AW: Monday October 2, 1995.

This is going to be a tough day, but I'll try to do it justice. What
great
performances by all concerned! Charles Keating, Jensen Buchanan.
It's
Emmy time. So touching. Direction marvellous (especially the music
over
scenes at the end (Anna Stuart is wonderful without saying a word).
My hat

is off to Mark Pinter who (depite being Gun-boy) is turning in an Emmy

calibre performance. Charles Keating is just beyond words. Wonderful!

Jensen is so believable, it's heartbreaking.

Once again I've changed scene order to keep relevant bits together.

Grab your Puffs.

********************
Paulina & Jake: Paulina is putting some strong moves on Jake. Is she
trying

to convince herself? She is removing his clothes in wanton abandonment
[much
like I fantasize doing myself]. She pushes him over on the rug, but

accidentally knees him rather indelicately and brusquely in the nether

regions. [Jake looks pretty darn good half-out of a white shirt, I
must say].
Jake wants to know what is going on here. Paulina asks if he
doesn't

like it when she's aggressive. Jake says he likes it just fine, but is

suspicious of Paulina's motives. The change is too fast. Paulina says
she

was concerned with Ryan before, and went overboard. Jake wants to put
the

brakes on, now, because something is wrong. "Did your feelings go away
when I

did?" Maybe she doesn't want him anymore? Paulina can't answer. Jake
says

he's leaving, and Paulina doesn't stop him.
She gets very upset, downing a couple of drinks. She's also
getting a
little tipsy. She calls a cab to go out to dance.
Jake is also very upset. Down at the docks, he's hollering about
Paulina wanting "JOE CARLINO" instead of him. He tosses a garbage can
into the bay. "Where the hell are you, Carlino?"
     "I'm right here," Joe says.

Hospital fundraiser: Cass tries to explain to Frankie why he is taking

Laurie's case against the hospital (and Morgan). Cass is obviously
feeling

Laurie's loss. Frankie is aghast "You're going to sue your own
brother?"
Cass says he doesn't want to punish anyone. A little boy died,
and
Laurie has nothing; her husband is a jerk. Frankie agrees that is a
tragedy,

but she doesn't understand why their family has to suffer for it.
Lorna, Morgan & John are ooooing and ahhhing over Felicia's new
look (okay, it'll take some getting used to, and at second glance the
hair is

not too bad). John agrees that Felicia is a very beautiful woman.
Gary arrives. Felicia asks him about Ryan. Gary says he is still
unconscious and it does not look good.
Lorna tells Morgan she has to tell John about Laurie's suit
against the
hospital. The mayor's arrival causes some stir. He's really pushing to
get
Ryan's case solved, Gary says. Felicia offers to keep the mayor busy.
Josie arrives looking very hot. Gary chokes.
Matt and Donna arrive. Josie offers her sympathy regarding
Ryan.

Lorna tells John about the suit. John is surprised and disappointed
that Cass

is representing Lorna. Lorna tells John to smile for the cameras.
Josie says
Sharlene would be so proud of John getting this award.
Morgan tells Courtney she looks great. Courtney is sure that the
law
suit will rip their guts out.
Grant arrives, and publicly tears a strip off Gary. He wants to
know
about the gun, and fingerprints. He accuses Gary of hiding something.
He
blames Gary for allowing Justine to take Kirkland, and causing all this
pain.

Gary points out that Grant kept Justine's whereabouts a secret and
that's why
Ryan is in the hospital. Gary says he will cool Grant's heels if he
won't do

it for himself. Grant says: "I'd love to take you up on that but my
DYING
BROTHER NEEDS ME AT THE HOSPITAL!!" Grant looks sheepish and
slithers out the door.
Frankie want's to know if her miscarriage had anything to do with
representing Laurie. Cass denies that. He's trying to act on what he

believes in. Lorna comes over to disrespect Cass and Frankie tells her
to

"Shut the hell up."

[HANKIES, PLEASE!]

At the Hospital, Vicky talks to Ryan: "So, could you just, you know,
hurry up
and get over being mad at me--because I don't know how much more of
this I
can take. I mean just, SOMETHING, yell at me, yell, or tell me what a
pain I
am. Just don't leave me. Please Ryan...please don't leave me!"
      Ryan opens his eyes.

Vicky: Ryan? Oh my God, You're awake! You came back to me. You're
awake!"

This is a miracle!"

Ryan: Vicky...

Vicky: I can't tell you how it feels to hear you say my name! But
don't say
anymore because you have to save your strength and get all better. You
can

come home and we can have peanut butter and marshmallow sandwiches on
toasted

pound cake [ewww]. You and me and Steven and Kirkland. I am never
letting

you go anywhere again!

Ryan: I'm happy that you are better.

Vicky: Having you back, I am MUCH better.

Ryan: Kirkland?

Vicky: Kirkland is fine...and he misses you so much.

Ryan: Vicky...I want you to know that I'll always be with you.

Vicky: Sweetheart, I am so sorry we had that fight, but yes, you will
always

be with me in my heart...and in my kitchen and in my backyard, because
you are
not going anywhere

Ryan: Yes, I am.

