Preparing a special picnic basket for her old
friend, a beaming Paulina tells Jake how thrilled
she is that he and Vicky are finally going to tie
the knot. Meanwhile, as she struggles to get her
rambunctious sons ready for camp, Vicky mulls over
her options and realizes her deadline is almost up.
As the judge and attorneys return from their long
private session in chambers, Nick warns Sofia that
Joanne's testimony will be very difficult to listen
to. Jittery about the outcome of his upcoming
journey to Lassiter, Jake asks Paulina to help him
rehearse. Later, Amanda attempts to undermine Jake's
renewed confidence but he leaves for his appointment
with a bounce in his step. After bumping into Lila
at the hospital, Shane tells his estranged wife how
glad he is that she's taking her therapy sessions
seriously. Disclosing that she and the defendant
dated a few times in Chicago, Joanne tearfully
describes for the court how Nick tried to force
himself on her one frightening night. Amanda
eavesdrops on Carl and Rachel and fumes to hear them
discussing how empty her life seems to be. Appalled
by Joanne's story, Sofia races from the courtroom as
the prosecution rests its case. As the sun sinks in
the west, Jake waits on the playground in Lassiter,
daydreaming about spending the rest of his life with
      the woman he loves.
