Here is the Another World Update for Tuesday, July 25, 1995. A
truly action packed day, so here we go.

Please note that today, all occurances of Rachel are of Justine,
except when at the clinic.

Preview From yesterday:

Charlene is leaving to go home to Oklahoma for a long visit.

Tomas and Nick at the Hudson Farm:

Tomas is returning a stuffed animal left in Maggie's car. Tomas
again thanks Nick for finding Lu at the fair yesterday. Michael
interrupts them to yell at Nick for missing his appointment with
his probation officer yesterday. A little later, we see nick
rushing around looking for his appointment card. Michael is
riding Nick about how he could forget such an important
appointment. He is concerned that he is getting distracted and
forgetting what is important. Nick gets upset and tells Mike
that he does not need to be leashed. Mike tells him he doesn't
want to take him for a walk. He asks if Nick was with a girl
last night and Nick replies that he was, one that is three feet
tall and likes ice cream. The only girl he has been with in the
last six months is Louisa. Mike clues in that he was with Maggie
and Tomas. He asks if they had a good time. Nick comments
whether he really wants to get into this right now. Mike does,
and Nick tells him what happened at the fair. Mike asks what
Nick is going to tell his probation officer. Nick says that it
won't matter what he tells him, he could tell him that there was
a death in the family and it wouldn't matter. Mike want to know
if Nick wants him to step in and see what he can do. Nick
replies that it would only make things worse and to leave it
alone. Mike tells him that he could just ask for help to which
Nick replies, and when was the last time you asked for help?

He's got Mike there and they admit that they are just like one
another. Nick leaves to see the probation officer.

Later, we see Josie and Michael who are planning a BBQ. They are
going to invite all kinds of people. Mike asks about that guy
from the police academy. Josie tells him that they are not
allowed to fraternize and to leave it alone, she doesnt' want to
explain it all. Mike says fine. They continue to discuss the
BBQ, including the menu when Nick arrives home. He is mad about
Mike taking care of everything. Josie takes her clue to leave.

Mike tells Nick that he is sorry, he was only trying to help.

Nick says that it was embarrassing to have Mike take care of
everything. Nick yells at him about embarrassing him and lights
into him about all of the things that he could have done, like a
car jacking. Mike asks what has gotten into him. Nick replies,
the truth, your son is a screwup. A lousy, no good, screwup.

Happy fathers' day.

Police Station

Buck comes to pick up Gary to go for a beer, and takes the
opportunity to tease him about Josie. Gary can't go with Buck,
but if he wants to, go without him. Buck comments on how he has
heard that Gary was read the riot act for performing above and
beyond the call of duty with a cadet named Watts. Gary tells him
to leave Josie out of this. Buck replies that he doesn't blame
Gary, she is hot. Buck has also heard about Josie's past in LA.

Gary points out that Buck is in no position to be spreading
gossip. Buck, however, doesn't stop, he comments that he would
shell out of few bucks for a piece like Watts (in the background,
we see Josie standing outside the office door, listening to the
conversation). Gary, who looks like he may strangle Buck,
instead elbows him in the face, knocking him against the desk.

He turns and sees Josie standing at the door. A fight starts and
Josie calls a couple of officers. Buck is escorted out of the
office and Josie is left to cool down Gary. Gary tries to cover
the incident by telling Josie that Buck was saying bad things
about his mother and Josie replies that she could have sworn that
Buck was talking about her. Gary does not reply. She tells him
that it wasn't necessary for him to defend her, she realizes that
there will always be some people who will not let her forget.

Gary hopes that she can forget what he said and Josie replies
that she learned a long time ago not to let what other people
think worry her. But thanks for sticking up for her. Gary says
that her past doesn't bother him, he has been through worse. He
apologizes for coming down on her for the hug and she tells him
to forget it. They shake hands and Josie leaves, first asking if
Ryan has asked him about fraternizing with the cadets, cause he
did the same to her. He tells he that he wants to be friends,
but realizes that it will not happen and that he hopes that she
does too. She says that the one thing she has learned it to take
orders and tells him to take care of the jaw, then leaves. She
meets Nick on the way out and he asks if she has seen Buck.

