As the start of Nick's trial stirs strong emotions
in the crowds gathering outside the courthouse,
Chris tells Tyrone he fears the rapist is getting
ready to cop a plea in order to earn a lighter
sentence. Cindy is dismayed to discover that Grant's
publicist has planted a story in the newspapers
about the Harrisons expecting an heir. Paulina
begins exercising in an effort to lose weight safely
without the use of diet pills. Grant calls his
wife's doctor and is shaken to learn that Cindy will
never be able to conceive a child. Sofia and Vicky
are relieved when Nick finally enters a plea of not
guilty. Cindy wonders how to break some bad news to
her ambitious husband. Thrilled to learn about
Josie's pregnancy, Joe congratulates his beaming
detective and assures her she'll make a great mom.
Jake daydreams about a family of his own after Gary
reveals that he and Josie are expecting a baby.
Hoping to break the spell Cass is weaving over the
jury, Dana changes strategies and decides to put her
star witness on the stand right off the bat. Grant
angrily informs Cindy that come hell or high water
they will have a baby on the way by election day.
Paulina suggests to Vicky that the perfect guy has
been right under her nose for years. Toni takes the
stand and tearfully testifies about the attack which
      changed her life forever.
