Here is the Another World Update for Tuesday, October 24, 1995.

It began as a brief summary, but so much happened today, I felt I
had to take the time to do it justice. AU, I apologize for any
errors or omissions.

Paulina/Joe

After Paulina's commercial, they kiss and Joe asks Paulina if
this is for real. Paulina assures him that it is. She explains
that she saw Jake and Allison together and that it was then that
she made up her mind. Paulina sees him as honest which is
something she has been looking for all of her life. Joe forgives
her for making him wait. They promise to loves each other
forever. They head off to Joe's for a little afternoon delight.

At Joe's, he asks if she really wants to do this, after all,
before she wanted to wait until they were married. Paulina
doesn't want to wait anymore, she is sure it is the right thing
to do. It feels right, they both know it. However, if Joe wants
to, they can wait, what ever he wants. Joe does not want to wait
either.

We are treated to the lovemaking session of Joe and Paulina. [In
my opinion, well done but did nothing for me.]

Gregory/Courtney (Frame Farm)

Greg is choking on a candy when Courtney saves him with the
Heimlech(sp?) Maneuver. Morgan enters as she has gotten the
candy out. They check him over and John and Charlene enter.

They explain what happened, John checks over Gregory for himself
and Charlene thanks Courtney for saving her son's life.

Turns out that Greg is fine and it is time for him to head to
bed. John praises Courtney on her quick action and assures her
that he thinks that she is an excellent doctor. Courtney feels
much better about being a doctor and thinks that she will make it
through the law suit now. Morgan and Courtney leave. Morgan
questions Courtney as to which is her favorite constellation.

She says that she likes them all and draws parallels between them
and medicine. Kinda like magic, isn't it. They leave, but they
have no intention on gong home.

Lorna and Felicia at Sassy's

Lorna questions Felicia about her new book. She is still working
on the outline. She feels much better now that she has a new
project to keep herself occupied. Cass and Laurie enter Sassys
(Lorna doesn't look too pleased to see them). Cass has some news
for Laurie. The hospital wants to settle, but Laurie says that
she is not going to settle or let the hospital get away with
"this". Laurie asks Cass if it is money thing, after all she
only paid him a dollar to get him to represent her. he denies
it. She says then maybe it is a family thing. Cass denies it
and tells her that he is on her side, she has to believe it.

Cass tells her that most cases end up in a settlement before it
ever goes to court. Does she want to relive her son's death?

Laurie wants the doctors to suffer like she is. Cass tells her
that it sounds like she wants revenge, the hurt that she suffered
when Ben died will be with her always, but does she really want
everyone to suffer along with her? She tells Cass that she
cannot let it go, she is fighting for justice for her little boy.

Meanwhile, back at the Frame farm . . .

John and Charlene spend a quiet moment thanking the lord for
still having Greg. They talk about the what if's and Charlene
admits to feeling angry at Courtney for the lawsuit and
everything else. Now she has changed her tune and is grateful to
Courtney. John tells her she is right, there is something he has
to do. He gets his coat and leaves.

Morgan and Courtney have arrived at Morgan's apartment. Morgan
had invited her back to his place to play a board game. Courtney
asks Morgan if he would mind if she turned on the TV, as she
admits to being a news junkie. They turn on the TV to see John
at KBAY.

Meanwhile, Charlene is sitting at home. She throws out the candy
that Greg chocked on and turns on the TV

Also meanwhile, the TV is turned on at Sassy's and is being
watched by Felicia, Lorna, Cass and Laurie.

Matt is the interviewer with John. Matt: Dr. Hudson, I assume
that you wish to begin by stating that the hospital and
physicians present were in no way responsible for Ben Michael's
death. No, says John, No, I don't. We see shocked looks on
Felicia's, Lorna's and Charlene's faces.

John goes on to tell what happened at his house tonight. He goes
on to tell everyone that Morgan and Courtney are two of the
finest doctors he knows. He expresses his sorrow to Laurie, but
now he understands how meaningless his words are. (Laurie,
Felicia, and Lorna are all crying at this point) He further
states that Laurie's actions in suing the hospital are
understandable now, he is no longer angry. He goes on to take
full responsibility for Ben Michael's death. He is prepared to
give Mrs. Michael's everything that he has.

Courtney asks, what just happened. Morgan replies that John just
saved their careers. What about him, questions Courtney. He
isn't thinking about himself, replies Morgan. Courtney turns and
begins to cry on Morgan's shoulder.

All I can say is that he is a damn fool, says Lorna. No, he has
the guts to do the right thing, replies Felicia. He's going to
go broke, says Lorna. Felicia leaves.

I had no idea he was going to do this, Cass tells Laurie. I want
you to settle the law suit, for us.

John arrives home to Charlene. They embrace. Felicia arrives
and sees them through the door. She turns and leaves.

Grant/Carl

Carl is choking Grant and taunting him, asking him if he is
scared and whether he had any of these thoughts when he shot
Ryan. In the struggle, they make their way to the door and Grant
manages to get the security lock off the door. Victoria arrives
and hearing the sounds of a struggle, enters to see Carl
strangling Grant and Grant gasping for breath.

Vicky tries to pry Carl off of Grant. She finally goes and gets
a vase and knocks him over the head with it, knocking him
unconscious. "My God, I've killed him" says Vic. Grant has
recovered enough to get up, and is upset that Carl tried to kill
him. Vic is asking what the problem is. She is going to call
the police, but Grant begs her not to, telling her that he
doesn't want to see his name in the paper again. Vic tells him
that she stopped trying to save "his blue butt" two marriages
ago. He counters with the fact that if she calls the police, she
drags everyone's name through the mud, including Ryan's. She
tells Grant to go and get a cold compress. Meanwhile, she goes
to the phone and calls Rachel and asks her to come over to the
suite.

They discuss the attack and Vicky questions Grant as to why
Ryan's father was trying to kill him. He tells her that he
doesn't know. Carl is starting to wake up and says that you, you
are responsible. Vicky looks shocked and checks Grant for a
reaction. Grant tells her that Carl is crazy. Rachel enters and
asks what happened. Vicky fills her in on what happened. Carl
takes another lunge at Grant and vows to hunt him down and have
justice. Rachel and Carl leave. Vicky closes the door and asks
what he meant. Grant tells her that he is deranged. Vic asks
him what Carl feels that he is responsible for. Grant is really
trying to cover up now. Vic finds the suitcase and asks Grant
where he was going. On a trip, he replies, I told you that.

That is a crock of bull, storms Vic, now when are you going to
start telling me the truth?

Grant explains that since Ryan, he needed to get away. But he
realized that he cannot stand to be away from Kirkland. Vic asks
him again what Carl meant. He blames me for what happened to
Ryan, for protecting Justine. Grant takes full responsibility
because no one could blame him for Ryan's death as much as he
blames himself.

At the Cory Mansion, Carl is holding an ice pack to his head.

After all the violence we've had, after Ryan, haven't we had
enough? questions Rachel of Carl. This wasn't planned, he
replies. She asks for an explanation, and he says that there
will be none. He tells Rachel about Gabe and how he doesn't
think that Gabe won't give Carl a fair hearing. Grant feels that
he has gotten away with something, and he is going to see that he
pays. Rachel tells him that she wants no part of any of this.

Carl tells her that he is still the same man who fell in love
with her in New York. He is mourning the only way that he knows.

She begs him to go to the police. He agrees. They hug and less,
but we see a bit of the old Carl spark in his eyes. FREEZE FRAME
