At Jake and Paulina's rehearsal dinner, they argue loudly about his tardiness.
Amanda inquires as to whether or not there is to be a wedding. They both
assure everyone there will be a wedding. Jake toasts Paulina. Ryan toasts
them both, in a very touching toast. Then it's Matt's turn. Then it's
Paulina's turn -- anyone sensing a pattern? Carl gives Ito a tape of his
conversations with Evan and tells him to make two copies for Ryan and Billy.
Ito leaves. Ryan asks Carl who set him up. Carl refuses to answer and Ryan
says that's OK, but you know, if you lie to Rachel, you'll lose her. All the
lovey-dovey stuff is getting to Ryan, poor thing. Grant tells Amanda he is
very close to snatching Kirk out of his mother's arms. She is so pleased.
Jake gets a phone call -- it's Vicky, but it's kind of an inconvenient time.
He'll call back. Rachel gives Jake and Paulina a present that arrived for
them. It's Jake's grandmother's quilt from his uncle and aunt. He's upset
they're not there until he is filled in that there was a screw up with the
invitations. There is also a note from his grandmother to his mother wishing
good things. Paulina tells Jake she believes that phony story about the nun
and the fender-bender. They reminisce about their greatest fights. Cute.
Carl's phone rings, and afterwards, he disregards his honesty pledge and tells
Rachel he must attend a business meeting. Really, he goes to see Ito who
tells him the tape has been erased, presumably by Evan. Jake and Rachel have
a heart-to-heart and end up hugging. She welcomes him into the family. Jake
asks Paulina to leave the party with him so he can give her a surprise -- his
mother's necklace, the one he gave her the night before their last wedding.
Paulina and Rachel have a heart-to heart. Yet another pattern . . . Jake
has gone back to Tops, where he gets back on the phone and assures Vicky that
he will not let her down.

Evan admits to Lorna that he loves Amanda. Ryan calls Lorna from the party --
no news on Felicia. He asks her if she has ever heard of Lila Dawson from
Carl. She is intrigued because she knows about Evan and Lila, but says
nothing. Trent arrives at the agency as Lorna leaves. Trent and Lorna do not
get along. Evan tells Trent that Carl is on to him. He is not upset by this.
Lorna goes to the party where Ryan tells her that Lila has been passing
Carl's old counterfeit money. She flirts with him and leaves.

Felicia sends a note for help out the window just as Walter knocks on her
door. She tells him to hold on a minute, she's dressing. After she lets him
in, he tells her he's still angry about her trying to escape. She tells him
he doesn't know the difference between fantasy and reality. I wonder how long
it took her to figure that out? He says he does so and she just sounds like
the shrink his mother made him see. Imagine that. He demands she write a
letter telling her friends she's been drinking and wants to be left alone.
She refuses, and he angrily tells her if she doesn't, he will never let her
leave. She says OK, I'll give it to you in the morning. Remembering that one
of Felicia's heroines concealed clues to her disappearance in a note, he
dictates the note and demands she write it now. She does, and when she
notices that she's signed it "Fanny," she lies and says that is what her very
close friends call her. It's a signal to Cass and Frankie. He apologizes for
yelling and leaves to mail the letter. He does not see Felicia's first letter
by the door.
