Here's the doings in Bay City for 11/26/96.....

CARL/RACHEL

Rachel is furious with Carl over what happened at the train depot. Steven
was almost killed, and Carl almost landed himself in jail for murdering Grant!
Carl tries to explain how Grant provoked him, and how he was set up, but Rachel
is hearing none of it -- Carl has done plenty to keep his side of the vendetta
going, she says. Rachel says that she can no longer live with Carl if he
doesn't drop his vendetta against Grant -- when she married Carl, it was her
understanding that he was a man who had put violence behind him, and that is
no longer the case. Carl tries to defend his point of view, but Rachel tells
him he must move out, there is no other way. Carl is shocked. Rachel is
adamant. Carl packs and comes downstairs. They look at each other, bereft,
but Rachel won't relent. On the front porch, just before he walks out, Carl
tells her "You have been the joy of my life, and I love you." Rachel replies
glumly "Yeah, I love you too", and closes the door in his face...

MATT/NICK

Summoned by Matt, Nick shows up at the studio. Matt informs him that he and
Jake have switched jobs -- now Matt is the editor, Jake the publisher -- and
hands Nick his personnel file. Matt says Nick is late with his projects and
doesn't hand them in half the time, but Nick knows the real reason Matt wants
to fire him is Sofia...

CASS/FELICIA

Cass and Felicia come into Carlino's after having seen a French film. Cass
is goofing off and talking bad French, but Felicia is feeling sorry for
herself -- she hasn't talked to John all day. Cass suggests that she go
and visit John at the farm, since it's late and probably past Gregory's
bedtime...

JOHN/GREGORY/FELICIA/NICK

At the farm, Gregory shows John a model plane he built. Gregory says it's
weird being at the farm, he misses his bedroom at home, but most of all he
misses his mother. John tries to reassure him by saying that Sharlene is
getting the best care, and of course John is one of her doctors too, he'll
look out for her. Gregory says he wishes John could take care of Sharlene
all the time, like he used to. John looks uncomfortable, and eventually
sends Greg off to bed. Felicia arrives, laden with food packages. The
Gruesome Twosome find their way to the couch and start kissing, whereupon
Gregory walks back in. "What are *you* doing back here?" he asks Felicia.
John remonstrates with him for his rudeness. Gregory is eventually sent
back to bed, but not before he gets in a parting shot about how he thought
the whole reason for moving out to the farm was because *she* wasn't there.
Felicia looks the worse for wear after this, and while John is out of the room
she gets up to leave. Nick strolls in and homes in on the free food. Felicia
says help yourself and hightails it out of there. John comes back in and
finds her gone...

GRANT/RYAN'S GHOST

Grant is having a high old time gloating about the destruction he is bringing
down on Carl. Why, he bets that right this minute Rachel is reading Carl the
riot act. Unseen, Ryan's Ghost sits next to Grant and vows to discover what
he's up to. RG gets so angry that a tree falls on Grant's car. Grant is
startled out of his wits, but quickly regains his composure and goes back
to gloating...

VICKY/BOBBY/JAKE

Vicky is thanking Bobby yet again for saving Steven's life -- it must be fate
that brought him into their lives, she says. Impulsively, she throws her arms
around him and hugs him. Jake walks up and sees them, and is not happy.
Later, Jake and Bobby are both sitting on Vicky's couch reading the paper
when she makes a remark about how late it is, and shoos them both home.

RACHEL/GRANT/RYAN'S GHOST

Rachel is sitting having a drink and looking very despondent when the doorbell
rings. She brightens up, obviously thinking it's Carl come back, and rushes
to answer the door with the drink still in her hand. Ryan's Ghost hangs around
and watches while she opens the door to find Grant there. Grant proffers
phony condolences, and when she points out that Steven was almost killed
because of the scuffle between Carl and Grant, Grant says he is so sorry, and
how is the dear child doing? Rachel throws her drink in Grant's face, to the
delight of Ryan's Ghost, who cheers her on. Grant finally gets the message
and leaves. Rachel continues to fume.

NICK/JOHN/FELICIA

John expresses his disappointment that Felicia left, and says that Gregory is
not coping well with all these adjustments. Nick takes the opportunity to
offer his help, doing the "family thing." John is skeptical, but Nick says
that he has a new outlook on things. John says he'll keep him in mind.
Later, John calls Felicia just as she is letting herself into her apartment,
looking very sorry for herself. John apologizes for Gregory, and promises
that when all this is over, he'll come back home.

VICKY/STEVEN

Vicky is holding Steven as he drifts off to sleep, saying how she doesn't ever
want to let him go. Steven wakes up and tells his mother how "cool" tonight
was. She says she doesn't know if that's exactly the word she'd use to
describe it...

JAKE

Jake has a bad dream in which he goes with an armload of flowers to Vicky's
to take her out, and she comes out on her front porch dressed in an elegant
gown. She tells Jake, with happiness in her eyes, that she's finally sure,
she's made her decision....she and the boys have a wonderful future with
Bobby. Bobby materializes at her elbow, wearing a white suit coat and looking
quite spiffy. Vicky takes his arm and they move off, but not before Vicky
turns to toss back at Jake the flowers he got for her....Jake wakes up yelling
and panicked.

RACHEL/MATT

Matt walks in the front door just as Grant makes his exit. Rachel is still
angry. Matt asks what is wrong, and finally she tells him that he was
right about Carl, he hasn't changed, he refuses to give up the feud with Grant
and so she sent him packing. Matt says that Rachel's faith in a person's
goodness would be enough to change most people for the better, implying that
Carl is beyond even that...

CARL/RYAN'S GHOST/GRANT

Carl is sitting by himself on the docks, somberly reading aloud from a book
of poetry. Ryan's Ghost sits next to him and sadly watches his father grieve
the apparent loss of his marriage. Nearby, Grant eavesdrops and exults in
how well his plans are going. He stays in contact by cell phone with some
sort of accomplice, but he doesn't mention any names or places aloud, so RG
is unable to discover what is going on. Grant sneers to himself how pathetic
Carl is, but Ryan's Ghost declares to his brother "You are a desperate, evil
little man", and vows to undermine his scheme, whatever it may be. Meanwhile,
Carl looks up, as if sensing a presence......FREEZE FRAME.
