Gary congratulates Josie for the excellent police work
which brought her friend's attacker to justice. Meanwhile,
Chris and a jubilant Toni celebrate Rayburn's arrest,
blissfully unaware that Chip is already on the loose once
again. Sofia keeps a vigil by Nick's hospital bed as he
begins to suffer the same toxic reaction that Kirkland had to
the antibiotic. Cautioning Nick's anxious family that things
will almost certainly get worse before they get better, Shane
administers the experimental drug and waits to observe the
results of the untried treatment. Later, out in the hall, Shane
warns Vicky that her brother could go into cardiac arrest if
the new drug fails to work. A seething Grant orders Cindy
never to mention to anyone the blood test which "proved"
he could not be Kirkland's natural father. Sofia tells Nick
she wants to marry him and spend the rest of her life loving
him. As they sit by Kirkland's bed, Vicky thanks Jake for
helping her believe that everything will turn out fine in the
end. Cindy goes hacking through the hospital's computer
files and alters her husband's records to further separate him
from his son. As Chip sneaks back to his apartment, Josie
is aghast to discover that her prisoner managed to talk his
way out of his cell. Grant stalls when Vicky asks him to
prepare for the possibility that he might well have to donate
bone marrow to their son. Nick takes a sudden turn for the
              worse.
