Here is the Another World update for December 19, 1995. As
usual, I apologize for any errors or omissions. Have a Merry
Christmas, everyone!

Cory Mansion: Rachel's wandering around the house in the early
morning hours has woken Maggie (who now prefers to be called
Maugarette). She asks what is wrong, is it the flu still?

Rachel tells her that she is having trouble sleeping and is
doesn't help that Carl is gone again.

Cemetery: Carl is at the Cemetery talking to Ryan. He tells him
that he almost hired a professional hitman to do away with Grant.

He vows that he will not rest until he avenges Ryan's death. In
Carl's mind, Ryan argues that Grant isn't worth it and that he
should be watching over Vicky and the boys, but Carl tells him
that is life evolves around avenging his death. Carl leaves the
cemetery.

Vic's House: Vic and Kirk are in the bathroom, steaming to help
their colds. Vic tells Kirk that the steam will help both of
them feel better. Meanwhile, Stephen opens the door to Grant.

He has called Grant because he was worried about Kirk and Vicky.

Bay City General: The nurses wheel a dead Al out of the hospital
room. Courtney comments that considering his health, it was not
surprising that he died. Morgan tells her hat now all they have
to do is figure out how he managed to unplug himself. Courtney
says there is no way he could have done it. They question who
could have done it - maybe someone on staff? Nahhh!

Vic's House: Grant enters the washroom. After finding out that
Stephen had called him, Vic tells him that Kirk has Croup and the
doctor recommended steaming him. Grant offers to take care of
Kirk while she lays down. She tells him that the boys need to
know that she can take care of them (since Ryan is gone). Grant
insists. Vic finally agrees, thanks him and leaves.

Cory Mansion: Maggie brings in some tea for Rachel. Over their
tea, Maggie spills the beans about her betrothal. Before Rachel
has time to question Maggie, Cecile enters. She wants to go over
what Maggie is planning n wearing to their brunch with Max and
his mother. First, however, she has a shift of candystriping at
the hospital. Cecile tells Rachel that this marriage is very
important to Maggie. Come on, says Rachel, this is a joke,
right, it isn't going to work. Maggie tells Cecile that she
isn't going to blow this and leaves. Cecile tells Rachel that
this is Maggie's big chance. Rachel tells her that it sounds
like she is trying to arrange a marriage for Maggie. Cecile
tells her it is a done deal - Maggie is going to marry royalty.

Rachel tells her that this is her granddaughter and she isn't
going to allow it. You really don't have any control over
Maggie, replies Cecile. They argue further about the marriage
and discuss Maggie's future. They do not agree and Rachel is
going to talk Maggie out of this. Cecile asks Rachel to support
Maggie in her quest for royalty and just for today, pretend the
Cory Mansion belongs to her. Rachel laughs.

Vic's House: Vic returns to check on Kirk. Grant questions if
this is the appropriate method of making Kirk feel better. Vic
assures him it is and they discuss childhood illnesses in
general. Grant tells her she is good at this. She tells him
that all they really need is love. Grant tells them that they
have a lot of that.

Cory Mansion: Cass and Frankie discuss Cecile and her plan.

Rachel enters and asks for their help, Frankie to look into the
Duke and Duchess and Cass to talk to Maggie.

Bay City Hospital: Maggie is bragging to her friends about her
upcoming nuptials. Overhearing the conversation, Nick enters and
questions Maggie. Maggie fills him in, they argue, and Maggie
leaves. Morgan comes in and checks out Nick's wrist (he is now a
bouncer at Sassy's and hurt his had in a fight). Morgan starts a
chart and tells him he will need x-rays. Meanwhile, Courtney is
at the front desk and Andy sneaks up behind her and kisses her.

She turns and sees it is him and smile, telling him that he
scared her. He asks who else would be kissing her and
immediately defensive, she tells him no one. They discuss why he
came and he gives her some breakfast (he noticed that she left
early this morning). She tells him about Al and he tells her
that he hopes that they are not going to try to blame her for his
death too (drawing a parallel to Ben). He tells her that
situation caused a lot of stress for both of them. Morgan, who
overheard the last comment, interrupts them. Could Courtney take
a look at this patient (meaning Nick). Telling Andy she won't be
long, she and Morgan leave. Courtney asks Morgan why he is
trying to "set off" Andy. Morgan answers that he is not trying
to set him off, he just has trouble with the guy. He made it
sound as though it was her fault he beats her. Morgan leaves her
to Nick.

Vic's House: Kirk is sleeping. Vic starts to feel dizzy and
Grant notes that she has a fever. He asks her what she would do
if it was one of the children and she tells him she would either
give them a cold bath or an alcohol rubdown. Grant does and gets
the alcohol and gives her face a sponge bath. They discuss
Christmas and Ryan. Feeling better, Vic heads for bed. She
comes back with one of Ryan's sweaters for Grant to put on (so he
doesn't get a chill himself). He declines, she leaves.

