Subject: Friday Update
Status: R

Vicki if this is Brief I would hate to see full-blown:-D thanks

I know we said no updates over the holidays, but this is
just a brief one to get us up-to-speed...

Here is the (abbreviated) update for Another World for
Friday, November 25, 1994:

Josie/Ian

Ian and Josie are at her place, icing cupcakes to take out
to the Hudson farm for the Thanksgiving feast. He tries to
get into the spirit, but she can tell he'd rather not go,
too many people for him. She has a better idea, why don't I
call and tell John we can't make it, then we can spend the
day here alone together. She tells him she's grateful he
stood by her, even when she was buying into Evan's lies
about him, and says she doesn't want to waste any more time.
They mess around on the couch for a while, then he carries
her to the bed. They get pretty worked up, then he stops
and asks her if she's sure it's what she wants. She says
yes, they've waited for this a long time. "Josie - I love
you," he says. They make love, then she tells him "I love
you, too - Happy Thanksgiving!"

Brett/Morgan

Brett and Morgan are getting ready to join the Hudson
gathering, when Brett gets a phone call. She tells Morgan
it's a job offer from a big architectural firm in Chicago,
it's too good to pass up considering she's unemployed, but
it's too far to commute, so she'll have to move to Chicago.
Morgan is crushed, then he says he's coming with her,
there's not really anything for him here [translation: he
got his nose bent out of joint at work, and he could care
less about Cass/Frankie/Charlie?].

Angela/Connie/Sharlene/John/Gregory/Cass/Frankie/Charlie/Tom
'as/Luisa
(Later, Brett/Morgan)

Connie Corelli (Angela's mom) shows up at the Hudson farm
with food, Sharlene had invited her. Angela cuts her off in
the kitchen and tries to get rid of her before anyone sees
her, but Connie wants to see her granddaughter Luisa first.
Sharlene catches them, and welcomes Connie to stay. Angela
is not pleased, and sulks the rest of the day [although it's
hard to tell, pretty normal for her] - it's a good excuse
not to do any actual work (like she needs one). Connie
thanks Sharlene for helping to raise Luisa, but Sharlene
gives the credit to Tom'as. Sharlene takes Angela aside and
tells her not to be nasty to her mother, don't spoil the
holiday for everyone. Angela complains about what a
terrible mother Connie was, but Sharlene considers the
source and takes it with a grain of salt. Then Angela takes
Connie aside and warns her not to blow the whistle about
Angela marrying Tom'as so she can get her inheritance, or
she swears she'll never speak to her again. Connie misses a
great opportunity here, but agrees to keep mum about
Angela's secret - although she says she wouldn't be
surprised if Sharlene figured it out anyway, she's already
onto you. Later, the group is sitting around the living
room eating, when Tom'as arrives with Luisa. Connie is very
excited to see her, but Tom'as takes her aside and tells her
Luisa still thinks he's her big brother [God knows WHO she
thinks ANGELA is...], we don't want to tell her the truth
until we officially get custody, so be careful what you say
around her. Connie is impressed with his sense of
responsibility and dedication. She apologizes to him for
misjudging him and giving him the boot back when Angela got
pregnant, she can see he's a good father and a good person.

After dinner (Cass is sacked out on the couch while all the
kids are running around having a blast), John calls Vicky to
invite her to join the group. Vicky tells him she can't
make it, but thanks [see below]. Then John wonders what
happened to Morgan and Brett (maybe they decided to stay
"home" like Josie & Ian, Sharlene suggests), and he hints to
Cass and Frankie that Morgan may not want to face him; Cass
asks if Morgan is having problems at work, but John won't
elaborate. Cass tells Frankie that he's decided to cut back
on work and spend more time at home [wonder if Frankie can
support them if he decides to be a full-time househusband?].
Brett and Morgan arrive, and break the news that they're
leaving Bay City. John takes Morgan aside and asks if he's
leaving because of the hospital politics. Morgan claims no,
he just wants to be with Brett, but finally admits he
intends to get a job at a hospital where he can practice
medicine and not be looking over his shoulder all the time.
John predicts he'll find the same politics anywhere he goes.
Then Cass takes Morgan aside and tells him he's disappointed
and sad to see him go, he didn't have enough time to be the
kind of big brother he wanted to be for him, it won't be the
same with him so far away. He also asks if it's something
at the hospital that's driving him to leave, but Morgan
continues to insist he just wants to be with Brett.

Tom'as sees Connie getting attached to Luisa, and figures
it's time to take her home. Luisa gives Connie a goodbye
hug; seeing this, Angela (who has still been sulking) makes
a beeline for Luisa to pretend to be maternal. Later,
Connie arranges for her and Angela to do the dishes (Angela
refuses to even dry a dish - she says she already
contributed, she made the potatoes...No wonder they were so
salty, Connie replies) so they can be alone to talk. Connie
tells Angela she should hang on to Tom'as, he's a mature,
responsible guy, you made a sacred vow at your wedding, give
your marriage a chance. She also rags on her about not
helping out, and for ignoring her daughter until she was
ready to leave.  She tells Angela to tell Tom'as the truth;
as luck would have it, Tom'as enters in time to hear the
last comment, and asks Angela what she's keeping from him
this time.

Jake/Paulina

Jake tells Paulina everything, about his part in Vicky's
baby switch. Paulina is angry that Jake has been lying to
her from the day they got married; but she's also hurt that
his friendship for Vicky seems more important than their
marriage. He apologizes, says he knows he was wrong, and
begs her to hang in there with him. She's not sure she can,
and starts to walk out, but he stops her and throws himself
on her mercy. She asks why he didn't trust her, why he lets
Vicky pull his strings, but he has no good answer. She says
she mostly feels sorry for "Mark" - he doesn't know his
father, and his mother's on her way to jail. She's not yet
ready to listen to Jake's contrition; she grabs her coat,
saying she needs to talk to someone and it's not him, and
exits. Later, Jake sits in front of the fire, looking at
his wedding picture, waiting for Paulina to come back, and
vowing he won't let her leave him.

Vicky/Bridget/Steven/Paulina

Vicky is about to grab Kirk and leave town before Paulina
spills the beans to Grant; but Bridget stops her by showing
up with Steven.  He says he wants to see his baby brother;
Mark/Kirk is asleep in the other room, but Vicky doesn't
want him to get confused or have to lie so she tells him
"Kirk" is staying with Grant. Steven asks about Ryan, which
is a sore point with Vicky right now. She writes down
Donna's number and sends Steven to the other room to call
Grandma, she'll be so glad to hear from you [this seemed a
little strange to me...but Vicky always did have her own way
of doing things]. Vicky tells Bridget she's lost control of
the situation, Jake blew the whistle to Paulina. She wants
to skip town with Kirk (and Steven?) so she won't lose him
and wind up in jail. Bridget asks if she might not lose
more if she leaves - like Ryan, or like what happens when
Grant tracks her down, or if she doesn't want to risk
leaving a trail she can never call Bridget or Donna again,
etc. She begs Vicky not to run again, she'd really miss
her; in tears, Vicky asks Bridget to tell her what she
should do. Eventually, Vicky decides not to leave. Bridget
goes to check on the kids (and keep Steven from seeing
Kirk), and the doorbell rings. Vicky answers it - when she
sees it's Paulina, she tries to close the door in her face
but Paulina pushes her way in. Paulina: "You give me one
good reason why I shouldn't blow this disgusting scheme of
yours sky high, Vicky!" They stand glaring at each other,
nose-to-nose. FREEZE FRAME.

Yours truly,

Vicky (vkorosei@midas.sinclair.edu)
