Subject: Oct. 31 Update

>If you missed today's show, you missed a good one, especially if you are a
Vicky/Jake fan. Here's the highlights [comments mine]:
>
>MAKIN' WHOOPEE
>The header says it all. Jake and Vicky, despite many protestations about
"waiting" 'til they are married, end up making love. The scenes were great
and words don't do them justice. Lots of slow motion and cuts from candle
flames to the bed, use of mirrors (no, not that way, you sick persons ;)
etc. If you missed it, I mourn for you.

>SHE FINALLY COMES CLEAN....
>Shane drags Paulina into Carlino's and gets her to drink some coffee
because she is pretty blotto from all the champagne she guzzled at Vicky and
Jake's engagement party. [Is it just me or shouldn't someone have noticed
Paulina was going way overboard with the booze long before they did? I
mean, here is a woman who is getting over substance abuse, and no one minds
that she is guzzling down alcohol as fast as she can? Hmmm..] Shane asks
Paulina if she is miserable, and she says she is troubled about the woman
who ODed on drugs. She tells Shane about little Rain. [Hey, that rhymed,
and I didn't even intend it that way!] Shane tries to convince Paulina to
tell the police who supplied her with her amphetamines, but Paulina doesn't
want to talk about it. Just then, Joe comes in. His plane arrived early,
and he was just coming by to check the restaurant before going over to
Rachel's to see Paulina and Dante. Shane leaves, and Joe says he talked to
Josie and knows about Rain's mother and tries to broach the subject of
Paulina's supplier with her. Paulina tries to distract Joe with details of
Vicky and Jake's engagement party, but it doesn't work. Joe names Cindy as
a possible supplier, and Paulina asks Joe what would happen to Cindy if she
were the supplier. Joe says if Cindy stole them from the hospital, she
could do jail time, but if Cindy identified the pusher, she might bet
immunity. What if someone gave the pills to Cindy to give to me, Paulina
asks. When Joe asks who that is, Paulina tells him to think who could do
such a thing. Grant, Joe exclaims.
>
>PRACTICING A LITTLE SELF-DIAGNOSIS, WONDER DOC?
>Shane draws some of his own blood into a vial and puts some of it on a
slide. He looks at it under the microscope and says that is what I was
afraid of. [Hello, what the freak is this?]
>
>WOULD THE REAL BOOBA PLEASE LIGHT UP, OR YET ANOTHER NEAR SCORE FOR
CASSANOVA...
>Cindy realizes, when she can't tempt Grant, that she must have the fake
Booba. She looks up in the book information about finding lost totems. The
book tells her to hold spirits (booze) in her left hand and turn in a circle
hoping on one foot three times. Then put the bottle on the floor and it
will point to the location of the totem. Cindy does this, and when she
looks on the floor, the bottle is pointing to an old copy of a tabloid.
Cindy picks it up and reads it. It's the issue with the headline "RUSTY'S
LUSTY BOSS" and the picture of Rusty kissing Donna. Realizing Donna has the
real Booba, Cindy dresses up like a black cat [take the outfit she wore last
week, add fake nails, whiskers, ears, tail and a spiked collar, and you have
the basic picture] and heads for the Harbor Club, where Donna and Cass are
dancing and kissing. Cass says he cant stand it any longer and invites
Donna to his place. Cass goes to get the car while Donna locks up the
kitchen. Cindy sneaks in and grabs the real Booba. Donna catches her with
both totems in her hands. After a brief argument over who deserves the
totem, Donna demands the real one. Cindy tells her the real one is her left
hand, so Donna, not trusting Cindy to be truthful, takes the one from her
right hand. Cindy leaves snickering. The one in her left hand was the real
one. Sucker! She purrs and tells Booba it is time to go home. Later, back
at Grant and Cindy's, Cindy puts on a nice nighty and hides Booba under her
pillow. When she hears Grant, she pretends to be asleep. Grant storms in,
terribly upset [he had a meeting with Alex telling him that if he was
responsible for Rachel's disappearance, he would most certainly pay for it],
but when he sees Cindy, he falls under the Booba spell and cuddles up with
her. He tells her he loves her unconditionally, that she has opened up a
side of him he didn't know existed. She thanks him [thank Booba, sweetie],
but she tells him she is scared about Paulina blabbing about them being the
source of the drugs. Grant tells her he doesn't care, power isn't important
to him, only Cindy. [Damn, that Booba is pretty powerful then!]

>OH WHERE OH WHERE HAS MY LITTLE WIFE GONE? OH WHERE OR WHERE CAN SHE BE???
>Carl returns from the wild goose chase in Chicago to find an extremely
rusty dagger stuck in his door. Attached to the dagger is a weird mask
(looked like a skull, I think) and a note reading "A life for a life; A love
for a love." [Gee, wonder who that could be? Duh, trying being a little
less subtle next time, Alex, we'd never know it was you..NOT!!!] Carl asks
Amanda if Rachel is at home, but she says her mother is out. He then shows
Amanda the dagger and mask. She tries to tell Carl not to worry; it's just
a kid's prank, but then Carl shows her the note, and they both become
worried. Amanda tries to make some calls, but Carl is sure Alex is behind
Rachel's mysterious disappearance. He asks Amanda to help him, and she
agrees. Later, at the hospital, Amanda comes to bring flowers to Felicia
and tells Alex that Rachel was with her at the Harbor Club as Carl listens.
[I think he put a bug on Amanda, cause he kept putting his finger to his ear
like he had one of those thingys in his ear.] Alex panics slightly, and
seeing this, Amanda blows up at him and demands to know where her mother is.
Alex tries to make it sound like Carl has done something to Rachel in part
of his master plan to take over Cory. Amanda tells Alex she doesn't believe
Carl is evil anymore, that he loves Rachel. Later, Carl grabs Alex by the
tie and holds him up practically choking him while he demands to know where
Rachel is. When Alex denies knowing anything, Carl begins toying with the
rusty dagger in the vicinity of Alex's rib cage. [I hope your tetanus shots
are up to date, Alex, cause if you get stuck with that thing, you're gonna
need it!] Carl then asks after Zoe, Alex's daughter, and Alex panics. Carl
informs Alex that his lovely daughter is safe, but she is with one of Carl's
men. Alex swears he didn't hurt Rachel and that he will put his security
people on the task of finding her. [These must be the same people that he
had following her in the first place. Mutli-talented sort of folks I guess:
the Harass and Recover division.] Carl lets Alex go, but not before he
tells Alex that they are at war and everyone is a target. While all of this
is going on, Rachel is still trapped in the crypt. [Am I the only one who
is getting wicked nasty deja vu from when Justine put Vicky behind that
brick wall??? Will the violence against women ever end in Bay City? It's
getting ugly!!] Rachel hears two kids (looking for a private place to make
out I guess) and makes some noise. The kids see something in the crypt
[cause Alex didn't cover the crypt all the way: I guess he wanted Rachel to
be able to breathe...how nice of him], freak, and run away. Rachel looks
down and sees what frightened them: a skeletal hand. She shakes with fear.
[Well what did she expect would be in a crypt? A bed of roses?] She
notices, however, that the skeletal hand holds a long dagger [much longer
and a lot less rusty than the one Carl was waving around. I guess the crypt
helped keep it from rusting. Lack of oxygen or something]. Rachel cuts
through her bonds and waits. Later, after his confrontation with Carl, Alex
returns to the crypt to give Rachel some food [again, being the civilized
kidnapper that he is]. When he opens the crypt, Rachel grabs his tie and
yanks on it, bashing Alex's head into the side of the crypt. She climbs out
and tries to run away, but Alex grabs her ankle.
