Carl and Rachel walk the floor with their fussy,
newly baptized babies. When his wife announces that
Felicia is bringing her new friend to lunch, Carl
nervously asks Rachel to cancel the social
engagement at once. Jake brings Vicky the bad news
about her brother's arrest just moments before an
irate Nick arrives and takes the publisher to task
for the story in the morning paper. Meanwhile, at
the precinct house, Josie encourages her fellow
officers to be supportive and understanding towards
Toni now that the Herald has named her as the rape
victim. As Rachel probes for the truth about her
husband's obvious antipathy towards Alexander, Carl
reveals only that he had some unpleasant business
dealings with the man several years before. Neil
continues to make progress in his efforts to win
Ally's approval. Sofia rails at Amanda for printing
lies about her boyfriend. Uncertain of his own guilt
or innocence, Nick confides to Jake a fear that he's
turned into a carbon copy of his abusive, alcoholic
grandfather. After Paulina admits that an overdose
of diet pills caused her to suffer heart
palpitations, Amanda invites her unhappy sister to
join her aerobics class and work off the pounds
safely. Angry that her family believes Nick is
guilty, Sofia quits her job at Carlino's. Vicky's
friendship with Etta Mae goes on the rocks after she
insists that Toni was mistaken when she identified
      her attacker.