Vicky: You're delirious. I'm afraid you don't know exactly what
you're

saying, but you're not going anywhere, at least until you get all
better.

Ryan: I need you to do me a favor...

Vicky: Anything.

Ryan: 'Cause I don't have much time here.

Vicky: No, please...no.

Ryan: Listen, okay?

Vicky: Okay

Ryan: I want you to give my love to everybody

Vicky: Why? You're not going anywhere...

Ryan: Now, you're going to be on your own..

Vicky: No...

Ryan: Yes. Yes, and it's going to be really hard

Vicky: You have to stay right here with me.

Ryan: I'll always be with you. I'll always be with you. In your
heart--

Vicky: Now you listen to me, Harrison...you're not going anywhere, all
right?

Because you are the guy who rescued me off that runaway horse, do you
remember that? Remember? And you are the guy who loves me even though
I'm...me.

Ryan: There will be somebody else.

Vicky: No. There is nobody else. There can never be anybody else!
There will
never be anybody else!

Ryan: Tell Grant I forgive him. [he is crying] I love you. I always
have. I
always will.

Ryan dies.

An emergency response team rushes in. Vicky is pushed to the side
where she
stands, stunned, staring. The team tries to revive Ryan. They fail.

Vicky is sitting beside Ryan. She just looks at him and touches his
face, his
body. She kisses him. "Goodbye." She goes out. Grant, Carl and
Rachel are
waiting.

Rachel: They called a "code blue."

Carl: What's happened?

Vicky: He's gone...he's GONE.

Carl: No...NO. Let me tell you something, young woman. Ryan is NOT
gone. He cannot be gone. I was just in there.

[Grant begins to weep]

Carl: I only just found him! Recently. We haven't had nearly the time
that

we deserve. [he goes in to Ryan] There, you see, Ryan is not gone.
He's right
here. Right here where I can see him. [he lifts him up and holds him]
where

I can hold him. I never had the chance to do this to you when you were
a

little one, did I? No. She was wrong. She has to be. Oh Ryan, Ryan
my dear

boy! Rachel, my love for him is measureless! Oh, how can I ever get
over

this?

Outside the room:

Grant: Please, Victoria, my brother is gone. You were with him at the
end...

Vicky: I'm sorry. I can't really talk about this now.

Grant: Did he say anything?

Vicky: I barely had a chance to say goodbye.

[Grant cries. He paces.]

At the fundraiser, Donna is having a drink when she has an awful
feeling about
Victoria and Ryan. She wants to go to the hospital.

Frankie accuses Lorna of bullying Cass. She can't stop Cass from
following his conscience. If Lorna knows what that is. Get lost, she
says.

Cass is surprised that she sprang to his defense. Frankie says he IS
her
husband, after all.
Courtney says that Morgan is cheerleading for his brother when
he's

going to ruin his (Morgan's) career.
Gary has a note which he gives to Josie. Something about his
car, in

the back of the parking lot. Marshall asks what it is, and Josie says
she's

got a case that needs working on right away *snort*.
The mayor jokes to John about doctors making money and playing
golf.

John says politicians get free parking at the airport and a free ride
on the

ethics committee. Just as the fellow is about to 'go off', Felicia

intervenes. "How do I get the smoke out of your ears?" she asks John.
"You

can blow in them," he replies. [ACK] He thanks her for her timely

interruption.

Lorna reminds John it's time for his speech. Read the speech
like he
believes it, she says, and go to a quiet corner for a moment.
Gary and Josie get it on in the car. After they duck a passerby
(Joe?),

Gary admits he wanted to get away from the open bar. Besides, he's
used to

parking lots, and parking cars. Josie reminisces her early days at
dancing

school. Gary says she's come a long way. She'd be a big star in
Hollywood,

he says. Nope. Only in her dreams. This must be a boring life,
compared to

that, he say. Its a thrill a minute. Things are getting hot. A call
comes

for Gary on the radio. It's bad news. "It's Ryan," he says.
John and Felicia on a balcony. Felicia says he looks perfect.
She puts

a flower in his lapel. They discuss Lorna's lack of a love life. If a
many

made a pass a her, she'd fall all over herself, she says. John says
she's

charming, vivacious & poised. They dance on the balcony. They get
really

chummy. In fact VERY chummy. "Do you want to stop?" John asks... [as
IF!

Gracious, the woman is NOT stupid!]

At the hospital: (Lyrics to song-over)

Once there was a time

Like no other time before

Hope was still an open door.

Once upon a dream.

And I was afraid

The dream was so exciting.

But now I see the fate. [sorry if this line is wrong]

And I am here alone.

Once upon a dream.

You were heaven sent to me

But it wasn't meant to be

Now you're just a dream.

Could we begin again?

Once upon a dream.

Donna and Matt arrive at the hospital. Rachel kisses Carl, who is
still
holding Ryan. Rachel goes out and tells Matt and Donna the news.
Donna looks
through the glass at Ryan, horrified, crying. Matt embraces his
mother.

Vicky is holding Ryan's coat. She lifts it to her face, then puts
in on,
hugging it around her. She lies down on the bed, crying.

FREEZE FRAME *sniffle*
