find Jocelyn (who is at her therapist's). They go to the
party; Ally is edgy the whole time. She makes an excuse to go back to Tony's
apartment, and on the way out, runs into Jocelyn, who has just arrived. Ally
grills her on where she's been; Jocelyn tells her. Alex, busy ribbing Tony
about the snake assignment, spots Jocelyn. Tony wonders what's keeping Ally.
He goes to look for her, while Jocelyn asks Alex about the call girl case.
Alex says it's all fouled up, and teases her that it's all her fault. Joc
freaks. She wants to tell Alex something... she's glad he wants her to meet
his kids.

Meanwhile, Ally is ransacking the place; she finds the earring, and matches it
to the one of Jocelyn's she found in her apartment. "Jocelyn... it's true!"
Ally says to herself. "What?" Tony says, as he comes in and busts her...

CLIFFHANGER!!!

FASHION ASIDES FROM MR. BLACKWELL
=================================
BEST DRESSED: Azure looked very nice, in a form-fitting white evening gown.
              Jacob was looking fine, in a snowy white band-collar shirt and
              jet-black jacket.

AVERAGE: Most of the men were in fairly dull suits. Jared had one of those
         striped shirts with the white collar that I personally think look
         goofy. Didn't notice what Tess was wearing.

WORST DRESSED: Cast of thousands. :-) Ally, in a tight black tank and pants,
               looked ready to hit the gym. Danny, in a fuchsia wide-collar
               open-necked shirt and dark jacket, looked like a lounge lizard,
               and his hair didn't help. Angie, sparkling in sequins, looked
               overdressed, while Lorraine was wearing the same thing she was
               wearing to work at the bar. Jocelyn had a little teeny gold
               dress on that made her hair look a really strange color. Syd,
               who never did go to the party, was wearing a decent black top,
               but her skirt looked like she mugged a zebra. And Zoey, who
               also wasn't at the party, has been wearing this dark knit cap
               for two days now, which I personally think makes her look like
               Smurfette's dark side.

Whew, that was a long one! See you next week!