Answering the doorbell, Grant greets Carl. "What the hell are
you doing here", Carl asks, "You are trying to move back in and I
am going to put a stop to this." Grant tells him to keep his
voice down, Vicky has just gone to bed. He explains that Kirk is
sick and so is Vic. Carl is not buying any of it, he is just
trying to make himself feel better. "You are the most
opportunistic sniveling kind of creature I've ever known. You
sneak in when a woman's defenses are down, when she has no guard.

You did exactly that with Amanda, didn't you? The same with
Lorna. My God, what you and your Mother did to that poor girl.

Well, I'm on to you. And I will not allow you to abuse
Victoria." Grant denies it all, but Carl is on to him. Carl
vows to prove that Grant is the one who shot Ryan. Further, he
tells him that Ryan speaks to him from the grave. Grant is
disbelieving, but Carl tells him that both he and Ryan are
watching him. Telling Grant that he has no idea what he is
capable of, Carl leaves.

Bay City Hospital: Seems Nick has a mad sprain. Courtney wraps
it and tells him to be careful. Leaving the room to go back to
Andy, she is interrupted by a nurse telling her she is needed
elsewhere. Telling Andy she will only be a minute, she leaves
him sitting in the hall. Andy is getting noticeably angry.

Entering an examining room, Courtney finds it filled with nurses
and candystripers. They are throwing a surprise engagement
party. Opening a box, she finds slinky nightwear (We see Andy
looking in the window). Andy goes to reception and sees Morgan.

He gives Morgan a rough time about taking Courtney away from him.

Morgan explains that he needed her to see a patient and hints
that he knows that Andy beats Courtney. Andy asks Morgan what,
in his professional opinion, is a good remedy for a broken jaw?

Depends on how bad it is, Morgan tells him. Morgan accuses him
of checking up on him. Andy tells him that he doesn't need to
and starts to leave. Morgan tells him that unlike him, he has
nothing to hide. Andy storms back, asking Morgan what he meant.

Nothing, he says and leaves. He runs into Cass. Cass has come
to invite him to Christmas with Frankie, Charlie and himself.

Morgan declines. But it is the holidays and he wants to make up
with him, Cass tells him. Morgan points out that things are not
better for John, so no. He leaves. Next, Cass finds Maggie. He
tells her that he talked to Rachel earlier and that she wanted
him to talk to her. He talks to her, trying to talk her out of
her marriage. He tells her not to give up on love. Seeing Nick,
Maggie replies that she has already tried love, and besides, she
promised. Cass points out that she hasn't signed anything or
married him yet. She tells him that her Mother will kill her. I
will handle your Mother, believe me, it won't be the first time,
Cass tells her. Putting his arm around her, they leave.

Harbor Club: Frankie is on the phone, asking for a background
check on the Duke and Duchess. After finishing her call, she is
greeted by Cecile, who tells her that she had better not plan on
crashing her dinner party. Cecile tells her that she would like
her to stay away from her. The way you stayed away from my
husband, questions Frankie. Cecile tells her that she should
spend less time worrying about her and more time keeping the home
fires burning, or she will find herself less one husband. Cecile
leaves.

Vic's House: Felling better she thanks Grant for all his help.

They talk about parenting alone, Ryan and how Grant feels when
they are together. Vic balks at the last one and he tells her
that he didn't men it like it sounded. They talk about Ryan some
more.

Cory Mansion: Carl is on the phone asking for some information.

Telling them that price is no object, he hangs up. Humming, he
goes over to the tree. "Yes, to give is so much better than to
receive. And this gift, Grant Harrison, is one I trust you will
never forget."

Harbor Club: Cecile is sitting with the Grand-duchess
apologizing because Maggie is late. She arrives with Cass.

Before Maggie can tell Cecile she has changed her mind, Cecile
introduces her to Max, who in Maggie's opinion is a BABE! Behind
the scenes, Frankie has a call from Fred regarding the
information she asked for. Laughing, she hangs up and calls Cass
over.

Vic's House: Grant tells her that Carl was to visit but that he
doesn't really want to tell her what they talked about. He
explains that Carl thinks that he is taking advantage of Ryan's
death by insinuating himself in her life. Vic says it is
ridiculous. He tells her that Carl made it seem like Ryan was
talking to him from the dead and that Ryan's death has driven him
over the edge.

Cory Mansion: Carl greets Rachel. She tells him she is feeling
better and asks him where he was last night. He avoids
answering. Taking her into the living room, he shows her the
present he has for Stephen and Kirk for Christmas. It is a model
of the train track and trestle. Rachel flashes back to the night
Ryan died. She sees images. We see Rachel and Carl standing in
the Living Room . . .Freeze Frame