Josie tells him to follow the blood trail. She suggests that he
avoid him right now and he replies that he can't he skipped his
appointment last night and has to see him today. Josie wishes
him good luck and exits.

A while later we see Nick sitting in the office with Buck. Buck
wants to know why he missed his appointment yesterday. Nick says
that he does not have an excuse. Buck tells Nick that if he
messes up with him, he is going to be punished. And that he
messed up real good with him. Gary opens the door and tells Buck
that he needs to see him outside. Buck messes up Nicks hair and
then goes to see what Gary wants. Gary tells him that he needs
to ease up on this kid. Buck tells him that he won't and that it
doesn't matter that his daddy is pulling the captain's strings.

He is going to do his job. Gary tells him that if he wants to
keep his job, he will do as Ryan tells him. Buck, visibly
pissed, reenters the office and orders Nick out of the office,
but first a message for Michael. He may have gotten you off the
hook this time, but I will be waiting for you next time with a
smile on my face and a key to the state pen. Because worthless
pieces of garbage like you never learn. Cause you only want what
you can't have. Now get the hell out. Nick, a little angry,
leaves.

Buck is spouting off the Gary about Ryan. Gary tells him that he
is out of line. Buck tells him like he was earlier when he
punched him. They discuss Gary being sober and how things' arn't
like they were in Indianapolis. Buck tells Gary that he will not
remain sober long. Gary tells him that he is taking it one day
at a time. They talk about AA and Buck tells him that he liked
him better when he was sober. Then he tells him that he would be
well advised to lay off Josie. They again discuss Josie and her
past. Buck ribs Gary about wanting Josie so bad that he can
taste it but that if he does have her, he'll lose his focus and
she'll end up just like Grace and that the last time he checked,
she was dead. Gary orders him out of the office. Buck tells him
that it is just the same as at home. Josie is off limits just
like Grace was off limits except that Josie is a cadet and a
whore. Gary grabs Buck in a stranglehold and tells him that he
can say whatever he wants to about himself, but if so much as
breathes a word about Josie Watts or Grace again he will beat him
so bad that he won't recognize himself, understand? Buck says he
understands. Gary tells him he doesn't deserve a badge and
doesnt' deserve to be judging people. He again warns him to lay
off Josie or he will answer to him. Now get out of my sight.

Mental Institution in Switzerland

Rachel is dreaming about sending her message to Carl. She wakes
up calling for Carl.

A while later we see the nurse (her name escapes me right now,
the one Justine is buying off.) She is counting her money and
smiling.

Later, she is taking Rachel's pulse and telling Rachel that she
must rest. Rachel tells her that she is feeling better, it must
be all the excellent care she is getting. Rachel doesn't know if
she is aware that "I am a very wealthy woman" and that she is
thinking of giving the clinic a very large donation for all of
the care she has gotten there. But only on her release and that
she would be willing to earmark a very large portion of that for
her. She replies that she doesn't take bribes and that offering
her one won't help. She makes it a policy not to negotiate with
patients.

Vic's House

Ryan is getting ready to leave for the day. Vic wants him to
stay with her. He leaves anyway, saying that he has too much
paperwork. As he opens the door, Rachel is standing there. She
wants to see her grandchildren. Vic (who seems a bit confused)
says she will go and get them and Ryan comes back into the house
and says that now would be a good time to have another coffee and
maybe a Danish. Vic says, "I thought you were in such a big
hurry to get to work." Ryan covers with a story about his office
being painted and that he doesn't really have to be there until
ten. Vic confused but pleased, leaves to get the kids. Ryan
takes the opportunity to question Rachel about why she didn't
hook up with Jamie while she was in Paris. She covers with a
story that he was too busy and then asks for something to drink.

