Hi gang!! Today's show was really good!!! Here's what happened:

Rachel demands to know if Carl was responsible for the accident that
has left Amanda paralysed. Carl responds that he is completely
resposible. Rachel asks him how many times she has to forgive him.
She tells him that he hasn't changed. He grabs her and tells her that
for the past year he has loved Rachel and her family. He tries to
tell her that it was an accident, that he just "wished" Evan was dead.
Rachel notes that this is the difference between him and her - she
could never act on such thoughts, unlike Carl. She tells him to pack
his things and leave. He tells her that he is already packed and that
he has planned to tell her the truth today. He asks what they can do
to repair their relationship. Rachel can't believe that Carl sat
there in the hospital, watching what Amanda and everyone went through,
yet kept his silence, despite Rachel's pleas that he tell Ryan, the
police, the family if he was responsible. As he's leaving, he asks
Rachel to tell Maggie that he's sorry he won't be around, and that she
was wrong - wrong for thinking that if Carl told the truth, Rachel's
"complete love" for him would allow her to forgive him. Rachel
responds by telling him that Maggie *was* wrong.

Evan sneaks into Amanda's room. Before long, Grant comes up and tells
Amanda she missed a pill. Grant goes into the bathroom to get Amanda
some water - Evan his hiding behind the door. Grant sees him there
but makes no mention of this to Amanda. Grant tells her that she will
have around the clock nursing care commencing tomorrow, but Amanda
tells him that she doesn't want it. Grant tells her that he will do
anything to help her, and then he leaves. When Evan comes out, Amanda
pleads that he go before Grant comes back.

Downstairs, Spencer comes in and has some competitor's best selling
book for Amanda. Grant tells him that Evan is with her. Spencer
freaks and asks Grant why he isn't up there kicking Evan out of the
house. Spencer walks over to the desk and sees a gun in the drawer.
Spencer hopes that Grant isn't going to do something foolish. Grant
asks Spencer why he isn't allowed to hate Evan. Spencer tells Grant
that it sounds more like he hates his wife - to which Grant responds
that everything he has done has been politically correct. He notes
that before, Amanda and Evan were sneaking around under his nose, and
now they are doing it under his roof. When Kirk cries, Grant tells
Spencer that having Kirk is enough. Spencer warns Grant of using Kirk
as the centre of his world.

Evan apologizes to Amanda and repeats the story about him fixing his
car days before the accident. Amanda tells him how dependent she
feels, where before she was very independent. Evan asks her to call
him if she needs anything, telling her that his plans to leave town
have changed. Grant hears Evan sneak out, and tells Kirk that the
noise is the "sound of my wife's lover sneaking away". Grant is
hoping that Evan seeing Amanda's condition will make him rethink a
long-term relationship with her.

Over at Ryan's, he tells Vicki that she is only there b/c he needs
help. She tells him that it didn't work trying to seduce him, and
that she won't make that mistake again. The kids won't eat the
sandwiches that Ryan has, so Vicki orders pizza. Ryan was also
dodging their questions about Uncle Billy, but Vicki explains that he
will be ok, and that their mother is over there to keep him company.
Vicki manages to get them to settle down for a nap. Ryan applauds her
parenting skills. He asks about her adopting Mark, and Vic tells him
that he spoke to Paulina, and that Paulina has agreed to let her adopt
the baby. Ryan hopes she isn't using Mark to fill a void that Kirk
may have left. Ryan asks how she knew that he was babysitting, and
she tells him that she ran when she heard that a cop got shot. He
asks her why she didn't come when that article was in the paper about
him risking his life to save Jake and Paulina. Vicki tells him that
she knew it was a ploy of Grant's to try to flush her out of hiding.
She continues that it was then that she knew she could stand up for
Grant, and that she had to come home - home to Ryan. When Vicki goes
to leave, Ryan asks her not to.

That's a wrap for this Thursday!! All you HBL fans that missed this
episode, I'm sure Ryan will have his shirt off many more times this
winter (pant, pant, pant)!!
