Sorry that this is a whole week late. I won't bore you with all the
details of why I was so busy that I couldn't do it, suffice it to say this
is the soonest I could get it done --

Sharlene and Felicia tell Josie at the police station that John stormed
out of the farm because he was so upset about Sharlene wanting to sell the
farm. Sharlene thinks that something else, something she doesn't know
about, is bothering him as well. Josie promises to look for him. Felicia
comforts Sharlene, who goes back to the farm, while Felicia stays at the
station. Felicia talks to Gabe and says that with Rita Madison running
the hospital, she's not surprised there's a mad bomber who wants to wreck
it. Now this grabs Gabe's attention. Felicia explains that John was
suspended and practically fired by the hospital after he risked his life
savings to defend it. Now that would make me mad, says Gabe. Do you
think John would do anything desperate? Well, yes, I think he might, says
Miss Brain Surgeon.

In the meantime, John is on the dock, doing his angry man thing. He runs
into Jenner, his old Nam buddy, who lives on the dock. Jenner has a plate
in his head and spent more than six years in VA hospitals. Jenner
mentions that he doesn't like doctors or hospitals. He asks John why he's
not home for the holidays. John says he's not thankful for anything and
he doesn't want to pretend to be. He also doesn't want any help from his
wife or brother. They muse over being the "lucky ones" from their platoon
in Nam. John cries. Jenner gives him booze. They get drunk and a cop
harasses them. Pretty soon, Jenner is throwing punches. John tires to
break it up and the cop pulls a gun.

Courtney knocks on Morgan's door. Her face is bruised. She admits that
Andrew did it to her, and apologizes for having lied to Morgan about
Andrew. She tells him that he threatened her life, but still defends
Andrew, saying that he's not always violent and he's basically a good
person. Why on earth don't you leave him, Morgan wants to know. I am,
she insists. I just always thought he was perfect for me when he wasn't
beating me senseless. She says the first time he hit her was because she
wore a short skirt, but he apologized so profusely that she forgave him.

Every time he's gotten violent has been worse than the last. She insists
she doesn't want to go to the police and get him in trouble; he loves
her. Morgan says he couldn't love her and beat her up at the same time.

She says she thinks the battered wife from the ER went back to her
husband. Morgan makes her promise she won't do the same, and tells her
she can stay with him as long as she likes. He also makes her promise to
press charges and get a protection order so that he can't just get a
replacement punching bag. She just wants to make sure no one at the
hospital finds out.

At the convent, Grant tells Justine she will spend the rest of her life
with the nuns. Justine doesn't take kindly to this development. She begs
him to take her to Bay City. He doesn't want to be near her; she made him
kill Ryan. Won't I ever see Kirkland again, she pleads. No. What about
you, Grant. Well, maybe, Mom. She strokes his face with her hook.
(There's a sentence I never thought I would type :) ) You're Spencer's
son, she screams. You're abandoning me too. Grant tells the nuns to keep
quiet about Justine, as she has many enemies. The nun promises her
discretion. Meanwhile, Vicky is waiting for a ferry to the convent, and
talking to Ryan and an old woman who tells her that one day she may love
again. The nun tells Justine that she will find peace at the convent.

Justine asks to see her "doctor." She tells him that Grant has abandoned
her, but that's no reason not to go ahead with her destructive plan.

Vicky arrives and tells the nun that she's looking for a dangerous woman
who was recently run over by a train (another sentence I never thought I'd
type). They exchange glances, so Vicky screams, "She's alive!!!) Vicky
pushes past the nuns into the room and the freeze frame is the shocked
look on her face.