Ryan goes to get a glass of water. Vic returns with Kirkland.

Rachel takes Kirkland and insists that they call her Grandma.

Rachel tells Vic that she hopes that the boys will become
frequent visitors when she is in her new home. Vic is surprised,
she thinks that it is a great house. Rachel tells her that every
now and then a woman needs to make a fresh start, to change
everything. Vic comments that if that is what her and Carl want
.. . . Rachel admits that Carl doesn't know anything about it and
she hopes that she won't tell. Vic asks when she was planning to
tell Carl. She wants it to be a surprise, and don't even tell
Ryan either. Vic says that she could not leave her house, here
are too many memories. Rachel comments that her house has many
memories too, of Mac. Vic says it must be hard on Carl. Rachel
says she could imagine what it would be like to live in another
woman's house, sleep in another woman's bed, etc. It is
important that they start fresh. Vic is confused. The doorbell
rings and she leaves to answer it. She opens the door to Grant.

"Oh joy," says Vic. Grant want to see Kirk, even though it is
not a scheduled visit. Vic says not a chance. Rachel comes in,
smiling stupidly at Grant, and greets him. Ryan (who has finally
got that glass of water) also enters. Grant asks again to see
kirk and Vic points out that her house is kinda full right now.

Rachel tells her that surely she can let him see Kirk, it is so
important for a child to see both parents. Now Vic is really
confused. She thanks Rachel and tells her that her and Grant
have a schedule all worked out. Grant asks Vic to see past all
that to which Vic replies no, she has enough trouble with Grant
seeing Kirk as it is. Ryan interjects to tell Vic that with
Rachel and the boys being there, they don't need to cause a
scene. Vic replies that that is just the way Grant works. He
finds the weak spot, then he weasels his way in like a worm, and
then is a worm who doesn't leave. Ryan replies that he doesn't
think that a short visit would hurt anything. Vic agrees to let
Grant briefly see Kirk. Rachel hands over Kirk over to Grant.

He gets down on the floor to play with Kirk. Vic turns to Ryan
and comments about Rachel not being able to take her eyes off
Grant and Kirk. Ryan covers with a story about Rachel missing
her own children and relating to Grant because of it. Vic still
doesn't buy it, and comments about Grant almost killing Amanda.

They are interrupted by the phone and Vic goes to answer it. It
is Carl looking for Ryan. Carl tells Ryan about the missing
money. Ryan tells Carl that now is not a good time. Carl asks
if Justine is there (at this time, Justine is approaching Ryan).

She asks if Carl wants to talk to her. Ryan hangs up the phone
and tells Rachel that they had actually just hung up, but she can
call him back if she wants. She says, no, I'll see him later.

Vic takes Kirk from Grant and tells everyone that it is his nap
time and they do not want to disturb him. Vic and Ryan leave to
tell Kirk and Steven a nap time story and that they should see
themselves out. Grant thanks Rachel for helping him out with
Vicky. She replies that it is very important to spend time with
your children. They leave together. Ryan and Vic return with
Ryan getting ready to leave again. Vic is on his case about him
having lots of time when Rachel was there and she wants an
explanation. He says that he doesn't have the time and opens the
door to Michael, who was about to knock. He has come to see Ryan
about Nick.

Cory Mansion

Maggie is going through the pictures she took yesterday at the
fair and admiring the pics of Nick. Carl enters and Maggie tells
him that Rachel left a message for him before she left. She also
tells him that she has finished her paper, all she needs to do is
call it up and print it. As she boots the computer, she tells
Carl that there is a message. They are interrupted by the
doorbell. Carl tells her to hold off and goes to answer the
door. Maggie tells him that she will print it up with her paper
and leave it on the desk. Tomas is at the door with a package
for Carl. He escorts Tomas into the living area, then leaves to
check out the package.

They hug. Turns out today is an extra holiday for him. Lu is in
play group today and they are going to spend the day together.

We see the email that Rachel sent to Carl underneath Maggie's
term paper on the printer. Carl is reading Rachel's note, she is
going to be busy this morning, but has reserved the afternoon for
just the two of them, Love. Carl puts the silencer on the gun
and says "Don't talk to me about love".

Maggie and Tomas are enjoying their day together. They sit down
for a ice tea and get to talking about last night at the
carnival. Tomas tells Maggie about Nick missing his appointment
and Maggie says that is all that Nick needed. Tomas questions
Maggie about her and Nick spending all of this time together.

Maggie tells him that it is no big deal. They agree that they do
not want to fight today. They decide to spend their romantic day
together having a picnic, and leave hand in hand.

Meanwhile, Carl is in the study talking on the phone. Seems that
Carl has found out about a large sum of money that Rachel has
withdrawn from the bank and is questioning the bank manager. The
manager does not seem to be forthcoming with any information, so
Carl tells him that if his wife withdraws so much as a penny
again and he is not notified immediately, he will withdraw the
entire Cory portfolio and move it to a rival bank. He hangs up
the phone. The new maid (the cop) comes in and asks Carl what
time he wants supper tonight. He tells her that his wife is gone
for the morning and she can drop the act. She says that maybe
now she can get some real detective work done. He warns her not
to let her guard too far down, his wife tends to be where she is
most unlikely to be. She inquires where Rachel is this morning
to which Carl replies, "Off spending some more of our money, I
suppose." He tells the maid that his wife is unstable and
explains about the money. He is wondering where the money went
and to whom.

We again see Maggie and Tomas, this time at an abandoned
house/cabin. They comment that it looks like it may storm and
that maybe they'll be trapped. We hear thunder in the
background. Tomas tells Maggie that he didn't realize that the
property went back this far. Maggie explains that Mac used to
take long walks with Rachel and discovered how beautiful it was
back there and bought it. They kiss. He thanks her for not
bringing anyone else there but him. He tells her that she is
special and that this is a special place. They embrace. Maggie
remembers that she forgot something up at the house and leaves,
telling Tomas that she will be right back and to look around if
he wants to. He opens the picnic basket and as he unfolds the
blanket he sees a slip of paper on the floor. He picks it up and
it is Nicks probation appointment slip.

A while later, Maggie returns to an upset Tomas. She had gone
back to the house for a picture of Luisa that she thought maybe
Tomas would like to frame. She tells him that she isn't going to
think of this place as her special place anymore, she is going to
think of it as their special place. Then asks what is the
matter. He shows her the slip. He asks, if this is our special
place, then why has Nick been here?

Later, we see Rachel giving the Realtor the down payment on the
house she was looking at yesterday. He tells her that they need
to set a closing date. She tells him that she wants a few
minutes alone in the house to take notes for her decorator. He
agrees and will call her to make further arrangements, then
leaves.

Rachel closes the door and turns around. In her Justine voice
she says, "No more Rachel, no more of her furnishings, no more of
her family, it's my turn now. My son and my lover all here with
me. (At the time she is draping herself over the stairway in the
house.)

Ryan has come to see Carl. He wants to know what happened. Ryan
wants to know where Carl got the pistol. He tells him that he
has enough to worry about without having to worry that he is
going to shoot his mother. If Carl sinks to Justine's level,
what will happen to Rachel. Ryan is sure that Justine is
starting to slip, he thinks that she cannot handle the role-
playing much longer. They just have to wait. They are working
up a dossier on Justine and that it will give them a clue. It
should arrive soon. They should be sure that either Carl or the
detective (maid) gets it. The detective/maid comes in and tells
Ryan that the package was delivered, but she sent it on to Ryan's
house. Ryan panics, they don't need Vic to open that package.

We skip to Vic's and Stephen is entering the living room with the
package. He gives it to Vic telling her that it is very
important and that Ryan needs it right away. Vic thanks him and
looks over the package. She grabs a letter opener . . .FREEZE
